Let me start off a little off track. A year ago my husband was looking at sites, including this one, about piercings. He asked me if he could get pierced. The only thing that I knew of piercings was the earlobe and that some of the teens were into naval jewelry.

He told me that he was interested in a Prince Albert, and not knowing what that was I told him that if he wanted it to do it. I also thought that whatever it was it would not happen.

About this time I went into the hospital for a knee replacement. When I returned home after surgery and rehabilitation he showed me that a Prince Albert was a ring in the end of his penis. It sure shocked me that he had that done, but I had told him that it was ok with me so I could not say anything.

After searching on another site and BME hubby started to bug me about a hood ornament, if you know what I mean, as at the time I did not have any idea what he meant. He showed me photos of vertical hood piercings and I told him that it would never happen. As it turns out that piercing would not work with my anatomy as I have a very small clitoris and the hood also would not be suitable for a piercing.

We started to read different experiences of other piercings and ran into a woman, like me somewhat overweight and she also had DD cup breasts.

Hubby an I had many long email conversations with her about her nipple piercings and also had a long phone conversation about her experience as to pain healing and aftercare.

This almost convinced me to have the nipples pierced and with hubby bugging me I told him that I would do it if he bought gold rings for my nipples. I thought that that would be the end of that conversation. Wrong again as about a week later the jewelry was in the mail box.

How is that for backing yourself into a corner, as I had now committed myself to the piercing.

To compound matters my next trip was to the hospital to get my other knee replaced, so the nipples were put on hold. Old elephant memory did not forget and asked me every so often if I were going to go through with it, and I kept telling him that I would.

The next question was where would I get this done. Hubby told me that where he had his done that he would not take me there, and some of the other local area shops were not to thrilling. He found an experience written by another woman who was of DD cup size. He wrote to her about her experience and asked her to explain to me what to expect and about the pain, healing time, etc.

She wrote back with a very informative explanation of the piercing and of the shop owner, a woman who also did the piercing. This lady told of when she pierced the nipples she would also be opening the heart chakra, if you do not know what these are Google it, as it makes for interesting reading. This helped me to go ahead with the piercing.

My next little journey, after I could get out and about was a two week stay with my girl friend in Arkansas. Every night as we talked on the phone, hubby asked if I were going to get pierced. From five hundred miles away it was easy to say yes.

I returned home on the Monday before Labor day to find out that on Sunday dear hubby had gone over to Libertyville, Il which is about fourty-five miles from where we live to talk to Mandi, the woman who owns Liberty Tattoo, and also does the piercing. He said that the shop was clean as a whistle and that Mandi was all business and really was going to be as professional as anyone could hope for.

Was I shocked when he told me that on Friday of Labor Day weekend that I had a 6:30 appointment with Mandi to get pierced.

Now I started to have second thoughts,"chicken out", and was informed that I was going to the shop if he had to drag me kicking and screaming. I was told that he had made the appointment after I had told him that I was going to do it and the least that I could do would be to go over and talk to Mandi. If I wanted to have it done I was there and could have it done or if I did not want to get pierced we would pay the lady and go home.

As we got closer to the shop I got as nervous as could be. When we entered the shop Mandi knew my hubby and explained the procedure to me. I filled out the paperwork and we went into the piercing room. This is where she really was helpful in calming me down. She cleaned my nipples and marked them and up onto the piercing bed was the next step, which took a little help from hubby with two new knees.

Mandi explained about the heart chakra and the way to close it was to release something bad that had happened in my past. When I was told to release my breath slowly with force as she pierced the nipple and to release the bad emotion that I was holding inside. My brother had died on his birthday in January, and this had bothered me. While I was releasing the emotion and the needle was going through my nipple the door of the piercing room opened, but there was no one there.

The first nipple took two pushes to get the nipple through, and hurt like hell. Mandi put the ring in that nipple and asked if I were ready to have the other nipple pierced. I told her ok and that time the needle went through like a knife through hot butter and with very little pain. I sat up and Mandi helped me get my bra and blouse back on, explained aftercare and my husband paid and he and gave her a nice tip for getting me through my experience.

It has been five weeks and I have not had any problems, save catching a ring on my bra, "ouch", and the sea salt soaks are done for me by my husband and he cleans the few crusties that I have had off of me with saline solution. We both enjoy this part of the process as my breasts have not had this much attention in years.

When I told my daughters what I had done they could not believe me. The younger girl who is a surgical nurse at the local hospital told me not to have any surgery done in a hospital that she works in.

If you plan on getting pierced nipples, yes it hurts, but not like knee replacement, and you will ge over the hurt. Your nipples will now look like it is cold outside all of the time and your boy friend/ husband will give them so much attention that you will be glad that you had it done and wonder why it took you so long to make up your mind to get it done.

If a sixty-eight year old can have this done any of you young ladies can do it if you want it done. Do not worry about what the other people think. The woman who does my nails about fell off her chair when I told her what I had done. My husband was there harassing both of us and I told him that if he did not shut-up I was going to take my nipple rings out. The nail tech who is not a teenager thought that I was joking until I told her that yes I had pierced nipples.

If you want it do it and the heck with what other people think they are your nipples. As they say, " you go girl ".
