I write this article as a reaction to and an addition to the article 'Ampallang Joys & Woes' of the 23 of June.

My first genital piercing was about 5 years ago. It was a pubic piercing and it was merely a test to see how my body reacted to piercing in the lower part of my body. The piercing was rejected exactly 2 months after the placement. The only thing that's left of it is a scar of 15mm. Apart from the rejection there were no complications nor infections (this was what I feared most).

I decided to get a PA piercing. It was first done at 2mm and subsequently stretched. I constantly where a circular ring in it. The stretching was problematic just when I stretched from 4 to 6mm. I had a stretcher which went from 2 to 8mm and probably overstretched the piercing. There was massive bleading when I removed the stretching tool. I let heal the piercing for 2 months and everything was fine. Afterwards I continued stretching. The PA poses no problems exept for going to the toilet. I can urinate standing when paying very much attention, but sitting is indeed easier.

When the PA was at 3.2mm I decided to get an ampallang. The initial idea was to stretch the PA to 8mm and the ampallang to 4mm. But you know, ideas can change over times. For the piercing of the ampallang the piercer removed the PA-ring. After the piercing he replaced the ring and put it over the bar of the ampallang (which was pierced at 2mm through the urethra). This was a bad idea. The movement of the ring was restricted by the bar that went through it. After 2 days I had to take the ring out, just to let heal the ampallang for 3 days. When all bleeding was stopped I put in the ring again, this time under the bar.

The two piercings lived happily together for about 2 years. When the PA was at 8mm the placement of both piercings posed some problem. The yewels needed the same space in the urethra. At first I drilled a whole through the ring through which the barbell went. The ampallang piercing was at that moment at 2.4mm. Although both jewels had its own place the fact of connecting them prohibited the ring to rotate or the move sideways. I had to abandon this solution because of the pinching and rigid situation. Afterwards the ring was again placed just underneath the barbell, after a few days both yewelry could move freely.

The PA was stretched to 10mm. This was relatively easy and caused not much pain. The ampallang was slowly further stretched from 2 to 4 mm over 2 years time and I can assure you that stretching an ampallang is REALLY painful. The last stretch took me 2 hours and I was in constant pain for about the whole night. Three months after the last stretching the ampallang started to form crusties at both sides of the penis. The flesh around the bar inside the piercing also disappeared at some place so there became an open wound. The reason for this I still don't know, but I think that the contact of the 2 yewels was the reason for the problem. There was however no sign of migration as mentioned in the previous article, and I don't think this can happen with a barbell of 4mm through the glans of the penis. Although I am uncut the foreskin poses no problems. Because of the huge ring it stays naturally retracted.

Living with the piercings made life much more fun. I wore the piercings the whole time, except when travelling by plain. I then take out the PA ring just to prevent difficulties at the airport. Even one month after the 11 septembre it was possible to pass through the metaldetector when travelling to the Caribeans with a metal bar of 4mm thick and 40mm long through my dick.

It's about one year now that I took out the ampallang piercing because I think it had to result, sooner or later, in some serious infection which was the last thing I'd like to happen. I'm now living with one PA of 10mm and two scars at both sides of the glans. I will soon stretch the PA further because the constant wearing of the ring enlarges the whole more and more. I am not thinking of taking out the ring for some time because I can't live anymore without the extra sensation it provides.

If I had known from the beginning that I would stretch the piercings so far I probably should have placed the ampallang much more further to the base of the penis and non-urethral. I'm considering of repiercing it this way and as thick as possible just from the start (I really don't like the pain stretching an ampallang).
