Let me just say that getting your genitals pierced is a very serious thing. Something that requires a lot of thought and preparation for and that you definitely need to do your research on the piercing that you want done. That said; let me tell you about my Apadravya experience.

I turned about 6½ months ago and shortly thereafter I got them pierced. Then after that I got my navel pierced no more than 2 months after that. Then the piercing bug bit me again. I knew that one day I would get my penis pierced but I didn't just want the normal Prince Albert that most guys get. I wanted something exotic that the girls would love and that I would love. I started looking around at the pictures on BME and I saw a picture of an Apadravya. I told myself, no way am I getting that done. Then I started to read the experiences and talk to people that had them and it slowly but surely began to grow on me. I knew that an Apadravya was what I wanted.
I talked to my friends and was like, "Hey, I'm going to get my dick pierced." They couldn't believe what I was saying. They told me I was nuts and that it would get infected and fall off. I told them that it wouldn't and then explained to them how the piercing worked and they were shocked that I would get a needle stuck straight through the head of my penis. I was a bit shocked that I wanted it also, but that just made me want it even more.
I called Michelle at The Hole Experience close to the beginning of October and made an appointment for 5:00 P.M. November 21, since that was when I would be getting out for school for Thanksgiving Holidays. She said that was cool and asked me what gauge I wanted it at and offered to measure me to get a good fitting barbell and one that didn't pinch when erect for the healing phase. I told her that I would get back to her on that one. I call her back a few days later and tell her that I want it pierced at 10 gauge with a 1½ inch barbell. She said that would be fine and that she was looking forward to the appointment.
Well, November 21 was on a Friday and it was Monday when I started to get anxious/nervous about the weekend. I was so excited I could barely control myself but I was also nervous about getting my penis pierced. A few week before I had placed an order at the BME/Shop and ordered the infamous "Guess Where" shirt, some acrylic barbells, and some EMLA cream. Yes I ordered and anesthetic. I knew I wouldn't be able to get that pierced without a little help. So, the day comes and around 4:00 I apply the EMLA cream and put a condom over my dick since the EMLA requires an anaerobic bandage so it soaks into the tissue in order to numb it. My friends come over around 4:15 and we are all ready to go. It seems like it took forever to get there. I decided that I needed something to eat but we were running a little late so I just snacked on some Snickers on the way over there.
We get to the shop and I walk up to Michelle and say in a quite voice, "I'm, uh....here for the, uh....apadravya." She says she has been waiting and tells me to follow her into the room so that she can measure to make sure everything is good. I ask to use the bathroom first and she says ok. So, I go in, take off the condom, use some toilet paper to clean the rest of the cream off, and give my dick a few good flicks to make sure everything was in order. Well, can I just tell you that EMLA cream is a god send? It worked like a charm. I couldn't feel squat. So I walk out and into the room. She grabs her caliper and puts on some gloves and tells me to pull it out. I whip it out and she measures and says, "OK, go finish the paperwork." So I leave the room and finish the paper work while she sets up. I pay and we go into the room.
Ok, Michelle is a very good piercer. I completely trust her. I walk into the room and she locks the door. She asks if I am nervous and I tell her that I am. I told her that I used the EMLA cream and she said that was good and it will help a little bit but it isn't really able to penetrate that far into the tissue. That makes me a little more nervous but then she talks me down and shows me the packaging for the needles and everything. I can't remember if she used clamps or not. I think she did but I am unsure. So, she sets up and she tells me to put this paper towel with a slit cut in it around my dick so that incase I bleed it doesn't get everywhere. So, towel in place, and we are ready to go. I sit back and put my thumbs on the bridge of my nose and tell her that I'm ready. She says that on the count of three to take a big breath and to exhale slowly. Can I tell you that I held the last breath a little bit longer than the others? Well, I did and wham! It felt like my dick was being put in a pair of pliers. Well, it didn't hurt that much. It hurt, just not in the same sense of pain as most of us are accustomed to. I knew that there was a needle going through my dick and that I should be feeling pain but it just felt like a lot of pressure was being applied to my dick.
Well, the piercing wasn't the most painful part of the process. My nipples getting pierced hurt more, to an extent. The most painful part was when I woke up in the middle of the night with a full on erection. That was the most painful thing that I have ever experienced. It was then that I decided to take about 6 Ibuprofen to help with swelling. After that I took about 4 Ibuprofen every 4 hours or so to help keep the swelling down and to help speed the healing. It has been just over a month since I got this piercing. I have yet to get to "test drive" it but I have given it a few manual work outs. I am definitely looking forward to using it whenever it is fully healed.
If you are pondering whether or not to get an apadravya, I would definitely suggest that you do your research and know your piercer. It is a not a piercing for those feint at heart. It is an intense piercing to say the least. If I had to do it again, I would definitely do it. The reward is worth it.
