I wanted to write my review after my apadravya healed, but I'm too excited. My old roommate Phil had one, and he was constantly extolling its virtues. His girlfriend said it was amazing too, and this got me thinking about it. I have always had reduced sensation in my penis when using a condom, and this seemed like one way to help stimulate the head during penetration. Also, it's a pretty powerful statement of strength, even if you're the only person who knows about it. Not much can phase you if you had a large piece of metal shoved through the end of your dick. I used to have two barbells in my tongue, but that's not the same.
At A Glance Author Tyson Contact Tyson@bme.anon When Three months ago Artist Aaron McKey Studio Ink world Location Bracebridge I had been thinking about this for YEARS, but always made up lame excuses so I would not have to do it. A week ago, I finally called a local piercer and had a lengthy conversation about all of the details. We talked about pain, care, risks, benefits, and just about everything else. The fact that he had one too set me at ease. I had been so nervous and distraught about this for at least 4 years, but as soon as I made the appointment, all the butterflies vanished. I knew then that this was the right thing for me.
Today, I had a friend drive me into the city because I knew I would not want to fight rush hour traffic after something like this. At the shop, I talked with the piercer for a few minutes to recap all we had discussed on the phone. During this, I had a brief (about 1 or 2 seconds) moment of abject terror. It was all I could do to keep myself from running out the door. After this passed, I was relatively cool.
I decided I would be more comfortable laying down (smart decision), so I kicked back and started focusing on my breathing. I had read on BME that this helps. After he lined everything up, I checked to make sure it was centered, then I laid back down. Just writing about what happened next gives me goose bumps.
Since I was laying down, I did not see the exact process. When he said "take a deep breath," I knew I was in for it. The first piercing is like a PA. It hurt like holy hell. He brought the tube thing out through my urethra. I sat up, looked at it, and thought for a second that I might cop out and just get the PA. Thankfully, I was too dizzy to say anything, so I just laid back down. I thought the first half hurt, but it was not nearly as evil as the top part. This was the first time in my life where I KNEW that my brain was only focused on one thing, my penis in pain. It took a massive force of will to keep myself from arching my back when he did it. I let out a gasp/moan, and melted into the table.
In the moments after the piercing, I had the biggest non-drug induced high I have ever felt. My hands became supersensitive, my eyes dilated, and my chest tightened. It was amazing. I'm still riding that high 10 hours later. I walked kind of funny out of the shop, went home and laid down for a bit. After a few hours, I had to pee, so I hopped in the shower and let the warm water help me out. It was a big piss, and all that pressure and volume hurt a bit.
The care does not seem too difficult, but being a bicycle commuter, things might be a bit tough for the first few weeks. I'm just going to buy some boxer-briefs for support. I'm supposed to soak the piercing in a salt bath three times per day, and clean with this special silk soap twice. When I went to do my first soak today, I pulled off the tissue paper and a little bit of scabbing came with it. It bled and bled for a few minutes, and it turned my salt water filled cup a deep vermillion, but it stopped at some point. It's said that this is normal, so I'm not worried. It will be interesting to see how long I can go without rubbing one out. It's going to be at least a month before I can have sex, but I'm going to get the urge way before then.
We will see what the future brings, but I see good things. This was the single-most intensely-painful thing I have ever done, but it is absolutely worth it. If I can do this, I can do anything.
As a side note, I went with an 8 gauge, but kind of wish I had just done the 6. If you are thinking about getting an apadravya in one of these larger sizes, think about just going ahead and doing the 6. Supposedly stretching is not very easy with this.
