I had been working at Uprock for about a month. A studio and skate shop in West Texas. I had been informed that it was a tradition for the guys to get their "cak" pierced. Knowing that my time was soon coming I had to make some decision, the first was if I really wanted this... My conscience dictated that this was something I definitely wanted to do. The second was which piercing I wanted there were quite a lot of options. I had pretty much all the information I needed right there in the studio, so after talking with Shawn my co-worker and friend who had recently gone thru the procedure, and had said that his had gone very good and he loved it, I decided to go all the way and do the most "extreme" one... the ampalang.

After the decision it was time to get ready for the piercing itself, Sonny who was the master piercer and my boss said to be courteous and make sure I was trimmed and washed up. So we set out for Midland after my shift at the Odessa store. When we arrived there, Mosca was not present, so we waited; my nervousness grew by the minute. Soon all my coworkers were there with the exception of Mosca, finally he made it. We talked about the jewelry and procedure and all the other fun stuff. So at 10:27 it was go time.
I ventured to the back, which is where the studio is at, and was told to remove my drawers. Sonny kept giving me menacing grins and laughing.. Mosca gloved-up and began to set-up. Having been pierced alot and watching alot of piercings I knew the procedure quite well...1st came the Iodine, 2nd came the alcohol swab then the markings of the gentian violet. He clamped me the 1st time and there was a complication so I was unclamped. I was clamped a 2nd time and was told to breathe in, I couldn't bring myself to do it, so I was unclamped again, and was told to hurry the fuck up!!! So the third time being the charm I was clamped once again. With the needle on the side of my head, I took a deep breath in and before I could even feel the pain, I let a mean ass growl at the top of my lungs. It was the most excruciating pain I have ever experienced in my life, even if it wasn't as painful as I thought it would be. I stopped screaming long enough to yell, "Just g et the motherfucker thru!!!!!" The one thing I remember quite vividly was that I was sitting in a chair with my legs wrapped around the base. I sprung up and nearly grabbed Moscas 'fro which was right there but I exerted enough self-control to not which was good.
After the piercing I rose up and lost all color, the warmth of a fresh piercing...I was kinda worried about the bleeding but Sonny said it was cool, I had to wear a pad for a couple of days and it was odd peeing. The first wake up was kinda funny, Sonny said make sure you pee when you 1st wake up which I didn't, about 30 minutes later I had morning wood and it fucking hurt!!! I had 4 or 5 red tinted pees but afterwards it was all good. The bleeding subsided after about 3 or 4 days, and the bruising went away about a week later. I was tender for about 3 weeks, which sucked. The crusties still come and go every once in awhile. Make sure you have a lot of titey-whiteys and baggy pants!! I followed the general aftercare of any piercing, washed around the piercing with anti-bacterial soap and rotated the barbell in the shower.
Well my wife is not really keen on the piercing, so therefore I have to take it out for sex. It sometimes hurts to stretch it back out but it's all good. When I was behind the counter at work it was kinda funny to watch and listen to peoples expressions when they asked about "freaky" piercings as they put it. I also highly recommend this piercing to anybody wanting an "extreme" piercing. The pain is only there for a slight moment, but as the saying goes, "A moment of pain, for a lifetime of pleasure."
If you are ever in the West Texas area check out the studios, one is in Odessa and the other is in Midland. I highly recommend the quality of work and the general atmosphere of the stores. I no longer work there but I still frequent the store for all my body mod needs. Both Sonny and Trish are very helpful and highly skilled at piercings.
