After having a PA I was constantly thinking what next! The PA was ok but
unfortunately it was not done correctly and if it were not removed it would
have completely migrated out. So after a fair bit of research and deliberation
I decided on a deep apadravya as opposed to a ampallang. The reason for a deep
apadravya was that I did not want the piercing to go thru the head of the
penis. I happened to find a doctor who specialised in piercing's only. I know
this is not the norm butI had to give him a try, he had an excellant web site,
he also lectures to doctors at the university all the fine arts of piercing. I
think it is good that we are starting to see the emergence of piercing
friendly doctors.
Once I gathered the nerve to go the doctor I went to the
surgery and waited for about one and a half hours (which seemed like days)
wondering how much more it will hurt when compared to the PA. Well this is a
bit silly since the PA did not hurt at all. The moment came and he applied a
large quantity of emla cream to the penis then a condom was placed over it. I
was then asked to sit in the waiting room again for another 20 minutes for the
cream to do its work and numb the penis. Twenty minutes later I was back in
the room and lying on the table/chair just as one would expect to see in a
doctors room. He had all the gear from cleaning equipment to the autoclave,
everything was properly cleaned and hygenic. During this time he told me a few
jokes to keep me calm and during this time the doctor began to put on his
disposable robe, gloves and face mask. He then measured the penis size and
unfortunately came to the conclusion that he did not have a straight barbell
long enough to fit through my penis. He said it was big!!! I have seen many
larger than mine at the local nudist beach but nonetheless I had a sense of
pride given my extreme disappointment. So today was not going to be the day
for the piercing as he was going to need to order one the correct size. He
gave me a small tube of emla cream and advised me to apply the cream 20
minutes prior to attending the surgery, thus saving me waiting time.
I had
to wait for another three weeks before I was given a call that the jewellery
had arrived. Again I became excited and couldn't wait to get there and just as
luck would have it that very day I was summoned for Jury duty and it could be
many weeks before I could get to the surgery. All my luck was not bad and the
very next day the Jury was allowed to go home early due to a legal
technicality and I went straight to the surgery. I applied the cream and
placed a condom over it so that I did not stain my clothing. The doctor saw me
almost immediately and I laid down on the table eagerly awaiting for the
moment, he put on the relevant protection and then proceeded to give me a
local anaesthetic. I was somehow relieved that there was going to be no pain
yet felt that something was missing. Anyhow he proceeded to mark the entry and
exit points. He then began to insert the 14 gauge needle and amazingly it hurt
near the centre, that is, when it penetrated the urethra and we knew he hit
the spot correctly as blood started to come out the penis head. A few moments
later it was all the way through and he inserted the 14g barbell. Then he had
a tight hold on the penis for about five minutes until the bleeding stopped.
He then gave me a female pad to protect my clothing and absorb any excess
blood.
During the first two days there was very little bleeding, only a
small drop would appear when I urinated. I am uncircumcised and unfortunately
this part of the skin (the bit that normally goes over the head) began to
swell. By the third day there was a severe swelling, so much so that the head
of my penis was over twice its normal size. It became quite painful and little
activity such as sitting still all day in the jury seat was quite a task. I
had to call the doctor and he immediately asked me to see him. Although
uncommon it was not unusual for this to occur and he prescribed some drugs to
ensure that it was not due to an infection and also help reduce the swelling.
He also advised that the swelling be wrapped in a elastic bandage, similar to
how we treat say a swollen ankle, in order to restrict and contract the
swelling. After a few days the penis quickly returned to normal size and now I
admire the new piercing.
