First Piercing--my nipples

When A year ago
For years I have thought pierced nipples were very sexy. I hesitated to do anything because I had never had anything pierced, not even my ears, and because I was afraid I wouldn't get them to heal right. I also had a boyfriend at the time and didn't want to go without touching while they healed. But last fall I found myself dumped and kept thinking about getting a piercing. I am in a pretty conservative profession, so I knew anything visible other than basic earrings was out, which is fine with me. Since I had thought about nipple piercing for so long, I mustered my courage, did some research, and went to a local piercing and tattoo parlor.

It was a Friday (I figured if anything went wrong, I would have a couple days to get straightened out) and I was so excited. I went in and asked the piercer a ton of questions on the spot, even though I had already verified a good amount of the information through BME, public records (to check the certification,) and the studio's website. I wanted to know more about healing time, touching, restrictions on sexual activity during healing, whether the piercings would affect my ability to nurse a child in the future, and several other things. The piercer was fabulous about answering questions, and was very knowledgeable. I went ahead to fill out the paperwork, and he offered to go get things ready, but I asked him to hold up so I could watch (I wanted to make sure things were sanitary.) It was no problem, and I watched him prep the area just like I've read a piercer is supposed to. I removed my top and my bra and after an anatomy check, we were ready to go. My nipples were cleaned and disinfected, and either because of the solution or my excitement or both, they were pretty erect, so it was easy for the piercer to see where to pierce. He marked my nipples for horizontal rings and I liked the positioning, so he started with the left breast. I was prepared for the clamp to hurt, but it didn't really--just some pressure and a little tightness. The piercer had me breathe as he counted to three, and then slid the needle right through. Again, no pain. As he inserted the ring, it still didn't hurt, although it felt a little odd having someone's hands there in a clinical, but not doctor exam, way. Once the jewelry was in, we moved on to the other breast. It went just as smoothly as the first. I then picked up soap and sea salt so I could properly care for my piercings. I did find it a bit difficult to soak until I read about using gauze pads, which is so much easier than trying to maneuver over a dish or shot glass, especially for someone with large breasts.

It kind of sucked having to wait several weeks before really touching the new piercings. I was so excited to finally have my nipples pierced that I wanted to play with them and feel how lovely they felt. However, I could tell that the sensation was increased just from the little contact I had doing salt soaks and such. About a month after the piercings (and I know I should have waited six weeks) I played with them a bit and had no problems, although I did try to refrain until the six weeks had passed. I had no problems with the healing, I barely even bled, so perhaps I am just very lucky when it comes to piercing.

I loved my new jewelry, although in hindsight, I think it might have been easier to disguise barbells than CBRs. I am not a fan of the CBR, since I never really got the hang of how to work them right. And I LOVE the sensation. My nipples were always sensitive, and this just enhances that. After the first couple days, my nipples didn't stand at attention all the time, so between that and a padded bra, no one knew what goodies I hid under my shirt. Most of the time, I wear pretty discreet jewelry so I don't have to worry about it being visible through my clothing. However, from time to time, I do something flashier. My ex and I got back together and he loves the jewelry, especially playing with the CBRs. I am thinking about getting another nipple piercing--vertical this time, and if I have the right anatomy, I would love to get stars done. I have pretty big breasts, so it looks cool to see adornment there. Plus, it's something sexy, a little different, and it's my "little" secret that only those I choose to have know know about.
