I have always been frightened of needles; getting tattoos didn't help that at all. The thought of getting something pierced was something I had thought of but never considered a possibility. Well that all changed.

So I am a college student. About 7 months ago my parents decided to pay me a visit at school and saw how well I was doing in my classes and decided to reward me with money. Now my parents are quite against piercings and tattoos, they have no clue I have two tattoos. Like every person my age I have some disliking for my parents, although I feel it to be legitimate. So after receiving the money I thought of what I could do with it that would be secretly spiteful. I decided I wanted to get a nipple piercing. So I waited until they left town. I had been pondering the idea of a nipple piercing for about a week and this just seemed to be so fitting that I would my parents money that I was given for approval of my behavior in order to spite them.

Immediately I called my best friend and told him I was about to get a piercing but I wouldn't tell him what. He came with me to my favorite tattoo parlor and I walked up to the counter and told the guy who had done both of my tattoos that I wanted my right nipple pierced. My friend screamed.

I walk back in the private piercing area and lie down on the table. My friend is waiting out in the lobby. I shut my eyes and just told the piercer to do it. I asked that I not be told what he was doing because my fear of needles would be a bit of a hindrance. The second the clamp was on I freaked out and asked if it was over. He replied "nope, that's not it, this is" and pierced it. I screamed in agony to the point that my friend came running in. Suddenly it was over, the jewelry was in. I paid, tipped the piercing and left. For the rest of the day I had an extreme adrenalin rush that I have never experienced before and I was quite pleased with what I had done.

For the next week, every day in class I could feel the piercing. I would clean it every day and it seemed to be getting better. But I could not stop feeling my shirt against it or the incredible urge to touch it because it felt so unusual. For a month I considered removing it. After this month I got used to it and started to like it but it wouldn't completely heal. Finally, in February it looked like it was about healed up until one night this same friend of mine was drunk. I was sitting on a couch and he came up behind me and tripped; his hands when down my shirt trying to brace his fall and well, bleeding ensued. I thought I was doomed.

A month later (March) I took a tropical spring break trip and the piercing seemed to heal perfectly from the climate and constantly being in the ocean. For a few weeks after my spring break it was fine and then suddenly starting looking infected. I cleaned it out repeatedly and it has gone through phases of being clean to infected and back. It is quite strange. Now as I write this it seems almost healed and hasn't been too bad.

It has been a rocky road. The piercing is starting to heal but I developed for a short time these puss bubbles above each hole. Those have finally gone away after some rather painful incidents.

Would I do it again? I think I would. I like it and have considered getting the other nipple done but I fear the same kind of recovery or partial recovery I am going through now. My advice to others is to understand that a lot of cleaning is required and the first week can be kind of crappy. Don't plan on any major activity because you have no idea how much that part of your body moves until you have something that causes pain there. If you want to do it got for it, when it is healed it can be a lot of fun to play with and I have to say partners can often enjoy feeling the part of the ring that goes under the nipple, it is rather exotic.

I also found that my nipple became a tiny bit bigger and a lot more sensitive. I now can be aroused by someone touching it, it's pretty incredible.

Next I will either get my other nipple done or I have been considering a naval piercing, which, although rare for men, seems rather intriguing.

If you have any thoughts as to what might be an interesting choice for the next piercing please send me a message. Oh and incase you were wondering why I chose the right nipple, it is because I am gay (but not flamboyantly so) and a republican. I thought it was kind of funny.
