For my first real piercing I wanted something big. My first thought was that I wanted Frankenstein-like neck bolts for my penis. That idea didn't survive finding out that piercing erectile tissue, i.e. the shaft, can leave you with nothing more than a decorative water spout. Maybe it's just a rumor, but at 23 it's not a risk I'm willing to take. My remaining choices, as far as I saw them, were a PA, an ampallang, or an apadravya. Honestly, I think I decided with the apadravya because it was such an over-the-top concept, coupled with the fact that they can look damn cool. Also, from all the research I did I gathered that if you want a piercing that will enhance sex for both partners, the apadravya is the big daddy.

I know a lot of people who have had work done at Forever Art in Hornell, NY. I asked as many of them as I could about their experiences. Once I felt I had a pretty good feel for the place, I actually went in.
I went in on a Wednesday afternoon. I browsed through the flash art books they had lying on the coffee table while I waited for Lori to take care of some other customers. When she was done with them I started talking to her about what I wanted done. She was, of course, very professional and made sure that what I said I wanted was what I actually wanted and helped me pick out my jewelry. Initially we decided on an 1 ¼", 14g straight barbell. I made my appointment for the following Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 and honestly didn't give it much thought for the next 6 days. I think it was so far outside the realm of possible for me that I didn't think I'd actually go through with it.
When Tuesday rolled around I got up and showered just like normal. I made sure the get something to eat about 11:30 and got to the shop a little early at about 12:45. I had to wait while she pierced someone's tongue. I took the opportunity to pee while I knew I was still able to. When it was finally my turn she had me fill out the requisite paperwork while she autoclaved my barbell. We went back into the piercing room. She closed the door and drew the privacy curtain over the observation window. It still hadn't entirely sunk in and I was cool as a cucumber. Not from nerves of steel, just ignorant bliss. She had me drop trou and hop up in the chair. She laid out all her tools and everything on the table next to me, showed me that everything was sterile, etc. She swabbed me down with disinfectant and then introduced me to the receiving tube. This was a new concept to me, especially the fact of where it was going: inside. Way inside. I wanted the barbell to come out the top rig ht at the ridge of the glans. In order to do that she had to get the receiving tube up there quite a ways. When she was finally comfortable with the placement of the receiving tube she told me to take a couple of deep breaths and she'd go on three. One, two, three... I grunted for most of it, but eventually I had to just scream. It hurt like hell, but only during the actual piercing. Once the needle was in I couldn't really feel it. She told me to count to three again and she'd put the barbell through. I did, she did, and I honestly don't remember feeling that at all. And then I bled. A lot. For like 20 minutes. We went through probably 7 or 8 gauze pads before the bleeding stopped. When it finally did Lori brought in the camera and snapped some pictures from a couple of different angles. We bandaged me up gingerly on the off chance that I were to spring a leak, she briefed me on aftercare and I drove myself home. I was terrified about how much it was going to have to hurt th e first time I peed. Thankfully there was a little bit of initial stin g and that was it. It was a cakewalk from then on in. Almost.
Honestly, for the first week or so, I could tell there was something there that wasn't necessarily supposed to be there, but there was no pain. Except when I slept. I never had any problems with bleeding, but any sort of pressure from any direction caused some pretty severe pain. That includes getting an erection, which puts pressure on EVERY angle. Additionally, while the 1 ¼" barbell was perfect for just hanging out, it was a little bit too small when I got wood. After 2 weeks I went in and had her switch the barbell out with a 1 ¾" that fit much better. There's a little bit of slack when I'm limp, and just a little bit of pressure when I'm not. For the first week I would wake up once or twice a night and have to walk around until things went down. Then I realized that my boxers were causing a lot of extra pressure. No underwear = no problem. I could sleep again.
It's been a couple of months and everything is fine. I've stretched it to a 12g with designs on an eventual 10g. The 14g was just too thin. No scarring, no infections, no migration. As for performance benefits, it's not as astounding as I was hoping, (I was looking forward to having to be revived by paramedics,) but it's definitely better. As for things from her side, apparently it's amazing. Extra pressure anywhere it's needed/wanted and just a little bit of extra sensation. Think of it as studded for her pleasure. Definitely the best $76 I've spent in the last 5 years.
