Just a few days ago after much debating at work with the other cooks I decided it was time to try my next surface piercing project. I got off work, went home and showered (who wants to smell someone who just worked ? Take a shower before you go people)and headed to the the piercing and tattoo studio I prefer to spend my cash at. After being in damn near every one of these businesses in town Needful Things is undoubtedly very sterile and very comfortable. As always I was recognized and acknowledged as soon as I came in the door. The staff is always friendly, informative and welcoming. The days project would be one of the next two I was planning, surface bars on my inner forearms in gradually receding lengths. Long story short, no such luck as there were no surface bars in stock. Oh the humanity, what could I do? Not one to waste a trip I started asking questions on the other piercing I have been contemplating. The apadravya.

It would be now or never. As the studio can get and was a little busy at the time, I never felt like I was being shortcutted or rushed by the piercer in any way. After many questions I asked the only one that mattered : "Well do you feel like doing one tonight?" After a slight delay I received my "yes". Oh joyous day!
Being the considerate person I am I let the next person go ahead of me as I knew that we could be a bit longer than the average piercing. While waiting I filled out the mandatory paperwork and went to do the deed. For those of you who don't know, you need to get a full erection and measure it with basically a slide rule to properly choose the jewelry that fits you. So there I was in the worlds coldest and possibly cleanest bathroom trying to sport wood. Never had to work so hard in my life for an erection. Got my measurement, washed my hands and came out. There was a nice little paper towel for the measuring instrument to be put on so it could be taken to the autoclave. I felt so dirty.
A few minutes pass and it's time. Oh crap am I really doing this? Is it too late to change my mind? What are you thinking? But the other ear was hearing the voice. You all know the voice. The one that says "Do it you pansy! Oh sure back out and just go get your purse Alice. Maybe mommy will take you for ice cream tomorrow and you will feel better." (No disrespect to anyone named Alice who owns a purse or anyone who has ice cream with their mothers intended.) Yes the voice was loud and thunderous. So here we are in the room, shades pulled, door locked, and there's the adjustable exam bed. Stirrups in position. After dropping drawers and stepping up into the chair I realized for the first time I could never be a woman and be this exposed and naked. It is amazing how your senses are amplified during times like these. The temperature, the smell, the sound of the air coming from the vent. Everything.
Fast forward. I am marked, placement is checked and approved, clamps are in place, piercer and piercee are in position. All systems go. Rob reminded me this was a 2 push piercing due to the top of the glans being tough skin and so on. I acknowledged and then it came. "Take a very deep breath - and exhale" . Now the pain was not necessarily extreme but it was definitely less comfortable than milk and cookies. OK push two is coming up and I breath in deep and exhale and push(insert mutual straining here). "Sweet that's two pushes" I think to myself. Well here comes the third push and this is where the breathing started to come rapid, the realization of how tough and unappreciated that flesh really is and the cold hard reality that it can always hurt a little more. Push three is done! I am saved from embarassment. I did not cry nor scream aloud. I can look in the mirror behind Rob and then I see it! Oh crap ! Only about 6mm of the needle is through the top. Rob tells me To take a deep breath again and quickly and efficiently explains what is going on. This last push I am looking at the needle willing it to go through. Rob is pushing with everything he has. We are both straining and bam! It's through and done. No pain. No nothing just sweet release. Jewelry placement and the mandatory glove, gauze and rubberband placement are painless and uneventful. We talk for a few minutes concerning the piercing process, healing process and a visit next week for a picture. No problem I assure him as my surface bars are ordered and we can do it all on my next trip downtown.
Now to answer the obvious questions. Did it hurt? Yes but pain is subjective and varies with the individual. Personally I think my nipples hurt more as far as pure physical pain. There is just something about piercing your penis that plays on you psychologically. It is not as bad as it seems in retrospect. Once the piercing was done I felt zero discomfort. Seriously none of that "penis slammed in a car door" stuff I anticipated. No pain the second the piercing was done. None since. Bleeding for me was minimal the first night. I had three quarter sized spots and that was it. Almost zero spotting on day two after a night of drinking. The first urination was a bit unsettling at 6am. The clotting and blood buildup is a rude awakening but it does not hurt nor burn. I have urinated progressively minimal amounts of blood since then to the point that I don't see any at all now. It feels different when I urinate. I can't describe it, but it does feel different.I am on day three and a s I type this leaning in my chair my keyboard sits across my lap on top of my penis. It is that comfortable already. I had no bleeding with my first erection and I am awaiting the chance to test drive my new penis. Thank you for your time, and I will try to submit pictures within a week.
