My girlfriend has been contemplating genital piercings since before we started dating, but finally decided to take the plunge and get one on our three-month anniversary. I had wanted another genital mod myself, so I thought it would be real cute of us to get them done at the same time (I also figured that this way, we'd heal around the same time, which would keep frustration down to a minimum). I had wanted a lorum ever since I saw the picture of Martini's on SPC, so I decided that I'd go for that, only with an 8g barbell instead of a scalpelled plug. We went down to body graphics, the same place where I had my PA pierced, and talked to Deidra about what we would get. After a long explanation of why a straight barbell in a lorum would eventually cause migration, I decided against it. When I told her that I was looking for a piercing that would provide more functionality t han what I already had, she suggested an apadravya. I had thought about getting one many times before, but I'd read about the pain factor involved, and it scared the hell out of me. During our talk, my girlfriend had decided on a triangle piercing, easily one of the most intense genital mods that a female could ask for. If she was going to take a plunge like that for her first piercing down there, I decided that I could definitely take one for what would be my third – I told Deidra to set me up for an apa.

The receiving tube for my PA had really killed, so while she was marking me for the piercing, I asked if there was any way to avoid it. She said that she could clamp it and just fit the tube through my PA hole, which would also make the piercing go quicker, since the tissue would be thinner. I was all for that, so she got her clamps out and ready. After making sure all the markings were centered, she clamped me and told me to relax and start breathing. I'll have to mention that the marking and clamping itself took about ten minutes, and during this time, Deidra was cracking jokes and making for a really relaxing atmosphere – it was easily the best piercing experience I've had yet. When she was about to do the piercing, I grabbed hold of my girlfriend's hand and tried as best as I could to focus my attention elsewhere. When I felt the needle hit my glans right before she told me to breathe in deeply, however, my mind went straight to the piercing – a second later, on th e exhale, I had a second of intense, intense pain. The tissue was thick in that area, so it took longer than usual to get the needle through, and I remember cursing and groaning in pain – my breathing became very heavy, and there was an intense soreness where the needle exited for about five minutes afterwards, during which I just lay there with Deidra holding gauze over the wound. It started to calm down shortly after, and by the time I left the shop, there was virtually no pain whatsoever. It's been a week since getting it done, and honestly, it hasn't hurt since the initial piercing (except for getting hit with direct shower spray – that hurts!)

After staring at it in the mirror for a few hours, I realized that the piercing itself was straight, but my penis was kind of lopsided – so it looked a bit crooked. That's a problem that's going to be somewhat remedied when I turn the piercing into a halfadravya and extend my PA hole into a meatotomy – but that's another story. Like I said, it's been a week since the piercing was performed, and my dick is still wrapped in gauze to catch the blood that's still coming out of the hole. The initial swelling in the glans went down after a day, and the bruising around the hole is a lot less noticeable now then it was at first, and the amount of blood on my gauze has decreased a lot – but it's still not looking anywhere near healed. I had read lots of experiences where people said they held off on orgasm for over a month because the piercing was so sore – but I went for it after three days with no pain. I was gentle as hell, so as to not upset anything, but everything was in w orking order and the apa felt great. My girlfriend's triangle, on the other hand, while not that painful to sit through (so she says), has been sore ever since getting it done – so there's some jealousy there. All in all, I think I had a better apa experience than most of the ones I'd read about. The piercing itself is intensely painful, but I would still recommend it to anyone interested. I've learned that procedural pain really shouldn't be a deterrent to modifying yourself the way you want to – so don't let it be.
