I came on here to day to write my story about my nipple piercing but you know how it goes. Needle in, no fuss, vertical nipple, no problem healing. Instead I would like to write about "the one that no-one can pronounce" my apadravya.
Not long ago I got my first piercing, my industrial. At that point I had been using BME as a research tool. I had heard of genital piercing but it was definitely not for me. I was brought up in a conservative household, we will have one of that here!!! However after my industrial it had gone from not for me thanks, to one day! Then came my nipple and it changed again from one day to when am I free enough to get this done. I got it done because:
1. the sex is supposed to be much better for my partner and sex is all about pleasing her.
2. if I get this done I can do anything
My usual piercing parlour was a friendly place but I did not have confidence in the piercer's ability to perform an apa. So I researched again. Several possibilities turned up, the closest to me was charging £75 (approx $138! at this time). I thought this was a bit steep so I turned to the other alternatives. One 3 hours away in Brighton costing £25 or a member of the APP costing £28 (approx $50) which was only two hours away, Exeter. So it pays to do some research. The main thing that drew me to Exeter was not the price but the fact that they are one of only three parlours in the UK that are part of the APP (Association of Professional Piercers)
After emailing Exeter Body Piercing to ask some questions, I found a date where I had two days free in a row (very important) and emailed again to set up a date. The confirmation was emailed back and I was all set. Only one thought entered my head: what have I let myself in for?
The day before my apa I did the normal things, ate well, slept well, no drink or drugs and was looking forward to it.
The drive up to Exeter was two hours and my girlfriend was accompanying me, much to my delight. We arrived early so we wandered round the shops first and about an hour before my piercing had a meal. Then came time!
The parlour was stunning. Well laid out, and to walk to the reception you first had to walk past the piercing rooms which again were surgical. Nik, the lady doing my apa introduced herself. The paperwork was filled out and I confirmed what I wanted. The other piercer (male) looked at me like I was mad. I was taken to the room to be needled.
Now it was odd dropping my trousers in front of another lady whilst my girlfriend (who didn't want to so me in pain) was only in the reception. Again I was talked through the procedure. 2mm needle in, taper up to 2.3mm and 2.3mm barbell put in. Now I was trying to relax, but being naked in front of a total stranger wasn't helping. She washed her hands, gloves on and got all the equipment out. Changed gloves and clamped me. This was just uncomfortable. Changed gloves once more and she asked me to take a deep breath in...
...and OOOWWWWWWW!
Nothing was said by me just a lot of heavy breathing. All I could think about was fuck this hurts. Imagine pissing razor blades and amplify the feeling by about 1000!
Then came the taper which again hurt like all holy hell, then the barbell which hurt less but still. But then what was I expecting? I knew it would hurt. And it only took 5-10 seconds. No biggy when I look back.
The first words I spoke after what seemed an age where "Jesus". I was told I had done very well. After the period of wooziness I was mummified. One war wound sized plaster, wrapped in toilet roll then gloved and finally taped. By this point there was no pain. None at all. I was also given a lollypop (woo-hoo!). I was led out to my girlfriend and the other piercer. Paid for my apa and away we went. My girlfriend was surprised not to hear screams or at least swearing (when it comes to swearing I am that bad I almost have tourette's!). No more shopping, just straight back to the car for the drive back home.
In terms of underwear, the debate rages on. But I have to say from experience that it doesn't matter whether you wear boxers or y-fronts as long as they are tight enough to provide support.
The first piss I was not looking forward to but I had been told to drink lots of water to keep my urine dilute. After unwrapping myself from my bandages I looked at my penis. Wasn't too bad, not too much blood and a barbell through my glans. The first piss was unusual but I had been told to sit down for the first time, consequently I didn't see anything bad. I rewrapped myself up with a sanitary towel (panty liner) so I could sleep without bleeding. I did not want to start with my salt soaks until the next day. I tried to get comfortable but it is really strange how much my penis gets in the way as I sleep. The next morning I woke up and my makeshift bandage was not where it was supposed to be but there was no blood on the sheets. Really needing a piss a went to the toilet and was shocked by the amount of blood I pee'd out. This was the same for the next two days, pee, blood and re-bandage. The day off really helped.
All was good until the third day. I was at work (I work in a bar so lots of walking) and my bandage fell off. There was no blood on it so assumed that I had stopped bleeding. Boy was I wrong. One hour later I felt something trickle down my leg. Yep, lots of blood so I wrapped up again. I didn't stop bleeding until day six so if you get this done be careful about this.
The other major problem was indirectly caused by the piercing. I am not circumcised, and so obviously I had to pull my foreskin back to be pierced. I tried to pull my foreskin back into place but it was too painful. After a few days like this, the foreskin itself started to swell up. By day six it was sore and was too swollen even to move. The bleeding may have stopped but I was still wrapping up my soldier to protect from knocks. On day seven I went to my local doctor as I was slightly concerned. I was told that I had paraphimosis, a condition where due to being pulled back the foreskin swells up like a tourniquet. It will continue to swell up until the end of your penis is effectively dies. Often seen in hospitals in uncircumcised men who have had a catheter put in by a junior doctor who has left the foreskin back Not a good thing, so the doctor told me to sit at home for the rest of the day with my man in a bucket of ice to reduce the swelling. I dutifully did this and by the end of the day I could put my foreskin in its normal place. Now some twelve days after I am healing well and have had no problems.
Everyone who knows I have had this done has been fairly accepting of it. Plans for more... will have to wait a while. Definitely not, maybe, one day, soon.
