About a month after turning 18 I got my first tattoo, a koi fish on my left thigh. I was thrilled and instantly hooked, I needed more of anything. Having had my nose pierced and my bellybutton done previously made me think about this time getting a piercing.

Discussing the possibilities of what to get done lead automatically to the nipple, something I've wanted for years. A week after getting my tattoo I went with my boyfriend to A-1 and got my nipple priced. I had the option of getting a barbell or a hoop put in, I had no idea that you might be able to only do one or the other. Richie was great he explained everything in great detail and was the nicest guy ever!

After cleaning my nipple and bringing out the needle he told me the usual "I won't pierce you without you knowing, just keep breathing and you will be fine. The main cause for people passing out is because they didn't breath." ONE, TWO, THREE, OUCH! One word to describe it, of course a needle ripping through you skin is hardly much fun but as usual adrenaline is a GREAT thing! While the needle was in my skin I looked down, BIG MISTAKE ON MY PART! I don't usually like looking at things that I know are painful. But he said I was doing great and just keep breathing. We were halfway over. The barbell went through and I was wondering when that was going to be put in and when he said "ALL DONE! You did great!" I was like what? He put the jewelry in?! I was amazed at how UNpainful that part was. Of course being somewhat of a wuss I was holding onto my boyfriends hand incase it hurt so bad I had to squeeze it, and didn't. I didn't believe it myself either!

Viewing my new piercing in the mirror was so cool! The jewelry being put in was easy, so don't let that discourage you that was a piece of cake to me. The first couple of hours hurt so badly! Walking was something I did want to do. However a few hours after the pain I couldn't feel it!

Having gotten only one done I think was a best choice, but in about a week I'm planning on getting my second one done! This is probably one of the most discreet piercing one can get done, and the bleeding is not that bad. If you just remember to keep on breathing before and AFTER the needle is in your skin you should be fine.

Before I got it done I had asked people if they knew anyone who had it done, of course they were all thinking about it and said I needed to get it done first so they could know how it is. SO let me tell you from someone who had been the guinea pig for her friends, DO IT! The pain is always temporary, and it looks great! Don't take my word for it on the pain thing either, pain is always relative and either you can stand it, or you can't. I thought it wouldn't be that bad because I've had things pierced before, I thought my bellybutton would have been the same as getting my nipple done, NO I WAS WRONG. Before hand though I did some research and people said the pain was non existent! There is pain, trust me. Not unbearable pain though.

Of course it hurts every now and then when it's cold, but nothing too bad. You never know how much pain boobs go through until it's pierced. It's a lot, let me tell you. If you sleep on your stomach, better find a new way to sleep before you get it done, because even if you're piercing stops hurting when you walk, it will hurt when pressure is upon it.

If you have the option of getting a barbell put in, do it, especially if your parents can not know. The barbell just makes it look like you're nipping a bit, if you're not wearing a bra, or for guys who don't wear those. Clean it like your artist tells you too, don't listen to friends, just act like you are! The worst thing you want to do is get it infected because someone thought they knew better than a professional. If anyone is in Missouri and wants to get a good piercing or tattoo I strongly recommend A-1 Tattoo, the people there are very nice and they know what they are doing. Getting my nipple pierced there made me realize what I want to do with the rest of my life, I want to pierce people. Crazy I know, but I figure if I enjoy getting them done, I should enjoy piercing people.

HAPPY Piercing!
