In short- my piercing story is that it didn't hurt at all, and that Sea Salt Soaks are the best things ever. Also- Ice packs make it feel better when it gets sore. I went to Infinite which is down on 4th and South Streets in Philadelphia. I would really recommend this place to get your piercing because the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. They answered all my questions and made me feel at ease.
At A Glance Author J Contact J@bme.anon When A week ago Artist Clay Studio Infinite Body Piercings Location South Street- Philadelphia, PA For the longest time I wanted to get something pierced. I have always been the good boy and I've wanted to get something done. I couldn't get anything visible due to the professional attire/traditional minded work. So I have only a few choices – nipple, belly button, penis, and quiche. So I chose the nipple. So I was set- I wanted to get my Right Nipple Pierced, and I went online to do some research. The barbell seemed like it would be easier than the ring, because people wrote about the pain of having the ring move and flip up and down.
I had put off getting my nipple pierced for about a month. Last Friday, I told my boyfriend and my roommates that I was ready, and my roommate's girlfriend decided she wanted to get her cartilage pierced so we all drove down to Infinite on 4th and South.
After giving my drivers license and information, and signing the papers, I chose to get a barbell because I figured it would be more comfortable while I was still healing.
Clay came out and took us into his piercing room; it reminded me of the dentist's office, but some really interesting decorations on the wall, and a big black chair.
After piercing my roommate's girlfriend's ear, it was my turn. My roommate took out his camera and asked if he could document the piercing for us :-D I'm sitting here looking at the pictures and I still can't believe that I went through with it. My boyfriend was standing next to the door and had a really good view of the piercing and he said that he really liked watching it, maybe its because he's getting ready for med school.
I took off my shirt, and he marked my right nipple.
I got into the chair, and he put the clamp on, and told me that it might feel like a really tight pinch.
The clamp was probably the worst part of the entire piercing for me.
He told me to take some deep breaths and that he pushed the needle in on my release.
I sat for a few seconds looking at the needle about 2 inches long sticking through my nipple while he got the jewelry, it was def. one of the strangest sights.
He pushed the jewelry through, and tightened the bead.
I do have to admit, my piercing did not hurt at all!
Maybe it was the adrenaline (?). It did feel pretty strange when we walked back to the car because it was pretty cold out and I could feel my nipple getting really hard.
My nipple was sore the next day, but that went away pretty quickly.
I saw a little bit of dried blood on the second day, but I have not seen any lymph since I have been doing Sea Salt Soaks twice a day.
It is a little itchy, but I think that's normal for the healing process.
I can't stop lifting my shirt and looking at the shiny jewelry pierced into my nipple sometimes :-D
My boyfriend has been back and forth with his opinion of my piercing, sometimes he likes it, and sometimes he doesn't. He told me that it makes me look like sex, and that I belong on some website for porn. I think that it looks good, and that maybe in a few weeks when he gets to play around with it, and see the new level of sensitivity it gives me.
The first night that I had the piercing, I slept on my back, but rolled over to my stomach, and felt the pain. So I try to stay away from sleeping on my stomach. I'm also a little afraid of my piercing healing in crooked :-/.
I still have to get used to having my nipple pierced. Sometimes it goes hard for no reason at all, or when my shirt touches it in a specific way.
I cannot find any place near my apartment that carries Provon or Satin, the soaps recommended by my piercer. So I may just have to go back to the piercing place to go buy the soap.
Overall, I am really glad that I got my piercing, I have never had any piercing or tattoos and I really wanted one. Almost all of my friends were shocked and couldn't believe that I got a piercing, and I can't wait till they see me in person and ask to see it so that I can show it off.
