Well, Brandy did it again! Over the years I have yearned for a host of genital piercings, most notably a glans ampallang. Well some months back, and chronicled here at BME, we took care of this. Then about a month ago or so we did a second glans ampallang creating sort of an ampallang ladder; by the way, I am going for a third glans ampallang within the next week or so. All along, while I lusted for a glans ampallang, I truly have ALWAYS wanted a shaft ampallang. Problem is, few guys have them and fewer piercers have done them, want to do them, want to take the time to read about them in order to do them, or will do them (too many 'problems' could occur, etc.). Well, after my second glans ampallang I asked Brandy at Nile Studio in Milwaukee, Wisconsin if she's ever done one. Nope, but she would be willing to do some research and then do it. Great!

Folks, I completely trust her with any piercing on me, as she is meticulous in her approach and detail. I wasn't afraid in the least bit even though she had never done one before. This IS total faith! So, about a week ago we did it --- sort of. First though, neither she nor I knew what to expect. Again, there is not a lot written about this piercing --- either by a piercer or piercee. She did not know, from the piercing end, how it was going to feel while pushing the needle through --- resistance, bleeding, etc. From my end, I didn't know what to expect as far as the pain factor goes though I don't think I could feel anything more intense as my second glans ampallang. O.K., the day arrived and I stopped by Nile for it to be done. As usual, Brandy paid close attention to detail as she performed the markings. We decided for this one, and if this worked well we would do more in the weeks to come --- a shaft ampallang ladder if you will, we would place it just underneath the 'head' and above the urethra. She got it all set, put on the clamps, lined up the needle with the dots, told me to take in a super big deep breath, and she pushed it through; she then proceeded to slip on the barbell. Wow, only one push and nearly zero pain. Neither she nor I could believe it. This was almost too simple we both thought. There was a little blood (very little actually) so she began cleaning it up. As she was doing so I noticed a perplexing look on her face. I sensed she wasn't totally pleased with the result. I was right. She said that the needle must have slipped a bit (I had to gather myself for a second prior to her pushing the needle through) and that it didn't catch all of the muscle as it went through. She showed me and we both immediately agreed that it was too close to the surface of the top of my penis --- it literally looked like a deep top frenum piercing at best as you could actually see the barbell. Damn! I certainly wasn "\Ãw€ë 't upset at her, not in the least bit, just upset that it didn't turn out. We decided it was best to remove it (bled like a mother f&*%er) and try again on a different day. No problem!!!!
I went back the following Monday to have it re-done. She looked at the entrance and exit holes from the last time and concluded we had it correctly placed but it probably was that fraction of delay that made the clamp move ever so slightly that it caused it to slip a bit and not catch all of the muscle. So, she re-used them as landmarks, put on the clamp, lined up the needle, and told me to breathe deeply as she pushed the needle through. Now this was a shaft ampallang! It took her three or four pushes for it to go through. The tip of the needle finally appeared and she told me to hold "super still" so it would not slip. I obliged of course. She slipped in the jewelry and it was done. There was a little more blood than the first time but nothing overwhelming. The pain? Not particularly bad at all. Certainly nothing near my second glans ampallang but it was certainly intense. It wasn't that typical 'burn' pain. It was more of a dull pressing pain but it certainly wasn't hideous or anywhere ridiculous. We looked it over and were both pleased with the outcome. This clearly went through the muscle and is a very real shaft piercing.
Healing has been going well too though it seems a bit different than my other genital piercings. It seems that the skins has to migrate a lot more as it settles in which caused more daily spot bleeding than what you'd usually get. That lasted for over a week and one-half. The piercing is VERY secure --- it is through the muscle versus a surface piercing (e.g., frenums, etc.). Other than that, pretty uneventful.
As I said earlier, I am heading back for my 3rd glans ampallang and after that, a second shaft ampallang. Yes, I'll do a shaft ampallang ladder --- it'll be interesting to see how many can be done as there is a huge vein that runs through the shaft on one side that could make for an interesting placement problem to the point that maybe the ladder will consist of only a couple of piercings. We'll see. Anyway, I am game for whatever....
Is this a piercing for everyone? Good question. I believe firmly that a glans ampallang should be a must for any guy wanting a male genital piercing. The shaft ampallang is another question. No doubt it does add sexually as you can definitely feel it upon achieving an erection but it doesn't add nearly as much as the glans version. I love mine and am glad I have it. Obviously I like it enough to get more but overall, I am not sure every guy would want one as much as me.
So, here's the current count (but this will be outdated by the time this is posted). Three top frenums (12 gauge), 2 side frenums (12 gauge), one shaft ampallang (10 gauge), two glans ampallangs (one 12 gauge and the other is a 10 gauge), PA (00 gauge --- for now), 6 'underside' frenums --- 3 are 10 gauge barbells, 1 is a 12 gauge barbell, one is a 10 gauge circular barbell, and the other is a 2 gauge circular barbell that is due to be stretched to 0 gauge in the next few weeks). As I mentioned, I'll be heading for my 3rd glans ampallang in the next week or so and then a few weeks after that, my second shaft ampallang. I'll fill in both the top side and underside with at least 5 more frenums over the coming weeks too. And what isn't known is how many, total, shaft ampallangs we will be able to do. I am game for as many as possible.
As I have said so many times before, Brandy does an awesome job and is a great lady too. I have referred friends to her as well and I'd recommend her to anyone thinking of getting any piercing done. Thanks again Brandy --- you're the BEST!!!
