Since I have been interested in the body modification scene I have known who Elayne Angel is. Being a piercer myself, Elayne is one of those people I have always looked up to and held in such high regards. All her work with the APP as well as her past experience with revolutionizing piercing brought her to almost hero status in my book. She brought the tongue piercing into the mainstream world, and she has been a cavalier in helping set new standards of health and safety to the industry. When I decided on my Apadravya, it was no question who I wanted to do it.

I had no idea when or even if I would get the chance to be pierced by her now. Things didn't look to good down in her neck of the woods. Ironically since I am in Houston we had a lot of New Orleans population come thru town. At the studio I was working at, we even had a temp. counter help girl who was good friends with Jen who, previous to the storm, worked at Rings of Desire. I knew this was some ort of sign I was still to be pierced. I just hoped that my chance hadn't passed.
Flash forward to February 2006. Rings of desire was back open and running, for the time being. Angel announced she would be closing the famous Rings of Desire in March. This was my last chance.
I found a way to get out to New Orleans via a week long job in Mississippi. I took the job, just so I could pass thru and get my piercing on the way back home. I did my week and made my appointment. I actually had to reschedule for a day earlier, but Angel was more than happy to stay after closing so she could fit me in.
I have to say, I was really nervous going in. I had no doubt I was in the best hands, but the thought of three needles going where they were about to go takes its mental strain on even the most prepared of us. I had a lot of questions for Angel, her being an idol and all, and I totally forgot to ask most of em. Never the less, it took a lot of work to even get to New Orleans for this and regardless of my absent mind I was going thru with it.
Not only was I getting an apadravya, but I decided that since I had the opportunity and might not ever have it again I might as well take it. I went for 2 10g lower frenums AND the apadravya all in the same sitting. After a short wait, Angel led me into the mirror room. She had me take my pants off, got me cleaned up, and proceeded to mark me out. The entire time she was answering every question I could think of, explaining everything she was doing, and why at the same time. As a piercer I truly appreciated all the information she was giving me. Angel left the room and had me measure myself hard for the jewelry size. When she returned, she re-cleaned the area and we got right down to business. We started with the 10g frenums. She put the clamps on, and I kept breathing. Both piercings were a quick sharp pinch, but nothing too bad. Like most other piercings, once the jewelry was in place there was little discomfort. I had to take a short break, get a little water, and calm down just a bit before we moved on to the 12g apadravya. She pierced freehand for the apadravya. I currently have 23 piercings healed and it was significantly more painful than any other piercing I've had to date. Once the jewelry was in, she put a sterile saline pad over my new holes. I've never felt such relief. Even tho I am quite familiar with APP aftercare, risks, and so forth, she took the time to go over every detail with me. Just goes to show how dedicated to the craft she truly is.
Angel wrapped me up with a to go penis, I thanked her, got a few Rings of Desire souvenirs, and went for a night out in the French Quarter.
Over all, it was a wonderful experience. I LOVE my new additions and they are healing nicely. Even though Angel is no longer in New Orleans and Rings of Desire is sadly closed, I suggest that if you ever get the opportunity to be pierced by her you should take it. I know I'm sure glad I didn't miss my last chance.
