About a year ago I had my first piercing experience ever. I was convinced by my girlfriend to get a PA piercing. She was getting a vertical hood piercing and we agreed that it would be a good experience for us both to get pierced together. It was! We both walked into the piercing studio and informed the piercer, Jessica, of what we wanted. My girlfriend decided to get a 14ga vertical hood piercing with a cute curved barbell and I decided to get a 12ga Prince Albert with a CBR. Both procedures went perfectly and healing was no problem at all. We both loved our piercings and the benefits they provided. Both of us decided that we would get more.

As a present to her, I decided to surprise her with a new piercing. The piercing I had decided on was an Apadravya. I had done a lot of research on an Apadravya and knew that is what I wanted. I debated on an Ampallang, but determined that might be a problem when getting intimate. It could definitely get caught on things and that would HURT! So, I ruled that out and decided to go forward with the Apadravya. I decided to do it 2 days before her birthday so I wouldn't be all wrapped up and hurting from the experience. I wanted some time to let it stop bleeding and look somewhat "normal."
I proceeded to go to the studio and found out that Jessica was no longer at Pins & Needles. Their new piercer was Bethany. She informed me that Jessica had moved to a new city and she would be the one doing the piercing. I talked to her for about 10 minutes and she re-assured me that she knew what she was doing. I was very apprehensive about a piercer piercing through the head of my penis who did not know what they were doing. After talking to her, it was obvious that she knew what was going on. She gave me a set of calipers and asked me to go into the bathroom and determine what the distance was for the barbell when fully erect. I did so and came back out. At that point in time, we decided to go with a 12ga. 1 1/2" straight barbell. She went into the back to sterilize the jewelry and to setup for the procedure.
At this point in time I began to freak out! I was ready to bolt out the door. Right before I could do that, Bethany came out from behind the curtain and invited me back. My heart was pumping! She asked me to strip down, which I did so she could take a look. She removed my PA ring and inspected the area. She informed me that we would use the existing hole for the PA to come out the bottom. Fine with me. The least amount of tissue to pierce the better! I sat down in the chair that had the back reclined so she could get a good angle on the piercing. She cleaned the head of my penis several times changing gloves in between each cleaning. She then marked the spot where the piercing would come out the top. She informed me that unlike the PA the Apadravya would be a freehand piercing. The PA used a receiving tube to line up the needle and not hit anything on the way out. The Apadravya is going through it all.
Bethany got all of her tools lined up, grabbed a hold of my penis and asked me if I was ready. I said I was so she told me to take a deep breath in and blow it out. When I did, she started the needle. Let me tell you, the pain that is associated with this piercing is nothing like I have ever felt in my life. It hurt so badly. On a scale of 1-10 the PA was about a 3-4. This was definitely a 10. Bethany had to stop 3/4 of the way through the piercing for a split second so she could make sure that she lined up the needle with the mark and pushed it on through. When the needle started poking through the top of the head, I almost passed out.
Bethany let me sit there for a minute with the needle sticking through before she did the jewelry transfer. I got real light headed and had to take a minute to relax. I looked down and I saw a needle sticking out of the head of my penis. At that point in time, I knew that the painful part was over and I had done it. After about 20 seconds, Bethany lined up the barbell and slid it through. She screwed on the top ball and wiped off the blood. She then wrapped my penis with a bandage and pulled her glove over the top. She then gave me some orange juice to get my blood sugar levels back up. I sat on the table for approximately 5 minutes letting myself come back to reality. After that, I put my pants back on and walked out of the room. I paid for the piercing $80.00 and left Bethany a $20.00 tip.
When I left the studio I walked down the shopping center to Subway and got some food. I ate prior to getting pierced, but afterwards I was hungry again. While at Subway, I called up my girlfriend and told her I was going to go over to a friend's house for a poker night and I wasn't going to drive over to see her later because I would be drinking. This was not 100% true, but I did not want to blow her birthday surprise. She was perfectly fine with it and told her that I would see her on her birthday. I knew that she was going out with her parents the next night so I didn't have to worry about hiding it the next night. She would be out late and then go to her house when she was done.
The day of her birthday I told her that I had a very special present to show her, but it would have to wait until the night. She kept prying as to what it was, but I didn't give any clues. We went out all day long and my Apadravya never hurt one bit. That night when we got home, I said that I had to use the restroom. I went in side and took off my clothes. I then walked out and her eyes went straight for my penis. Her eyes were wide open and she had a huge smile on her face. She was more than happy. She said that it was a great birthday present for her and she couldn't wait to try it out. I said that we would have to wait until I am healed up before we try it out. She was also very excited when I gave her the rest of her gifts (flowers, necklace, etc.). She did say that the Apadravya was the best gift though.
The girlfriend is now talking about going in and getting a horizontal hood to go with her vertical hood. She says that if we can't have sex until I am healed, we might as well heal up together. I can't wait!
Overall I like my Apadravya. Is it something that I would do again? I don't know. Now that I have it, I like it, but I don't know if I would go through with it if I had to do it all over. The look on the girlfriend's face was worth all the pain though. If it were only for me, probably wouldn't be worth it. I can't wait to try it out though!
