Every once in a while a piercing comes along that scares the living shit out of you, for me that piercing was my Ampallang. This was not my first genital piercing, I have had a frenum, PA, and an Apadrayva (the Apadrayva was done with Xyilacane so it doesn't really count), but it was definitely my most painful.

My reasons for choosing Joe to do the piercing range from knowing that he is well qualified to do the piercing and the fact that I am also an apprentice under him.
On the day of the piercing I was extremely nervous. I knew that I wanted the piercing really badly, but I was told that this was like the most painful piercing so that kind of made me nervous. When I got to the shop that day I talked to Joe for a little while about how the procedure was going to go. He told me that it was going to be like my other piercings, painful but I'll live.
Joe told me to relax a lit bit because I still had some time before he was going to do the piercing, and he said that I still needed to pick out my jewelry. So as I tried to relax a little bit I went into the piercing room to look at the straight barbells that we had. I pulled out two barbells. One was a 12 gauge inch and 3/16 and one was a 10 gauge inch and 3/16. I looked at both of them and decided that if I was going to do it I might as well go with the jewelry that was going to be the most comfortable, because I have all ways hated too small of a gauge in my genital piercings, plus my Apadrayva was done with a 10 gauge barbell so I figured why not, lets go for the glory with the 10 gauge. Now that I had the jewelry picked out I could relax a little bit so I went to the lobby area of the shop to watch some TV.
After watching some movie that I wasn't really paying attention to for like an hour I told Joe that I was ready to go, so again we went back into the piercing room. As Joe closed all the curtains I began to set up for the piercing. When I finished setting up I got onto the piercing table and dropped my trousers. As I looked down at the cart that I had just set up my anxiety began to grow and my mind started to race. When Joe finished cleaning me up and carefully marking me to make sure it was straight he put on the forceps, and the pressure from the rubber band on the forceps made them hurt so badly. Now I was really nervous, if the clamps hurt that badly what does the piercing feel like. I told Joe that I needed another minute to think again before we continue on with this piercing, so Joe backed the pressure off the forceps and removed them, I think that it hurt more to take the forceps off then it did to leave them on. Now that the forceps were off and nothing was hurtin g I closed my eyes and tried to calm down a little bit. Joe was really helpful through this and kind of led me through a guided meditation. About a minute later I gave Joe the okay to go ahead and put the forceps back on. Well needless to say they still hurt a lot when they where on there.
At the point I am just lying there on the table, no pants on and a pair of forceps on the head on my penis. I had reached the point, the point where I really needed to decide if I was going to continue on past this point, kind of like the point of no return. Deciding to go on was a very difficult decision to make. I was right there, all cleaned, all marked, ready to go, but was my mind ready? I told Joe that I needed to have a few minutes to my self, and I really needed to clear my head. I laid there for about 3 minutes just thinking and I told my self, sure it's going to hurt, but so did every other piercing that I have gotten and I lived through all of those with out a problem. Plus I remembered my motto "Its pain, but with a purpose."
I took a few controlled breaths in and out and told Joe to go ahead with the count. When he got to 3...BAMM!!! In the needle went. My god did it hurt so badly, ok now the Jewelry transfer. HMMM...that wasn't so bad. The forceps had to come off again but I could handle it. Now the blood started, Joe quickly packed some gauze pads around it and put a clean latex glove around it. And it was over.
I felt so relieved when it was over. I was so happy that I had accomplished something that I feared so much. My Ampallang was truly a life altering accomplishment. UPDATE. I have now had my Ampallang done for nearly 3 months and I have loved every minute of it.
