I became interested in piercings when I was about 12. I wasn't aloud to get my ears pierced until I was 17 (parents rules). I got both lobes done in the traditional fashion, but had to remove them for gym class, so I redid them myself at the end of the school year. Followed by impulsive decisions to self-pierce my lobes again on many occasions. I have 5 holes in my lobes, and a cartilage piercing done professionally. Also, my tongue was pierced professionally. Since then, I had started to think of getting a genital piercing.

Yesterday, I gathered the courage to get it done. My friend and I went together, on the bus, train, and subway to Infinite Body Piercing on S. 4th St. in Philly. We talked to the employees for a bit about or choice, we both figured out we wanted 8g jewelry. My roommate got a PA with a captive bead ring. I got an apadravya. I made my friend go first because his was less complicated, and he probably wouldn't scream and freak me out. He came out of the room after about 5 minutes with a radish flushed face and eyes wide. I asked how it was, "Dude, dude, that was intense," was his response along with excessive nodding. This settled my nerves a bit. Jon, the piercer, walked my back into the room, and sat me down to discuss my choice. He seemed a little skeptical about my knowledge of what I was getting myself into. He asked if I was just going for the look, and I said, "No, the apa is in the Kama Sutra, and that is what interests me." He seemed satisfied with my answer and started setting up. We discussed his crazy piercings that he had been stretching for 12 years. We also discussed his career. He's been piercing for 9 years, and in that time he guesstimates doing over 1000 apadravyas and and uncountable PA's. He has also never run into problems with apadrayvas, any complications he has seen has been due to lack of care. These are exactly the things I wanna hear before I trust a guy with running sharp steel through my soldier. His credentials definitely calmed me. He went over aftercare and warned me that my little man was going to bleed pretty heavily for about 3 days. This all sounded ok to one side of my brain, while the other was yelling, "What are you thinking!"

Within a few minutes, I was on my back, pants down. My friend and I both had this experience: our wieners were incredibly small at that moment, almost as if they knew what was coming and they were trying to run inside and hide! He marked up my "head", explained the lines he was drawing, clamped my glans, and grabbed the biggest needle I have ever seen. I then slammed my eyes shut, and took some deep fast breaths. He said, "You ready to rock and roll?" I replied, "Hell no, but do it anyway." The next thing I remember is the sharpest, strongest pain I have ever experienced. He had to push three times. I handled the first push with a cringe, but by the second and third I let out some mean screams. It only hurt for a few seconds, which was well worth the AMAZING endorphin rush. I have honestly never experienced anything so intense. The piercing is worth it, just for the rush. I guess you would expect the greatest endorphin high after the epitome of pain. I left the room and saw the placed packed; they had all heard my screams. And most of them asked if I was ok. I was, but it hurt! The walk to the subway was funny looking, to say the least. We were getting strange looks from everyone (with good reason). I suggest anyone not plan to walk very far after a genital piercing. Our 15-minute walk turned into a half hour ordeal. I didn't bleed during the piercing and after the long scuttling trek back to the subway; I only spotted a little bit. However, I woke up today, and I had soaked double layer 4x4 gauze with blood. I urinated (which stings a little) blood, along with a huge black clot. I've gone through 3 gauzes already today.

If anyone were considering this piercing, as of now, I would recommend it. I have no soreness whatsoever, and managing the bleeding is not a big deal. My friend and I are very pleased with the added aesthetic value. Honestly, they look awesome. I'm sure if you are reading this, you've seen pictures online, but pictures are lame compared the beauty of your own personal adornment. I look forward to going to the bathroom, because I get to unwrap the gauze and see my new toy!
