At A Glance Author xlullabyxlustx Contact oceanslullaby@hotmail.com When N/A Artist Louise Studio Holier Than Thou Location Manchester I've decided to add a story about my nipple piercing procedure.
It was March this year, & I had wanted it done for ages. Around 2 years. I had told the boy I liked at the time, who is now m long-term boyfriend, & let's just say he more than liked the idea!
I posted on my Gj account to ask my friends if they knew any decent piercing places. I got loads of replies, one from my great friend informing me that Holier Than Thou in Manchester was supposed to be really good. In fact I think she read about them on this site! Some people recommended In2Skin in Manchester also. I haven't been there to check it out yet though.
So, I got to the day I thought to myself "I'm going to do this!" So I emailed Graham, the owner, and asked how much it'd be and if they'd pierce a 16-year-old girl. He said he'd need my passport as proof than I'm 16 etc, which was fine by me! I asked like, a lot of questions. And I researched it more than I've ever researched anything (Including homework assignments!)
I asked my Mum and at first she said no and said she thought I was crazy, but after bugging a hell of a lot, she said yes. Well more of a "Do what you want!" in an annoyed tone, but I don't blame her. Haha.
It came to the day and I was going to Manchester with my boyfriend and his Mum and brother. I was so exited! And then I realised I hadn't brought my passport. Hah! So my boyfriends Mum kindly took us to Manchester the next day. We got lost looking for the place, and had to ring them.
Once there, my heart was beating like Thumper's foot! They were really, really nice. I filled out the sheet and they gave me the healthcare one, and they asked if I had eaten in the last hour. All I had eaten all day was a nutrigrain bar, so I basically lied and said yes... [That's a dumb idea, as explained later] and then Louise said would I like to go through. I was like YEAH! Hehe.
She explained the procedure and laid out the equipment on the table on wheels next to me. It was all in packages and looked brand new. She must have washed her hands and the surfaces and then her hands again about 5 times, changing gloves each time. I asked her about rejection and she said females usually don't reject :] Good news!
I took off my top and bra and lay down on the table, with my boyfriend holding on to my feet at the end of the bed/table thing. I told her I hadn't been worried about the pain - until now! She said, "Okay well just relax..." It was then that I realised "Shit man, this is gonna hurt!"
I literally couldn't feel the clamps at all. She told me to breathe in and as I did, the needle went through. OUCH. I could feel the needle go through layers of foam thick skin. I remember thinking to myself, "So that's what the inside of a nipple feel like!" I ain't gonna lie or try to look tough ... that was painful. She inserted the jewellery and said for me to look, so I lifted my head to look and there it was! Two silver balls, and some blood. Nice.
I got up and thanked her and got dressed. We went back out to the waiting room/counter to pay and I suddenly felt extremely ill; my head went all dizzy, so that when I moved it everything seemed to be in slow motion and as if it was filled with cotton wool, and I felt sick and hot.. Drinking some water didn't do much either, so I just leant on my boyfriend and all I remember from that was people saying "sit on this chair" and I was thinking "What chair?!" and I looked down and said "That's a stool!" and then I was literally being carried in to the piercing room again and lay down on the bed. I tried to lift my legs but no, they couldn't be arsed moving.
As soon as I lay down a wave of cold covered my face. My boyfriends Mum was saying "It's ok, Bekki. You just fainted that's all." HUH?! That was fainting?! I wanted to do it again! Haha.
After everything started looking cloudless and I could hear properly again, I sat up, and the girl from the till was there. She gave me her cherry coke! I was so thankful! She's lovely :]
After my sugar levels were back up I felt fine, so I bought some Provon [antibacterial soap] and we left.
My breast hurt for about an hour, but after that it was fine. Cleaning it was hard though.. for about a week after getting it pierced, I couldn't clean it without feeling faint and ill.
It gets easier though :]
So yeah... that's my nipple piercing experience! I would definitely advise anyone who wants to get this done, to go for it. It's so personal, and so aesthetically pleasing, it's worth the pain. However, be careful not to catch it on anything.. THAT hurts! Also; eat before the procedure. I was silly not to have done so.
Much love,
