My pierce was performed 18 hours ago. I just woke up.
It did not bleed yesterday at all except for the small stream of blood and discolored urine you get when you first begin to pee, So I made a stupid decision and decided to go to bed with just some boxers on.
DO NOT DO THIS! Seriously, Worst mistake I could have ever made. I woke up with an erection about 4 hours after I had gone to bed and I felt a wet spot when I rolled over. I got up and turned on the light to check and I was soaked in blood. Pretty much all of my boxers on the front were red and soaking, the sheets on my bed had a large circle of blood in them, the tops of my legs were dripping with it.
I guess the moral of this would be DO NOT ASSUME IT WON'T BLEED. This piercing IS going to bleed overnight.
So I stayed up and changed the sheet, put a fresh one on and laid a towel over it and tucked it under my pillow a bit so it would move a little less.
I got Durex XXL condoms that I had purchased in the event of this piercing and wore that.
Be EXTREMELY careful when putting this on as the bar in your penis is going to be larger at the moment to make room for the swelling you may be getting.
I would suggest holding the top of the condom in your fingers and rolling it down once or twice then inserting your fingers into it(wash your hands before hand) and pulling it open as wide as you can then gently guiding it over your penis and around the bar, then just roll it the rest of the way down.
When I woke up again this morning 5 hours later the condom was half full with blood, but none of it had leaked out.
I'm noticing some swelling that I didn't notice yesterday and some small bruising around my frenum.
After urinating I'm usually left with a pain that fades out after about 10-15 minutes. It's not really a throbbing pain but it is noticeable and uncomfortable for the first few minutes, then it slowly dies out.
The actual process of urination is not as bad for me as it seems to be for some other people according to the other storys I have read here on BME. Maybe I'm getting lucky, maybe I just haven't gotten the worst of it yet.
Sea Salt soaking in warm water is a very soothing process, But over cleaning is bad so as good as it does feel try not to do it much more than twice per day with you're regular cleaning.
Be very gentle when you get into or out of bed, stand up or sit down and even just walking. When I've been home alone I've pretty much walked around the house with it hanging out so I can avoid it getting caught up in things or rubbing. It's actually pretty difficult to get used to your penis rubbing against your clothing if you are uncircumcised, But when I get a smaller bar I'm hoping that my foreskin will be able to roll over the beads.

It's getting around to the 24 hour mark now. Luckily the blood stains on my nice new sheets came out in the wash which I'm very surprised about.
I watched a movie earlier, and I don't know if it was when I fell asleep for maybe 15 minutes or somewhere during the movie and I just didn't notice; But when I checked my pants I a fair bit of dried blood in the area.
The swelling seems to have gotten slightly better, But the bruising is now much darker than it was this morning.
Tenderness is a minimum if I keep in one position such as being on the computer and or watching TV etc. Walking isn't too difficult either but I am trying to wear as little clothing as possible while I am home alone.
As far as positioning is concerned, I find it VERY uncomfortable to have the bar sticking out on both ends as it prevents my foreskin from covering the head of my penis and that is something I am not used to as I am uncircumcised, It's quite painful. So I have the bar pushed through all the way on the top of my penis so that area of foreskin can go over the bear and cover, the bar is sticking out completely on the other side and the foreskin covers what it can on that part.
It's actually quite comfortable and seems to be causing no problems what so ever, Plus I'm like 95% covered like I usually am so I suffer no discomfort from my penis rubbing off of my clothing.
It is now exactly the 24 hour mark of when I was initially pierced. Things are going quite smoothly so far, But it's no joy ride that's for sure.

About 29 hours after my pierce now. I'm writing again because I attempted to masturbate about half an hour ago. The thoughts of how different an orgasm could feel with this new addition to my body are pretty intense but sadly as you've probably already guessed it's a bit too soon.
Pain wasn't really the issue, BUt after about 10-15 seconds it started to bleed quite a bit. The blood I don't mind so much but the fear of possibly doing damage to myself or causing a rip accidentally forced me to stop..

After spending a couple of hours with my girlfriend and having some very powerful erections I'm pretty happy to report that the only bleeding that occurred at all was a very small drip of blood that came from my urethra at one point. This was less then a single drop for sure.
There was no sexual activity as I'm obviously nowhere near ready to even attempt that now, Just EXTREMELY light touching(with clean washed hands) that lead to the erections, No stroking at all because that could potentially cause problems.
I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of state I am in when I wake up in the morning.
Going to give myself a sea salt soak and then wrap it up and head to bed.

Well after about 7.5 hours of sleep I'm actually quite surprised to say that I woke up this morning without a single drop of blood in the condom I had been wearing to bed.
I was expecting another full one. There wasn't even any dried blood or crust around the bar or the holes either, So I'm very surprised.
Urinating this morning was a very small string of clotted blood buildup kind of like goo, then just regular urine. It was a small bit painful due to it being the first in the morning and quite a bit, So it was coming out a bit hard.
Sore/tenderness is pretty much at it's usual and the bruising has gone down a tiny bit, But very much though.
To be completely honest it feels like I'll never be able to have sex again. Now I know that's a foolish thought because I've read about the great sex people have with Apadravyas all the time, But when you have a very tender bar going through your penis the thought of how that bar is going to move when it's inside a woman doesn't really feel the best haha. At least not until the pain goes away, I'm just being weird.

We're at the 78 hour mark now, So I made it past 3 days. After there being no blood at all this morning I'm also surprised that I also didn't bleed today at all.
Swelling in my frenum is very minimum now and almost completely gone, bruising hasn't changed much though.
I'm still going to take the same precautions while going to bed tonight just incase.

Day 4!
Last night was very interesting, I gave in and masturbated. I really was expecting blood, I bled slightly before I started masturbating due to a pretty powerful erection, So I cleaned that up and thought about whether I should do it or not and decided to give it a shot but very gently. My strokes were mainly just on the shaft, I went as close to the bar as I could but still tried to keep my distance because obviously if I hit that even the smallest bit it could cause some damage.
Ejaculation was not as painful as I was expecting it to be. Actually it was less painful then urination, and no blood came with it.
My orgasm was intense, Whether because of the piercing or I hadn't done it in 4-5 days I don't know, But I'll assume it's due to the piercing.
After effects were less than enjoyable. The sensitivity left behind with the orgasm made for a pretty rough 15 minutes or more of throbbing pain and tenderness, It was difficult to stand up or move around because of the pain. I just had to wait it out really..
The actual process of masturbation wasn't painful though, But even so I don't think it's something I'll try for another while. The good thing is I got rid of that curiosity.
I didn't wear a condom to bed last night but I did put a towel on the bed just to be safe, Once again no blood. Tonight will be no condom and no towel as I'm fairly certain the bleeding is gone save for maybe some spotting.

Today wasn't so bed, Slightly different.
Bleeding has stopped completely which I was expecting it to do by now anyway. Walking was extremely uncomfortable today. I'm not really sure why because it hasn't really been an issue before this afternoon since I have had it done. A lot of throbbing as I walked and a lot of discomfort, But it faded as I stopped focusing on it.
I'm finding it a bit easier to get into some more comfortable positions when sitting or laying down, But I still have to be careful because I've shifted the wrong way a couple of times and it's been less than enjoyable to say the least.
January 11th, 2006 - 10:40am.
Today is the one week mark. The past two days have proven to be pretty painful as far as walking is concerned, Maybe it has something to do with the pants I've been wearing. It's just the bar rubbing quite a bit and it gets aggravating after awhile. I still haven't given masturbation another go yet and I really don't plan too until next week at least.
This morning was very difficult as far as walking was concerned, I took a long bath and I'm in the process of a sea salt soak now so it's feeling better. I've been hitting it and rubbing it a lot in my sleep so that is likely the reason for all the discomfort.
I'm going to enjoy this piercing a lot more when I can get a bar with a more snug fit this time next week, I also find myself wishing I was circumcised right about now.
I guess my theory would be: This piercing will be a lot easier if you are a circumcised male. Seems like it would be anyway.
When I started keeping this journal I figured I would end it about now, but I've decided to continue it a bit further just to give people a real idea of what they can expect when they get this piercing, Ideally I would like to continue it up until I start to discover the enjoyment of it so people can see that it is in fact worth it in the end. There have been moments where I desperately wanted to remove the bar and leave it at that, But I held on and continue to hold on to the fact that I'm going to enjoy this a lot when it is healed, Hell even when it isn't hurting as much.

So I just got my barbell down sized. The pierce was done 9 days ago. I went to Trouble Bound to get a surface piercing today(which I love!) and Craig asked me how it was doing, I told him about my troubles with the bar being so long and he said he would be able to change it if I wanted, So I said sure.
It wasn't bad at all, he removed both of the beads then put the new shorter bar into a receiving tube which he pushed through as he pulled out the old bar, so the pierce did not close at all, Then he slid the new bar into the tube and removed the tube, screwed on the beads again and I was all set.
I'm so much happier with the pierce now that I have a shorter bar! The 9 days of discomfort and pain I've had now are so worth it, So if you have any doubts at all hold on until you can get the bar shortened, because everything changes then!
Aside from that, I'll keep the updates coming as to how the next couple of days go with a shorter bar to see if that was indeed the cause of all my discomfort.

Day 10! Last nights sleep was incredible with the new barbell. Definitely the best i've slept since I've got this done. No rolling over and waking up in pain and no more having to be extremely cautious while moving around, It was great.

At 11 days I've decided to end this journal.
I realized that I'm probably going to be rambling about the same things from now on as the worst of this pierce seems to be over.
So sum everything up nicely: This pierce is DEFINITELY worth it.
I'm in love with it, I have yet to have a sexual experience with it but I am looking forward to it
The initial pain for me was bad, and along the way until I got the barbell there were some days where all I wanted to do was take it out and let it heal over, But now I'm glad I waited.
Out of all the genital piercings I had the option of having done this one appealed the most to me and it's a decision I'm certain I won't regret.
I'd recommend this to anyone!
I hope this journal helps you get a better idea of what you might expect if you decide to get this piercing. But keep in mind what happens to you and what has happened to me could differ greatly.
