My Mid-Life Crisis

I have always been fascinated by body modification. Even as a small boy I was binding, stretching and coloring on my private parts. When I discovered porn in my teenage years I always got the biggest charge from finding pictures that showed a pierced body part.

When I graduated to going to strip clubs I found that it was even better in person. Anyway that has all been many years ago.

Three years ago I turned fifty. Like most men I looked back and asked myself what have I really done? What experiences do I want before they either put me in a nursing home or plant me. One day it occurred to me after a conversation with some friends in the local BDSM community that the one thing I wanted to do was to get my nipples pierced.

My God, here I am 50 years old and I am thinking about having my nipples pierced! What would my wife and children think? The more I thought about it the more I realized that it was exactly what I needed to get me out of the dumps that I had been in for so long.

In talking to my friends and asking their advise on the local piercing studios in town, it was very apparent that a local piercer by the name of Dave was the best. So I sent him and email and made an appointment to stop in and talk to him the next week.

The next week flew by and on the day I was to stop at Dave's studio my stomach was in knots. Dave was very patient with me and explained what would happen during the piercing process and what to expect during the healing process. It confirmed everything I had been reading on the Internet. He recommended a 12g captive bead ring. His manner put me at ease.

What the hell, if I am going to do it there is no time like the present but I decided to just have my left nipple pierced just to see if I really wanted this done.

I went back into studio where Dave did his work. He had me take off my shirt and sit down in what appeared to be an old barber chair. Dave started laying out the tools of his trade and sterilizing everything. He had me practice my breathing and got me to relax.

Dave did the prep work marking the position of the piercing on either side of my left nipple and then attached the clamp. He said it may be uncomfortable but it was not bad at all. He positioned the receiver and piercing needle and had me take a few big breaths to relax. With the last breath I felt a sharp pain that lasted for just a moment. Then there was a pulling sensation as Dave pushed the needle through the nipple followed by the ring. He attached the ball and cleaned up the piercing site.

Dave sent me home with a list of supplies I needed to pickup and instructions on after care, which included salt soaks using a glass and warm water several times a day. Those felt so good and soothing.

There was some pain the next day and for about the next two months until the piercing went through the first couple of stages of the healing process. I found wearing a shirt with your pockets full of notes, cell phone and writing utensils was just not a good thing. That slight pressure irritated the nipple and made it sore.

It took a little over a year and a half to completely heal. I cannot emphasize enough the importance of that after care. I would get lazy once in a while and not clean the piercing correctly for a day or two and it would let me know. Keep it clean and you will cut down the healing time.

About six months after having my left nipple pierced I went back to Dave to get the right nipple similarly pierced. It took about a year to completely heal. Both nipples healed at approximately the same time and I believe the second one healed faster just because I learned my lesson with the first one. Keep it clean!

Now I have not really noticed a big change in the sensitivity of my nipples but I do love the way they look.

It has been three years now and I have never regretted my decision to get my nipples pierced. As a matter of fact about a year ago I went back to see Dave and got a PA piercing which I love.

Well that is the story of my mid-life crisis. My wife does not know what to think. I keep reminding her that it was a lot cheaper than a new Corvette.
