I've had a bunch of different piercings over the years – lobes, tongue, septum, cartilage, nipples, PA, and frenum. I've also had an Apadravya twice before – 14 ga in 1999 at Wicked in Berkeley, and an 8 ga that I did myself in 2001 – but I took it out both times because sex and healing were a bitch to deal with. I always liked the way the apa looked and lately I've wanted an Apa again. This time I didn't care if other people complained about it or not.

I thought about getting it done at 8 ga or 6 ga. I just remembered how much it hurt at 14 ga and 12 ga when it got pulled on at the wrong time – that made me scream like a girl! I had read that thicker gauges are more comfortable in that respect. I talked to my piercer, Christian at Inflictions, and we discussed the various size options. We settled on 2 ga. He'd scalpel it to 4 ga and then immediately taper to 2 ga (since there aren't any scalpels in the equivalent of 2 ga). He'd also use a titanium barbell so that the weight would be less and be better for healing.

Christian called me on Wednesday to let me know the jewelry had arrived so I stopped by the shop that evening for the procedure. I dropped my pants and we discussed placement and the procedure. I then lay down as he was about to slice me open. This was the most traumatic part. I knew this was going to hurt like a bitch cause I'd had it done before. I also remembered how much more the tapers hurt than the actual piercing, so I was pretty nervous. I lay there with my hands gripping the sides of the table, taking deep breaths in anticipation of the procedure. I'd told Christian he didn't need to tell me when he was going to do it, so I lay there expecting the pain with each exhaled breath. The scalpel hurt but it wasn't so bad – it felt like a localized and very precise hard pinch – but the taper was unbearable. It was more like a dull and aching yet more intense pain. Still, it was over in a matter of seconds. Within a minute or two I felt no pain at all and save looking down to see the barbell in my cock, I wouldn't have known anything happened.

The first few nights were alright. There were a few little drops of blood and I soiled a couple pairs of boxers, but it was all going according to plan. I wrapped my penis up in toilet tissue and paper towels on Thursday and on Friday I left it naked in my pants. I even went to the gym on Friday night. That was what I worried most about – having to miss working out in order not to screw up the healing.

Saturday was a bad day. I was ok over night and when I woke up I was hard. I figured it felt healed enough to jerk off, so I did. Still no problems – I got up, showered, and ran some errands, went to the grocery store, etc. I came home, ate lunch, and then I noticed I'd just started bleeding. It wasn't gushing, but it was consistently about a drop or two every 10 seconds. I easily filled up a lot of toilet tissue and paper towels with blood. At that point I didn't think much of it, assuming it would stop on it's own. But it kept going for a couple hours. I called Christian for advice and he suggested soaking it in really cold water to help the blood clot. That didn't affect the bleeding so I got in my car and drove back to Inflictions. Christian took a look at it and we figured that the bleeding was coming a specific spot behind the barbell, right where one end of the scalpel's incision had been. The barbell must have snagged on something cause the scalpel's incision to extend a tiny little bit.

He bandaged up my penis tightly and making sure the top of the barbell was putting pressure on the area that was bleeding. This was really uncomfortable, and I didn't know what I was going to do to pee since I had to keep this on for as long as possible. I also picked up some liquid bandaid and liquid skin stuff from the drug store.

When I got home the bleeding continued so I started applying liquid skin. Eventually I got so much on there that the bleeding, while not stopped, was much less. I covered that with toilet tissue and wrapped the whole thing up. Somehow that did the trick and the bleeding stopped after a few more hours. That was kind of scary, though, especially because all I could do was wait and see, and stay almost totally immobile in the meantime. After that little incident it healed up great! I ended up redoing my meatomy and changing out the apa for a reverse PA, and I have a 6 ga CBR in there now.
