So one day I got fired out of the blue. I was pretty upset about it and wanted to get drunk. It was eight in the morning, so no one wanted to join me. Not being the kind of person to drink alone, I sat moping around. Then, out of nowhere I decided I should get a piercing.

Now, I didn't have any piercing aside from those in my ears, and even those weren't that extreme or unusual. I had my cartilage done with a needle as well as my rook, so I wasn't unaccustomed to what is involved when it comes to piercing someone. The next thing I needed to decide would be what to get pierced. I don't like too many facial piercings, and I am a freak for symmetry, so most of those were eliminated immediately. Everyone has their navel done and I don't really show off my stomach, so that wasn't even considered. My thoughts went to my nipple, but I never really had much of a desire to do that and I wasn't sure whether I'd want one or both done, left or right (again, the whole symmetry thing coming into my thought process). I have always wanted my clitoral hood pierced, but it just didn't feel right. So my nipple it was.

I went to a place called Pins and Needles, which to be honest, I always considered to be a scary place. However, a friend had told me really good things and so after come comparison pricing (I don't have a problem paying for a job well done) I decided to go into the store and ask some questions. The man who both owns the shop and does the piercing came off sort of unfriendly. He did, however, know what he was talking about and I decided to go for it. I told him that I wasn't sure about whether I wanted just one or two, so I asked if he could do one and then I could decide whether I wanted to go for the second one or not. So it was settled. And I waited. For about an hour. While he took care of other people. The waiting was sort of excruciating and it made me think too much about what I was about to do. People kept talking to me about the pain and, depending on whether they were male or female, how bad it was. Pain wasn't really the concern for me though, since I expect a needle going through flesh to hurt.

So finally it was my time to get pierced. I was expecting to be laying down on the table for the piercing, but he asked me to remain sitting. This made me a little uneasy because of how unflattering I look when I am sitting upwards half-naked. The person who was going to pierce me was also a man, so I was a little uneasy. He made the experience good, though. He didn't make it awkward at all. So he got his things ready and I took deep breaths to steady myself. He made his marks and put on the clamp. I was fine until I saw the actual needle. I told him that I needed a few moments to clear my mind. When I was ready, I told him to go and refused to look at what he was doing. To my surprise, it didn't hurt that much at all. In fact, I found that it hurt as much as getting my rook done. I asked him if I could look in the mirror to see how much I liked having one done. Since it didn't hurt so badly, I decided that I might as well do the other one. Unfortunately, the second one hurt much more. When he was putting the needle though, he hit part of my nipple that I guess was harder than the rest. It was hard enough to stop the smooth motion of just going though so he had to apply a little more force, which caused me to yelp in pain. Then he cleaned me up, gave me instructions and that was it.

When I was heading back home, I started to feel like I might throw up, and then faint. I was on the bus and decided to get off, since either throwing up or fainting would be an incredibly embarrassing thing to do on the bus. I took a cab the rest of the way and then slept off the feeling. The pain wasn't really bad afterwards. It wasn't a whole lot of fun when I got cold, and I hit them constantly because my breasts apparently get in the way a lot. Now, I have had them for a little while and I am starting to understand how this piercing can feel good. I am also quite impressed with how well they are healing. I was a little nervous about it, because I had so many problems with my ears, but they are coming along exactly the way it was explained to me. I'm really glad I decided to go though with this particular piercing. I look like a relatively conservative individual and it's fun to shock people when I tell them that I have my nipples pierced. Now there's the question of what part of myself to pierce next...
