I had a dream on New Year's of this year (2007), in which my husband took me to get my nipples, belly button and clit pierced. He then bought me fine silver chains to run between the nipple rings, down to the belly button ring - intersecting with a belly chain - and down to the ring in my clit. I have no idea why this dream caught my imagination so vividly, but it did. I've been fixated on it for the past three months.

Last week, I made an appointment at Acme Piercing Company on Short Vine here in Cincinnati, OH. Yesterday, I went in to have my nipples done, and ended up having my belly button pierced as well.
Questions: Did it hurt? Nope. Pinched for a second, but the kids bit me harder than that when they were nursing. Certainly nothing I couldn't deal with, or even notice for more than a second or two. I had a lovely ache for most of the evening afterward.... went out to an Irish Pub with friends for a while. But they never hurt, and still don't.
Happy you did it? Yep. They're preeetyyyyy....
Does it hurt now? Nope. Honestly, can't even feel that they've been done, unless I brush against them. And then, it's more like the day after a little rough play during sex.... that lovely ache to it... mmmm....
My belly button hurts not at all. Almost didn't feel it when he did it either. I'm not sure why that is.
Why pierce yourself? First off, I am 38 years old, and I promised myself that when I lost all the baby weight, and was back down to 135 - which is what I weighed from the time I was 16 to the time I got pregnant with my first child at the age of 28 (she's ten now)- I'd pierce my belly button. I am, so I did. : )
As for the nipples.... 40 seems to be creeping up on me, and I've never been one to hide from my age. I have EARNED every grey hair on my head, and I'm damn proud of every birthday I've seen... it's a miracle I've survived as long as I have. Maybe I'm too old to go piercing my nipples, but hell... I've never been conventional. No point in starting now. Also... that dream on New Year's just stuck with me.... *laughs* I can't get it out of my head, and I'm pleased as punch I've gotten this far.
Plus... just had two more biopsies taken. One from my face, one from the front of my left hip. So I can't wear jeans, or underwear, or my waist pack, and figured I may as well go ahead and get it all done and heal it up together. If I find out either of these "suspicious lesions" are Cancer, we'll have to go back and take more out from the incision sites. As it typically takes me at least six months to heal those out well, and I'll be wearing low ride skirts to avoid irritating the biopsy site, that just makes the timing seem perfect for the belly button piercing as well.
My husband is drooling.... distracted and bumping into things. Suffice to say he's pleased.
Funny stories: Walked in last week to make the appt, and Cannon, the guy behind the counter (who did my piercing this week), looked up, and before I said a word, he said "Browncoats!" *grins* I was wearing my brown jacket with the Firefly/Serenity patches on it. So we had a nice discussion about Firefly and Serenity, and turns out he's a fan as well. Yes, I AM a geek. A 38 year old geek, mother of two. With her nipples and belly button pierced. *grins*
Yesterday evening, Cannon was so sweet, and kept asking if I was okay. I guess people pass out or whatever... I just laughed every time he asked. Told him I breastfed for five years, and my nipples split when I first started nursing my daughter, but I kept doing it. He said wow, you're not even gonna notice this... and my friend said "Shut up and drink your bloodmilk!"
I could NOT stop laughing... he had already done the right nipple, and was in the process of doing the left when she said that... and we were both shaking hard trying not to laugh... Yes, the piercing is straight, but that's a testimony to his skill, not to my ability to be still while laughing hysterically.
Anyway... that's my story. : ) Had fun. Happy I did it. And not hurting at all. I am planning to go back to Acme to finish the dream at some point - probably after these are nicely healed. Two biopsies and three piercings are enough for now. *grins* In for a penny, in for a pound. They're distracting me from the cancer scare, so that's all to the good as well.
Plus... pretty!
