My ampallang experience happened nearly 3 months ago to the day!
At A Glance Author Tim Contact Tim@bme.anon When Three months ago Artist Bish Studio Purely Piercing Location Geelong, Australia I had always been curious about the piercing after hearing about it through mates, and how they would never get it done because it would fall off and a multitude of other reasons. Then by a stroke of luck I was watching TV and there was something about tribal culture and piercing and the ampallang was mentioned and from then on I was hooked! This was going back nearly 4 years now.
Up to this stage I had never had a piercing done before, and understandably I was a bit scared, but luckily thanks to trusty BME I was able to look and read until my heart was content, which took a while because I wanted to be sure about everything. After getting in the frame of mind needed, I then had to find a place, which would do it for me.
I tried a few places, most wouldn't touch me, but I got in contact with the piercing urge in Parham in Victoria, but the price was a little out of my student income being nearly $200 (Aus). My lovely girlfriend who lives near Geelong told me about purely piercing and since we were going there that weekend for her to get her tongue pierced I thought I might as well ask the question.
We got there filled out the forms and the good woman went out the back to have her tongue done while I had a bit of a chat to the lady in the shop. She was great, told me everything gave me a pamphlet, which was really informative, and I left it at that for the time being. (I don't want to sound like an add, but the ladies at purely piercing are tops! They made me feel so calm and relaxed, they are awesome, and they do great work.) Anyways, back to the story I went home with my slobbering girlfriend with her swollen tongue and we talk the piercing over, not to my surprise she was 100% for it :)
A few weeks after that I had booked myself in for 10 am on a Saturday morning with Bish, who does the genital piercing. It was a bad night before that didn't get much sleep really nervous, but got up early and had a very sugary breakfast, and a coke on the drive up. A few deep breaths before I walked in the door and I went in, the build up to this is HUGE! Went in said G'day and unfortunately Bish was in a car accident the night before and couldn't make it too work. Most importantly he was all right and we made the appointment 2 weeks later. I was really disappointed but I could tell that 'old mate' was a bit happy about this outcome.
This gave me the chance to measure myself up for the jewellery. Back we went 2 weeks later same brekkie same build up but this time we were on. Bish was there I shook his hand (a top bloke) filled out the forms and disappeared out the back. I handed him the measurement and the famous words were "Drop em Blossom"
He drew on the dots, which I was happy with the first time and so was he. Straight through the urethra, and I tell you what the old fella by this time has retreated to my lower abdomen because he knows what's coming. It was time.
The clamp was on this was a little uncomfortable, Bish told me too take three deep breaths, I did this and on the third breath BANG! This coming from someone with no previous experience it was not as bad as I had thought, not to say it didn't hurt, but nowhere near as bad as I had prepared for. Needle was through clamp was off, and then the real pain came, putting through the plastic sheath, this was the pain, but it was through and the barbell was in within 15 seconds I reckon, and that was it I was done, and I felt great the sense of accomplishment was indescribable you are on top of the world. I paid and I left with a bag full of rock salt, instructions and an appointment for a 2-week check up.
Aftercare was salt bath 2 times a day for the first 6 weeks, then once a day till 8 weeks, and weaned off from there. It was really a pleasure to care for, no pain very little blood, and knocking didn't seem to be much of a problem. However the day after it is done, beware of the morning stiffy!
Nearly 3 months now and it is like it has been there my whole life. The sex is the absolute best for both parties involved and you will wonder how you did without it. And it looks fantastic! (Don't want to brag)
So to finish if you are thinking about it, go for it, I am no tuffy with pain and I had never had a piercing done, but if you want it bad enough you can do anything.
