Sometime in late '97 I decided that I wanted an apadravya and that Keith Alexander was who I wanted to perform the piercing. Through various hitches of scheduling, getting down to NYC, getting the right jewelry, etc it became August 1999 before it happened - but it happened.

8/4/99 - I realize that I have the time, jewelry, and inclination so I call up Keith and some other friends to arrange a day trip to NYC to get pierced. Within an hour, I go from having nothing to do the next day to driving to and from NYC with a piercing in the middle.

8/5/99 - I take an hour longer to get to DV8 in Manhattan where Keith is currently piercing due to some problems with mapquest directions but everything is fine. One of my best friends in the world, Gregg, is waiting for me. I talk a bit with Keith and Gregg, give Keith my jewelry for cleaning and autoclaving, and then Gregg and I head out for a quick lunch and to get some coffee for Keith. The latter of which ends up with me having to repeatedly explain to the clerk that "yes, I really want black coffee - no cream, no sugar, none at all". Two slices of pizza later we return to DV8 and head for the piercing room. I ask Keith for a suggestion on boxers v. briefs since I don't generally wear underwear - he suggests briefs initially, along with the standard "experiment, find what works for you". I take off my shorts and get on the table; a brief discussion of Trojan War mythology ensues when Keith sees the golden apple tattoo on my hip. Back to work: the area is cleaned and marked, I check the marks, we discuss the marks - they are fine. I lay back and get to relaxing as much as possible. When I give him the go ahead, Keith lines up and pierces. I guessed it took about 2 seconds to pierce - it was actually more like 1 or less. There was some discomfort but in the time it takes to ouch it's already over. I did make some noise - I was trying to say "Keith Alexander is touching me" but it just came out as a groan. : ) I took a moment for composure before insertion, which led to more talking which meant I got more than a moment - Keith had to interrupt me running off at the mouth to remind me we still needed to put the barbell in. If not for obvious 'snagging' difficulties I might have liked to wear the needle for awhile though. Insertion was expertly done and then I sat around for a little while yapping some more. During this whole process Gregg was taking pictures with my digital camera - there's nothing like a good bleeding genital pic. Before I got dressed Keith put a glove over my freshly pierced glans to catch any bleeding and that was it. I ended up hanging out at DV8 for awhile before driving home. I wasn't bleeding much after the piercing but by the time I got home and took off the glove (at least 4-5 hours) there was some blood - which made for even better photo oppurtunities. There was not much soreness though and I was not bothered at all walking around or driving. After the first cleaning in the shower I couldn't resist and gave it a "test run" which was a bit sore but in a good way. Keith remains one of the best piercers in the world in my estimation and I know I couldn't have made a better choice.

8/6/99 - I woke up this morning with a fair amount of blood on the underwear I wore to bed. Nothing serious, but enough bleeding to warrant being mentioned. The blood did manage to pool enough to go through the underwear and stain the sheets. Still no real soreness. It looks great. Now to sit around watching tv with my glans in glass of warm salt water.

8/7/99 - Still getting some bleeding, mostly overnight. My guess is that nocturnal erections and some rolling around in my sleep are responsible. Still wearing briefs and all seems fine. I have now mastered the art of sitting on the edge my couch holding my penis in a cup of warm salt water and flipping channels with the other.

8/8/99 - Considerably less overnight bleeding. Also, I worked a substitute shift last night which involved a fair amount of running around (doorman / bar-back) with no difficulty or soreness.

One week later and beyond - Multiple daily soakings have worked very well and I am healing quite nicely. Back to no underwear, jewelry feels great for play - but I do miss the bloody ejaculations from the first couple days.
