Eight months ago, I got an apadravya from Bobby in Bugibba, Malta, the tale of which is already on BME. After a delightful summer with the apadravya, I soon decided that I would stretch it to a 10g, as it was pierced with a 13g, and add an ampallang. Many of my friends at school began to get apadravyas and, during one of these experiences, I asked Derek, a piercer for SADU, if he could add the ampallang. He seemed quite optimistic and that set the wheels of my mind turning.

One month later, I attempted to add the ampallang at INK LINK tattoos in Gastonia, NC as they heavily discount body piercings. The jewelry was sterilized and the adrenaline flowing, but the store owner said that he could not do the piercing as my apadravya was too far forward. An ampallang, he claimed, would puncture an important blood sac. Disappointed, I left the studio, only to call Derek, the optimistic SADU piercer a week later.

I visited his shop in Charlotte, thinking that he would do the piercing then. To my disappointment, once again, I did not leave the store with cross-hairs on my penis, but with an appointment for two weeks later. Derek told me to wait an additional two weeks to allow my apadravya to get really clean as not to cause infection. He was confident that he could do the ampallang, though he had actually never done such a combination before. After seeing his portfolio, packed with over eighty-five different kinds of piercings, I too was confident he could pull it off, especially as he had done a good job on my friend and had over twenty-five genital piercings under his belt.

Anyway, at the consultation, he made a few measurements and felt around for those legendary blood sacs. The result: he decided that the ampallang would have to go in front of the apadravya. Though this would leave it quite close to the tip, he said not to worry, but that it would hold its own after a few months.

For two weeks, I sought, without luck, mind numbing pain killers, hoping to escape some of the dreadful pain I had experienced five times before.

The day came and I showed up at SADU at 2:30. Derek began by changing out my ampallang bar from 1.25 inches to 1 inch. He didn't have another 1.25 barbell in stock and this would allow him to do the piercing that day, which I wanted. I therefore had to wait through the sterilization process twice before getting the show on. When it was time, some forty-five minutes later, he began by making several marks with a sharpie over the course of about five minutes. When he was satisfied, I took a look and it seemed good. He then exposed me to the sensation the forceps would cause. While he usually goes freehand, the forceps were a necessity due to the presence of the apadravya- there was little room for error. With my mouth full of sweatshirt, he counted down and stabbed, though it was surprisingly less painful than I expected, due to the contraction of the forceps. Indeed, even the jewelry caused little pain when inserted. In honesty, the only real pain resulted from the puncture of the urethra, which is, unfortunately, indescribable. The best it can be compared to is a fire alight in your brain. Attempts to compare or expect this type of pain will fail. Nonetheless, it was short lived before the endorphins kciked in and muted ti out. Relieved to be done in less than two seconds, I sat back and marveled at my new wang while Derek took an excess of twenty photographs for his portfolio. After some loose conversation, I was up and out.

Urinating did not hurt at all this time, perhaps because I waited until I could sit in a warm tub of water before going. The bleeding was fairly marginal, though a bit spontaneous, shedding little at night, though sometimes quite a bit during day. Even my first erection did not hurt badly. While my penis is now partly black due to a giant bruise form the forceps, it is coming along quite well now. I generally wrap a few sheets of toilet paper around it and then cover that with an absorbitant, thick paper towel to protect my clothing. This has worked quite well. I still am a firm believer in cleaning with urine, which I do thrice a day, soaking it first and then rubbing off the crusties with urine soaked q-tips. Tight underwear is also a good idea, though I own a limited number of such. Limiting the movement prevents snagging and the movement of the bar, which would restart the bleeding.

It has been compared to a hammerhead shark, target, and an alien, all of which are appropriate. It is quite a sight for sure!

Derek did a very cautious and excellent job. His experience and expertise is obvious and I strongly recommend him and both piercings.
