I have wanted to do this piercing for 2 years. Finally, it happened! My recent journey to this long-awaited piercing took a circuitous path. Over the last month or so, I've visited Altered Evolutions many times to grow my genital piercing collection (which now numbers 17 --- a pair of dydoes, 2 top frenums, a PA, 2 scrotals, 9 'regular' frenums, and my new ampallang). During this time, I'll admit that I chickened-out three times with getting my ampallang. How dumb! I had myself all worked up for what --- a piercing I truly wanted to get but was deathly afraid of the pain?! I read too much on-line stories and had way too many mental gymnastic episodes.
At A Glance Author Jim Contact Jim@bme.anon When A week ago Artist Brandy Studio Altered Evolution Location West Allis, WI (outside of Milwaukee) I have had great experiences with both piercers there. I'd highly recommend either to anyone wanting to get pierced. Both Brandy (who did my ampallang and I chickened-out once on) and Cherie (who I chickened-out twice on) are great. They take their time, are thorough, totally sanitary, and down-right nice ladies. Well finally, I visited Brandy last week for the ampallang. I was really psyched and I 'knew' this would be THE time. As usual, Brandy took great care in cleaning the area, marking it numerous times to get it right, showing me and asking for my approval. Giddyup, time to pierce! Brandy put the clamp on and asked me the all important question, "are you ready?" Mentally, YES, but my heart, once again, was racing seemingly out of control. I was thinking --- NOT AGAIN!!! I am sure Brandy was thinking the same thing! She assured me everything would be fine. I asked for a moment to compose myself then exclaimed --- "I'm ready!" I felt the needle tip touch then took in the deep breath as she instructed (she told me beforehand it may take 2 or 3 seconds to complete and I may have to take a couple of deep breaths during the procedure). Bang, the needle went in. I felt no pain; it seemed like the needle stuck 1/2-way through and Brandy said, "we're almost done, I need you to take in another deep breath and blow out." I obliged and she pushed it through. I looked down and saw both ends of the needle through my head and it was a rush. She exclaimed --- you did it! Yep, I did and I felt sky-high. She pushed the jewelry through (I didn't feel this at all) and tightened the ball on the end. Best yet, very, very little blood. I was expecting a lot (she was too) but this was not to be.
We talked about the experience for a bit in the piercing room and out in the lobby. I was so torked up I actually wanted a second one --- suffice it I was on a huge adrenaline high. I left knowing I'd be back to continue my piercing journey.
I got home and still, very little blood. Did a sea salt soak before retiring to bed. Then, whoa, something unexpected. The usual nocturnal erections occurred but this was different. I felt an usually sharp pain that woke me up from a dead sleep. My PA got pushed backward while I was sleeping and it went up against my urethra which had pressure from the other side due to my ampallang. OUCH!! Went back to sleep but it happened again, and again. 10 times total throughout the night. I knew Brandy and I were very careful with the placement. I did not have it done transurethrally as my PA is somewhat large (4 Ga and will be stretched) so I had her place it on the top side of the urethra). I couldn't figure out what was going on. I called her the next day and she hadn't heard of this before; I hadn't read it anywhere either from other's experiences. She was going to check around to see if this was 'normal'. We surmised it be from the bruising and internal swelling. The next night, it happened again but not nearly as often and when it did, it didn't hurt nearly as much. Yet, I called Altered Evolution the next day and talked to Cherie --- Brandy had the day off. Cherie asked me to come in so she could look at it to see if something happened since the piercing took place. Negative....all seemed totally fine. She agreed with Brandy's and my assessment that it was probably from internal swelling/bruising and that I should give it a week to see if it subsides as the swelling decreases. If it persists, we'd redo it.
I am happy to report that I am in the fourth day and the pain is subsiding substantially. It is still there but not nearly as sharp. I believe our hunch was dead-on as I also can see the bruising going down. More than likely this will continue to diminish over the coming days to the point everything is back to normal.
I know that everyone is different but I read so many ampallang horror stories that I nearly didn't go through with it. I am glad I roused up the courage to do it. Here is one story with a very happy ending and I'd encourage any guy that is thinking of getting a genital piercing to get this one. I certainly enjoy my PA but this one will definitely rank up there as a favorite too (kind of a 1a & 1b). Even if there would have been extensive pain, the end result is phenomenal. I obviously haven't had the opportunity to experience having sex with it yet but it is a totally stimulating piercing.
I'd also highly recommend Altered Evolution to anyone that lives in the area or is visiting and wants to have a piercing done. Like I mentioned, both Brandy and Cherie are great. Thanks ladies for putting up with my initial cowardness and for all the care you've shown while doing my piercings.
