I first thought about getting my nipples pierced when a friend of mine showed me hers about a year ago. She had horizontals and verticals, and absolutely loved them. I thought they were pretty, but I never seriously thought about getting mine done. My parents are very strict, and don't approve of any piercings besides one in each ear (although they did let me get my navel done when I was 16). I can't get any visible piercings because they give me money for school, so I'm rather limited in the areas I can get pierced.

I got a VCH as an 18th birthday present for myself back in September, and after that I just wanted more and more piercings. I really love being afraid, getting the adrenaline rush, and then having decorations! I started thinking seriously about getting my nipples pierced in October, and began researching online, and asking several of my friends who have theirs done about their experiences. I looked at pictures here while I was trying to decide what style and jewelry to get, and ultimately decided on horizontal CBRs.

I didn't know when I would have the money to get them pierced- textbooks are expensive, and I had to save for second semester. When I went home for Christmas, I thought I wouldn't be able to get them done until the next September (I love to swim, and wouldn't want to get them done in the summer and deal with patches every day).

But fortunately, with Christmas came money and giftcards to my college bookstore, so I really thought I was going to get my nipples pierced once I was back at school! But on Friday night, the thought occurred to me that, hey, I have a car to myself here at home and zero cars at school. Why don't I just get them done while here? It wouldn't be hard to get out of the house with an excuse, and my parents would probably never notice!

I looked up studios close to my house- it was difficult because tattooing had been outlawed in my area for over 50 years, and shops need to get special permits to even open, and usually piercing takes place in tattoo parlors. I decided on bluehorseshoe- they had a nice website and several locations, the pictures looked good, and they were only 10 minutes away! I decided to go the very next day.

I told my mom I was going to Target, and drove to the shop. I was so nervous! I walked up to the front desk and asked to get my nipples pierced. I gave my ID, filled out the forms, and paid (it was only $45 for both, and I had expected more. Even better!). The girl at the deskw as really nice and could tell I was nervous. She said it would be her, me, and the piercer, which made me feel a little better.

When I had gotten my other piercings, they had taken place in seperate rooms, and bluehorseshoe had about 5 or 6 little booths with chest-high walls for tattooing, and one on the end with a higher screen for piercing. I was a little thrown off, but the place was very clean, so I wasn't really worried.

I went into the booth, and met Justin. He was really nice, and made me feel comfortable with conversation. He checked my anatomy, said that 14g CBRs would work fine, and cleaned and marked me. I watched him open all the packages and change gloves a few times, so I knew everything was sterile. I lay down, and I was getting the adrenaline buildup that comes with excitement and fear. It was great. He put the clamp on my right nipple, and it didn't hurt at all (I had heard they sometimes do), told me to breathe in and out and...Hah! It didn't hurt at ALL. I just felt a tiny bit of pressure, absolutely no pain. I had expected it to hurt a LOT, from the stuff I'd read, and I was really pleased that it didn't!

He went over to the other side, and that one only hurt a tiny, tiny bit, like a split-second gentle pinch. He put the jewelry in and I was DONE!

They looked gorgeous. I was really pleased with his work, and with myself for getting them done. I'm glad I did so much research and looked at pictures, because I definitely think CBRs are prettier than barbells. I'm going to get balls with gems in them after 3 months, because I love how that looks.

Justin gave me an aftercare sheet and some sea salt, explained to me what to do with it, gave me some paper towels to put in my bra (they were bleeding a few drops) and said if I had any questions to call him!

I left the shop feeling amazing. My nipples started to sting a little on the way to Target (I had to buy something there to keep up my lie!) and kept hurting. I didn't really expect to have pieces of metal shoved through my breasts without pain. It's been 5 days now, and they only hurt if I catch the ring by accident in the shower, or if I run or jog. I soak them at least once every day, and put soap around them (NOT through them!) in the shower once a day. They feel great, and look greater. I am so happy to have gotten them done. I don't even look down and think "what have I done?", they just feel like a natural part of me that I've been missing since puberty!

If anyone is on the fence about getting their nipples pierced, go ahead and do it. It doesn't hurt at all, and the results are so pretty!
