I am writing this experience so that other people will get an apadravya if they can't get a Prince Albert.
At A Glance Author Scott When Two years ago Artist Dave Studio Body Works Productions Location Cleveland, Ohio About 2 or 3 years ago, I discovered bmezine.com. I had always wondered what it would be like to have body piercings. A friend of mine at work told me about bmezine and I knew I had to check it out. I was amazed at other people's experiences and the pictures were awesome. I knew I was going to get a piercing, but I didn't know where. After reading a ton of experiences and looking at many pictures, my girlfriend and I decided that I should get a Prince Albert. I talked to a few people at work about piercing studios around Cleveland and Body Works Productions was where I decided to go to get my piercing. I called up and made an appointment for the following week. My girlfriend couldn't go with me that day, so I went alone. I was very nervous, but also extremely excited to be getting such an awesome piercing. After waiting almost an hour, I finally got called back. Dave (the owner and also a registered nurse) was going to do my piercing. After picking out jewelry, talking about the piercing, and signing the paperwork, I got on the table and let Dave get to work. After examining me, Dave said that he didn't think a Prince Albert was a good idea for me. He explained that I had what is called hypospadia. Basically, it means that the head of my penis doesn't have a lot of tissue around the bottom of it that separates the urethra. Dave said that there are a lot of piercing studios out there that would probably give me a Prince Albert, but he guaranteed that the piercing would probably grow out and I would be left with a nasty looking split on the bottom of my penis that wouldn't grow back. I was shocked and stunned. I thought I wouldn't be able to get any kind of piercing. Dave asked me if I ever heard of an appadravya. I had to admit that I never heard of it and I asked him to explain it to me. I was shocked when he explained it. It seemed at the time like it was too much of a piercing, way more than a simple little Prince Albert. I told him that I would go home, talk to my girlfriend and do some research on it. He said that was fine and I told him I would call in a week or so. At that point, I was not going to get it done. I got home and looked up apadravya on bme. I have to admit that by the time my girlfriend came over, I had pretty much made up my mind that I would be getting an apadravya the following week. We talked about it and decided to go ahead and make an appointment for the following week.
I got to Body Works a little while before my appointment and to my surprise, Dave was already waiting for me. We talked a little bit about the piercing, signed the papers and got ready for the piercing. I knew it was going to hurt and that there was a chance that I would bleed some. Dave got everything all set up and asked if I was ready. He put the clamp on which hurt some and had me take 3 deep breaths. I felt a slight pinch and Dave explained that he had just put the needle through the bottom into a receiving tube, just like a prince albert. He said that he liked to do it that way to ensure that everything gets lined up well. He then had me take 3 more deep breaths and then I felt a tremendous burning/pinching that only lasted a second or two. Dave said that the needle was through and that he was going to put the 10 guage barbell through. I barely even felt the jewelry go in. I looked down at my new piercing and I have to admit that it looked so awesome. It was bleeding some so Dave gave me some guaze pads to hold in it for a few minutes to help it stop. I was totally amazed that my penis didn't really hurt, I thought it would be so painful, but it wasn't. After 5 or 10 minutes, Dave took a look at the piercing and said that he would tape some bandages to it for the 45 minute ride home. He gave me a piece of paper with the aftercare instructions on it and sent me on my way.
When my girlfriend got home, she asked me how I was. I am quite sure that she thought I had chickened out. I finally showed her my new piercing and she thought it looked awesome. After a few weeks of aftercare we finally decided that it was healed enough to have sex. It felt incredible. I wish I had gotten the piercing sooner. My girlfriend said it felt awesome for her too.
Since that time many things have happened. I don't have the piercing any more, I don't have that girlfriend any more either. I took the piercing out to clean the jewelry and one of the balls got lost. I had an extra ball somewhere, but couldn't find it. I decided to leave it out for a few days, I thought it was healed enough. However, when I got a new ball for the barbell, I was shocked to find that the barbell wouldn't go through the piercing. I only had the barbell out for 3 or 4 days, but it was enough for the piercing to close. I do still have the hole in the bottom where a Prince Albert would be, but I can't wear jewelry there for fear of it growing out. I do put a captive bead ring in it once in a while, but I don't leave it in long. My girlfriend moved on to another relationship and I got a new girlfriend who is now my wife. We have both gotten several tattoos since we got married and we both have a few other piercings.
Overall though, I have to say that the apadravya was my favorite piercing. I wish it wouldn't have closed up, but I feel very fortunate to have had it for a few months.
