It must have been a few months now that I was thinking about doing an Apadravya, but things are what they are; I couldn't build the courage to get it done pro. This is why the idea was still only an idea. I slowly looked into the anatomical conception of the penis, and I figured I could pull it together. I inquired to myself about how secure I was to do it and the major concern I had was to lose the connection, and have this wound. I started to look around for my best bet and I saw down stepped thread jewelry (Jewelry that the threads are a gauge smaller then the jewelry it-self). This would ease the insertion after a blade needle since I could fit the threads in the needle. I was on a quest to find a 14ga or 12ga barbell, 1½" long, with down stepped treads. I inquired around, looking everywhere, trying to avoid the custom jewelry since I couldn't afford it.

While I was looking around, I did a piercing with an angiocath needle. The insertion was easy, a real breeze. I started to look around for a supplier, when all of a sudden; I figured this would be a good way to ensure I don't lose the connection! It was the solution! I set an order with Wildcat for angiocath needles and a 35mm barbell.
Although I have good service, I do still have a month to wait between the time I send the money order and the time I get my package! Over the next weeks I looked around on BME for information, I must have read about 100 out of the 300's, I took time to read about the anatomy of the penis, and see what were the critical points I had to watch for, and so on.
Now, this is not my first DIY, nor my first genital piercing. Please take note that I've looked in books, informed myself as much as I could, I'm not running into this blindly. I know how to handle pretty much anything that can happen. I'm also aware of what I can pull together, and what I can't. PLEASE read this only for the info, don't do it at home! It can be pretty dangerous and get nasty very fast. You might not be aware of how much risk this can involve.
I finally got the needles (after a few days of struggling with the UPS services). I had everything in hand, but I was not totally sure about what I was about to do. I took the evening to re-read my anatomy notes and book, when I noticed I was reading the first line, and I could tell the whole paragraph. At this point I knew I was ready.
I waited another day just to make sure I wasn't rushing into anything. I first put some Emla on the marks, and in my urethra, set up my work station, got things ready for a few projects I have on the go. I washed my hands, gloved and moved on. I stretched my PA to 2ga (actually, I can't call that a stretch, I didn't need the taper!), I did a hafada, and moved on to the Apadravya.
I had marked it before; my PA is on the right of the frenum, so I did the Apadravya on the left. The entry hole was set under the head, not being comfortable to pierce through the head. I washed my hand, gloved, and opened my needles, receiving tube, gauze and jewelry. Changed gloves, and moved on. I sat down, and took the needle to the entry mark, but it was very blunt. Very weird since I'm use to piercing smaller tissues. But I placed the needle and slowly pushed the angiocath needle, but it was hard to know where I was heading. I thought about what I knew, I had to aim for the urethra; I felt with my fingers and aimed for it. I looked down, and saw the blood had moved into the needle, I started to feel nauseous. I picked up the receiving tube and lay down. I closed my eyes and focused on the needle. I could picture in my mind the diagram I had seen and drawn a few times and the needle moving into it. I kept on using my fingers to back up the needle since I could distinctly feel the urethra and the needle. I couldn't push the needle forward, it was very mind bothering.
I tried to change my mind, and a conversation I had came to my mind, it was about skin removal, and being shaky. I can't recall it all, but I basically figured I could push and by alternating the pressure (like shaking) it would slowly go forward. It moves quite fast, within a few seconds I had hit the urethra. I moved my receiving tube from between my pinky finger and the ring finger to index and thumb. I pressed it at my exit point, and started the shaky motion again. There was plenty of Emla, so the feeling was very tolerable. I finished the thing piercing, and kept on pushing the needle. I was scared to lose it once I'd taken off the receiving tube.
I took off the receiving tube, took out the metal core of the angiocath needle, and picked up the jewelry. I was impressed that there was only the tip of the needle that had filled with blood. Beside that there was no blood at all! I tried to screw the jewelry onto the catheter, but the catheter was too big; the whole jewelry was fitting inside of it (this mean I could have used a 12ga barbell). I pulled to remove the catheter, and leave the jewelry in place. And this is when the blood flow showed up! I first felt something hot dripping down my thigh and I had the reaction to pick up the pre opened gauze. I was bleeding at the jewelry insertion side, so I slowly tried to screw on the bead so I could focus on stopping the bleeding. But my bloody glove was slippery, and the bead flew off across the room (that was not enough that I had to clean myself, I'd have to clean my floor). I changed the gauze, and put a few more, took off my bloody gloves, picked up a bead from my jewelry stack, re gloved, and screwed the bead on. After about 30 minutes the bleeding had gone low enough to control it with some pressure and gauze. I picked up my mess, cleaned and sanitized my workstation and floor.
I took a shower about an hour after the piercing was done, there was minimal bleeding, but I was so proud to have it! I was so happy to have it done in a single sitting. I usually have to try several times before succeeding with a DIY. I took a picture, placed a bandage for the night, and I was off to bed. It took me like over an hour to fall asleep and about 30 minutes later I woke up because of some pain. I got to a point where I noticed I had a boner that wasn't helping at all! I got to the shower (still smelling bleach from the previous night), opened my bandage, there was some blood in the bandage, but it wasn't that abnormal. So I took a shower, using the running water to clean the piercing. I did a sea salt soak, washed the shower, and I was off for the day.
I'm writing this 12hours later. Since my shower this morning I didn't have anymore bleeding. The feeling of the barbell is still raw, but I'm in love! I'm planning to get some rattling barbells for the feeling, and stretching maybe to 10ga. I'm very happy with the result, I just can't wait until the swelling goes down, and the tenderness goes away!
Finally, don't repeat this at home, it's far from being the brightest idea I ever had! And even if I want to be a pro piercer this is not the best way to learn!![]()
