apadravya day one
At A Glance Author satanboy Contact satanboy@bme.anon When A week ago Artist anonymous Studio anonymous Location columbus ohio Doing an apadravya was not originally an idea I had thought about. I talked to a professional piercer in town ,(name withheld, lets call him Joe), about getting a reverse PA. I was originally considering a PA and then thought the reverse would be more along my type of style, a bit different, and a little more useful. Joe suggested I consider an apadravya. I said "an apahardya?" and he said "no apadravya", and then explained the piercing. I thought about this for a few minutes. We discussed aftercare and how it would be placed, the intensity. . . etc. After a few minutes more, I asked him if he would do it to me. Joe has been the only person to have pierced my body, he is extremely knowledgeable, extremely sterile, and is just basically the only person I could trust touching my penis for any length of time while holding a needle.
So, I decided to get it done. I called Joe and set the time up. A few things worth mentioning about preparation for an experience as intense as this.
1) eat a good meal a few hours before.
2) no drugs, or alcohol etc.
3) take a shower right before, use antibacterial soap.
The shower part is more for his sake than mine as he was prepared to cleanse the area quite thoroughly.
I called Joe on the day of the piercing and we again went over aftercare, we discussed what to do in emergency situations such as if I were to get sick, or pass out. I was quite nervous about the latter because I had never had anything done to my penis and was worried I might react in a negative fashion. We discussed the gauge of needle and decided on a 10 gauge as that was small enough for the eurethra but big enough to allow for less movement. An 8 gauge may have been too constricting and may have induced extra swelling whereas a 12 gauge may have migrated a bit. We then discussed the angle of the piercing and Joe explained that if your penis hangs to the left it may be a good idea to compensate for this, or if it hangs to the right to compensate for that. The other consideration was webbing and this was the deciding factor on the angle of entry. A good piercer should know where the piercing may migrate and should compensate for this.
So, on to business.
Now I will describe the setup which may not be optimal for most people, but for me I wanted to be comfortable so Joe came to my home. This gave me a bit of breathing room. I could be in my home, where if something bad happened I felt more comfortable to deal with the situation.
Joe was kind enough to accommodate my wishes and we went upstairs to my room.
We adjusted a light, placed a towel under me and set up sterile napkins on a chair next to the bed which housed all the piercing materials. Joe the cleansed my penis thoroughly. He washed it a few times with some special soap. We then again went over point of entry and exit and placed dots with a type of dye. Joe then clamped my penis. I had him clamp it pretty tight for a simple reason. This means less surface area to pierce. I figured it would go through quicker the tighter it was. Joe then gave me a moment to prepare. We then counted to three and on the third breath Joe slid the needle through. The piercing took a bit longer than my tongue or nipple piercings. The pain was not horrible, although I am normally used to having a piercing quickly done with, this one did take a bit longer. It went through the first 2/3s fine but the last 1/3 of the penis was when I began feeling the pain. It came sharply and intensely and my third breath was already done so I grunted for a mom ent to continue the breath going as he penetrated the top of my penis. I held my eyes closed during this process and I remember seeing kind of a whiteness like if you were hit in the head real hard. Joe finished the piercing by running the taper through and then the jewelry and tied the ball off. During this process I was breathing very quickly and I was very flushed. Joe placed a cold pack on the back of my neck which seemed to help my shaking body. I had the most powerfull endorphin rush I have ever felt at that moment and lay on the bed quivering. I took a second to look at my penis and it was not really bloody at all. It just had a nice barbell through it.
I thought it looked pretty.
So on to the rest of the day. Joe and I talked a lot about aftercare and we discussed things he has seen from friends and from personal experience. By this time, we had encased my penis in a sterile latex glove to capture the bleeding. The glove filled up a bit. There were little pockets of blood in the fingertips but this is normal. As the penis heals, you may bleed a lot. Joe told me of one friend who woke up to blood all over his genital area the day after.
I put this rubber glove inside of a Ziploc bag and threw it out. I used another and went to the grocery for some condoms. I picked up some NON LUBRICATED condoms with NO NONOXYNYL 9. They were trojans in a red box.
I have gone through three of these condoms and the bleeding has slowed down. It is much better now. I took a shower with some medical grade soap its called Satin from Care Tech Laboratories. I cleansed my penis of the blood, but it is still bleeding slowly. I have been fine as far as feeling ill. I have had no sickness or spells of dizziness. I have had no problems with burning, soreness etc. My penis has a very light ache but no other issues. I was very concerned with my first trip to the bathroom but was pleasantly surprised to find the sting was not much worse than if you take a pee when your penis is still partially hard after sex.
Conclusion for day one:
I am happy I had the piercing. The pain is somewhat intense but not horrible. Doing this takes a lot of commitment. Think about it long and hard. I consider trying nipples first, as they were the closest intensity that I have felt.
Day 2 - the morning after . . .
I woke up today at 7 am after going to bed at sometime near midnight. I do not sleep this long normally but I guess I must have been tired. When going to bed, I took Joes suggestion and placed a towel on the bed and removed the condoms to allow for quicker healing. My penis was semi hard in the morning, so no morning wood. THANK YOU SATAN. heh heh heh. Anyways, I was lucky I think not to get a hard on in my sleep. I had a circle of blood around 5 inches in diameter on my leg and my boxer/briefs were damp with blood.
I took a lukewarm shower. I used medical soap and cleaned my penis, picking off the pieces of caked on blood and cleaning out all the dirty bits.
Urination was pretty tough. It stung a bit more than last night. I attribute that to the clotting. There were quite a few blood clots in the toilet water this morning. The water had a weird orange hue. I think this was due to the Blue Tidy Bowl cleaner that was already in it mixing with my blood and the urine. Weird.
I am now wearing boxer/briefs and have a nonlubricated condom over my penis. Again, this just helps to keep me from bleeding all over the chair at work. I work in the Insurance business, a very conservative industry, and this is something I can't exactly tell my boss about, so I am going to need to keep things clean but yet be super quiet about everything. This is going to be tricky.
I am now going to take a little nap before going to work. Wish me luck. . .
I came home from work today. I did a salt soak, took a shower. The condom idea worked pretty well for containing the blood. I took a lot of five minute breaks and just kind of changed condoms and washed my penis off. The bleeding is a slow drip now, It's not too bad. The barbell is a little sore and there is a slight bruise on the top of my penis where the needle came out. The piercing looks good, it needs healing but I can tell that with the proper care this is going to be fine.
Day 3
I woke up today with very little bleeding. It seems healing is progressing rather well at this time. It is still tender but not really painful. Note to anyone who does this, make sure you have no strings from your bedspread floating around for it to get caught on. OUCH.
I did a salt soak this morning, this helped with urination. Urination was not very bad, still a bit stingy. I feel confident bleeding is not going to be as bad today so no condoms today. Just going free with a pair of boxer/briefs. They are tight enough to hold it still but are much more comfortable than "tidy whiteys".
I am still washing the area with Satin, and getting rid of "crusties". The salt soak helps a lot with this and seems to help with the clotting internally. By soaking before urination, it tends to relieve the pressure and to allow for a lot less pain.
Walking is still a bit tender, which may be a side effect of the boxer/briefs. This style of underware holds it tight to the skin, and may cause a bit more rubbing. I am using these however so as not to snag it, as snagging it on folds in clothing is much worse than just having a little discomfort.
Day 4
Waking up . . .
There is not much bleeding again today it was just a little crusty and scabby but not really bad at all. I think the salt soaks have really helped for the mornings. These break up the crusties and let me urinate pain free now. The salt soak really helps during the shower, I get rid of all the blood clots easy as pie with a little scrubbing and satin. The exit and entry holes are still a bit reddish but that is to be expected, I am sure that will be the case for at least a couple weeks.
The pain is pretty much gone, there is a little discomfort from walking, but all in all, its virtually pain free now.
I can now move the bar in and out (I have a longer one than normal for swelling, etc) and it does not really hurt too much. Just kind of a dull ache when I move it. Pretty weird feeling is all. I am glad I have been taking the time to get rid of the crusties, as these would hurt like hell if they got inside the piercing.
Working is not too tough. I don't do too much walking around, no lifting. I basically sit at a desk so its a pretty simple issue. Glad I don't have to lift boxes or anything, I can tell that I would need a few days off if that was the case.
I guess all in all, things are better than expected with the apadravya. I am very pleased with the feel of it, although its still sore I can already tell this is probably going to be as pleasurable for me as for my girlfriend. I think I will start jogging again as soon as I can.
Day 5 - last entry and conclusion
I woke up to almost no blood, just a bit of crustiness around the piercings. It's not really bleeding at all. I did experience morning wood this morning. It is a bit painful but not unbearable, I guess I was lucky to not have that happen for five days.
I went to work today, no real pain. I don't really have any discomfort now. It's all pretty much healed up. I wouldn't go have sex or anything stupid right now, but as far as walking around and being normal, it's totally fine now. I will say though you got to watch how you sit, the barbell can get in weird positions sometimes.
So I am concluding this diary and real life account of the apadravya for a number of reasons.
The main reason I wrote this was to give an honest account of the piercing and the healing process. I could write for 4 more weeks about salt soaks, and showers, but I think that is pointless at this juncture. I hope everyone is able to benefit from this story and that it allows you to be prepared for any weird things that might happen in the course of this piercing. Some of this information is embarassing to me, but I left all details in so as to be complete and so others would not have any nasty surprises.
The apadravya is certainly a piercing I would recommend, but I would also not say you are a wimp for not getting one. This piercing is something you need to consider and be prepared for. Its no simple labret, this piercing takes a long time to heal and takes a lot of dedication to make sure it heals properly. If you decide to get one, post your info here in BME, this will let others know what to expect and may help those who are less fortunate that do not know anyone else with piercings. Remember those weird stories you hear from your fellow piercers? Just imagine doing this and never knowing anyone else who had done it. . .
