PA to Apadravya

I had a 14g PA done just under 2 years ago - I posted that here under "PA at Cold Steel". Cold Steel in Camden, London is an excellent piercing studio - I still buy my jewellery there by mail order but being about 2 hours away from we live I didn't go back there for my latest escapade, an upgrade to an apadravya.

At the time I had the PA done my wife was pregnant and I was allowed the self-indulgence - although she was very interested and supportive.

The PA healed pretty easily, having observed the usual good advice. It wasn't long before I discovered it was interesting to play with larger gauge jewellery and surfing the wave of endorphins. I eventually got up to 0g - to give you an idea how much I got into it, I had a graph of diameter and surface area against time so that I knew when it was about the right time for the next size up - or conversely when I was being a bit over-optimistic. It took about 8 months to comfortably get to 0g, although I would leave the 2g in most of the time. After that it was a case of take out the big jewellery, give it a chance to shrink back down, then repeat the exercise. Of course it became a little easier each time. I was surprised that it never actually closed up. With the larger jewellery I preferred a straight barbell, but that made me just think that I'd like an apadravya. From what I'd seen and read here on BME it looked and sounded a better option for a couple of good reasons (i) the PA had done nothing for sex and my wife didn't like it, and after a couple of attempts I took it out each time before sex. It was too vulnerable for play and ruined oral sex, so it really became a personal toy rather than a shared one. My wife still liked it, but not the larger stuff - and (ii) I was getting really pissed off with the social disadvantage of not being able to pee successfully in any position other than sitting down. I tried all the recommended remedies ("twist it through 90 degrees, point it magnetic north and double the number you first thought of" etc) and was getting increasingly irritated by the inevitable randomness.

The months pass, and my wife starts to think that she'd like to have her nipples done. By chance on a day when I'm off work she looks through Yellow Pages and finds a piercing place near us in Guildford. We trot down and find the place run from the back of a hairdressers by an aged Italian chap who looks and behaves just like a sincere and kindly uncle. Not what my wife had expected but she's game and goes for it. While I'm there I ask about the apadravya, which he's happy to do too. My wife then re-appears seemingly moments later having had both her nipples and clit hood done! That does it - I'm up for it and in I go and lay down for my turn. The aged uncle has such a thick Italian accent that it's not always easy to understand what he's on about, however he's very sincere and eager to please so it might seem rude to back out now. His piercing procedure and sterilisation look OK, he marks the ubiquitous dot on the head just over half-way down the top/back, applies some anaesthetic cream (which probably should have been on there just a tad longer than a few seconds before he started) and I lean back for what I'm expecting to be quite painful (the down-side of reading other people's piercing experiences). I think the pain lasted for about three or four seconds. At the point where I started thinking "F&*k that really hurts!" and started doubling up, it was over. Then I realise it's not over as he starts to insert the jewellery. Not as painful as the piercing, but again over very quickly with no residual pain.

I sat up on the couch and looked down as a spurt of blood shot out of my penis - he cleaned it up and there wasn't any more. He applied a pad, made sure I was OK, and after the payment formalities we were on our merry way. He gave me a longer barbell in case the one he'd fitted was too tight. The one he'd fitted had a jewel in the top barbell. It certainly looked nice and the wife was most impressed, but it got to be a problem during sex - not because the jewel was faceted and too rough, but because it was too tight, so it had to go.

Anyway, the first few days were surprisingly easy going. Riding a sports motorbike to work 30 minutes each way wasn't a problem. No burning pain as I did when peeing after the PA, just a couple of soggy clots on the first day, a few spots of blood for a couple of days after, the only notable problem being that it became increasingly apparent that the barbell fitted was in fact too small. The main problem was waking up in the middle of the night with a raging erection, the top ball pressing very painfully into the head - and if the barbell had any of the inevitable crusties it was particularly bad. The one he'd give me as an alternative was about 20mm longer and no practical use, so I ordered a few from Cold Steel. Getting the 2mm longer replacement in was no problem, and the first time we tried it properly the wife was very impressed. Since then I've started stretching (what else?) and in the two months since it was done I've gone from 16g (1.2mm) to 10g (2.5mm). It's very comfortable (forget it's there), fun (it goes right through my willy! and I can play with it!), and sensual (my wife think it looks good AND it hits the spot), no scar tissue and hardly any crusties these days. I've got an 8g (3.2mm) barbell in the cupboard, but that's quite a largish jump so I'll let this one settle in for a couple of weeks. I don't know if I want to go larger than that - I don't want a massive hole in the head - so I'll see how it goes.

Do I regret having it done? Not a chance - I love it and think everyone should have one.
