So, I've always wanted my nipples pierced, not seriously though. I'd always bring it up randomly looking at jewelry for my other piercings, or looking through pictures on BME. Finally I decided it was time to put my words into actions, again half seriously.I always just thought they looked nice, I didn't want to get my nipples pierced because someone told me it was sexy, or my boyfriend wanted it. I wanted them for myself. I was looking around for someone to do it for me, whether it is a piercing shop that would do it, or a friend. Both of those plans failed, I ended up asking my mom. I was so convinced she wouldn't sign for me, but she ended up saying "yeah sure." She said would rather have me do it in a safe environment, than by some idiot. She signed for me as one of my Christmas presents. So we finally went last Saturday (December 30th 2006), and she allowed me to get it done
At A Glance Author anonymous Contact anonymous@bme.anon When A week ago Artist Adam Studio Bob's Body Art Location Hanover,PA We were visiting some family up in PA, and we decided that we wouldn't have as much trouble finding a shop to do it in PA, rather than in MD. We called a few places, most of which wouldn't pierce my nipples even though my mom gave her signature. We found a place that did, which made me uneasy. We decided to go to the place, talk to the piercer and see what condition the shop was in. The place seemed good enough, they had an autoclave, a good portfolio, and the piercer knew what he was doing. He was on his 9th year of piercing, was getting certified in permanent make up and was starting suspension. We talked about it for a minute, and we both liked the shop, the piercer, and the atmosphere. We decided to get it done, and my mom wanted to get a tattoo on her ankle. It was really a shock, and I'm still surprised that I actually went through with it.
We filled out the forms, and then waited for him to get the room ready. We went back together, he invited my mom back because she was uneasy about me being a minor. I thought that was very professional, showing he had nothing to hide. He put gloves on, and I took off my shirt. He measured my nipples, picked out a two rings, and said it is time. He opened the package of two needles in front of us, to show us they were new. He put the clamp on my right nipple, which didn't hurt at all, not even like someone pinching my nipple. I reached back for my mom's hand, and waited. The piercing it self-only hurt a bit more than a regular ear lobe piercing. My mom was freaking out more than I was. It wasn't that painful. He did my left nipple, which hurt a bit more. He said it was because I was right handed, which makes sense. I'm not sure its true though. The rings were in, and he was done! He bent the needles to prove to us he wouldn't use them again, and threw them away. I and went out to wait until my mom was done getting her tattoo.
I put my clothes back on, and picked up some H2ocean. We Paid him, and tipped him. That day my nipples were a bit sore, but I slept on my stomach that night. They stung mostly, or it was like a dull ache. It wasn't too bad. And ever since they've been pretty much hassle free. They bled once or twice in the first two days. Not too many crusties yet. They are sore to the touch, so I don't touch them. I've been cleaning them 3 to 4 times a day, with the H2ocean. I've also kept a clean bra on at all times, so it keeps the rings more still than if I wasn't wearing one. That seems to help a lot, I think it would hurt more if my shirt rubbed against them all the time. So far, it has been 7 days, and they have been uneventful and seem to be healing well.
Its pretty cool walking around knowing I have my nipples pierced and no one else knows. Sometimes I forget they are there already, because they are pretty much pain free. When I bend over they sting a bit, so I just try to avoid that, as well as touching them. My mom was scared I wouldn't be able to breastfeed, but I asked the piercer and he said I should be able to. I also checked BME, and mostly every source has said that it shouldn't be a problem. If you want to get your nipples pierced by all means go ahead, but make sure you go about it the right way. Good luck with all your piercings.
