Disclaimer: I have self pierced before, and submitted stories of self piercing to bme. Most of my piercings are DIY. The only ones professionally done were my paired nostrils, and each side was a Christmas gift in 2006, and 2007. I am not a licensed piercer, yet. I also don't do my own mods because I have a mommy that doesnt approve. I bet she would take me to get them done, but I don't want her to. I like doing them myself. It gives me a small sense of empowerment.

I never really though about nipple rings. Since I don't go around showing my boobs to everyone I figured I didn't need them pierced. I looked around on bme alot and occasionally browsed the "standard" female nipple rings. I liked the look, sure, but never really gave it any thought at all.
I pierce my smiley about a week ago but that didn't suffice. I have my septum, left side lower labret, 00gauge ears, and paired nostrils as well. I love the feeling of metal in my skin.
Anyway, today i was just sitting around watching television, thinking about what I wanted to pierce. For some reason I was fixated on getting a new piercing right then and right now. Then all of a sudden "nipple rings" popped into my head and that was done.
I went into the bathroom and found my clamps, 14g unopened hollow needle, and a cbr. Then I went into the kitchen and got a cup of ice. Ive never numbed anything before so I thought I would give it a shot just this once on my nipple.
i lifted my shirt up and tucked it under my underarms. I held the ice to my nipple for about five minutes then got a towl to dab it dry with. I was so shocked when I couldn't even feel the towel! So I held the ice there for a few more mintues, dabbed it dry and clamped my left nipple. I shoved the needle through and I didn't even feel it! I was impressed. Then I fed the end of the CBR through the end of the hollow needle, pulled the needle out, adjusted the ring, washed it off and I was done! It was really simple and fast.
It bled ALOT so I lifted my shirt up again and cleaned it with baby wipes and held it there til it stopped bleeding.
Right now I am getting ready to pierce my right nipple (at exactly 2:56 PM) and the left one is very sore.

My right nipple is officially pierced!
I numbed it with ice for around...two minutes? I guess. Then I clamped it, and shoved the needle through! Its amazing how fast thos needles go through nipples. I am very very impressed with this.
I never thought that I would get my nipples pierced. I dont modify myself to look cool or be different, I do it because I think I should look like this.
I am very excited about this whole experience. I am hoping to add more to my DIY collection in the future.

I noticed the right one is severly crooked. Hah. I guess I just got excited or something. Haha. I took the right one out and im letting it bleed into a baby wipe until it stops. Then I am going to clean it. numb it, and attempt to repierce it. If that does not work I will just have to give my right nipple a rest for a while until i can steady my hand better.

Everything is fine. I once again lifted up my shirt and tucked it under my underarms. At this point, there were droplets of blood all over my poor green shirt. I numbed my poor right nipple with ice for EIGHT minutes this time. I also turned on my zune on its speaker dock and turned up the music. Reel Big Fish, to be exact. I numbed my nipple, marked the spot this time with a piercing marker and clamped it. I shoved the needle through and I looked in the mirrow and it was perfectly aligned with the other one! I am so happy! I once again fed the ring through the end of the hollow needle and it was done. I cleaned it with dial and put a baby wipe against it to stop the bleeeding.
I am very happ with my nipple rings at the moment. They are actually currently 18 gauge, and when they heal I am hoping to put a 16 gauge rings in them and keep them at that size. I think anyone who is thinking about nipple piercings should go for it. It is very enjoyable. Although my nipples are very sore at the moment I am really happy with the way they turned out. Im glad I did it.
