Well....after a long time of being interested in body mods, I finally decided to take the plunge...I GOT PIERCED, for the 2nd time! It's so worthwhile when you actually get a piercing done that you're abit aprehensive about, and once you have it you just want to tell everyone, and you have that feeling of acomplishment. And you gotta love that!

My 2nd piercing (after lobes, only 1 in each ear) I decided to get was a tragus. I absolutely loved it, but it absolutely didn't like me. I had alot of trouble with the first BCR being too small, and it started off some swelling and scarring, once I got it changed to a different size it didn't make much of a difference, so unfortunately I had to take it out. Cut a long story short my scarring is just about gone (3 weeks later and using Vit E oil) and my ear is feeling so much better.

So, after losing my tragus I decided that I needed something else pierced to compinsate for losing it. And....I decided on getting my nipple done. Many of my friends (males) have theirs done, and alot of them have told me their expieriences about getting pierced and the pain factor. Pain factor was a number 1 issue for me, as well....I'm a big chicken I must say. But I already had a cartilidge piercing, so surely it can't be as painful as that? Well, goes to show I was, it was alot more painful for me than getting my tragus done. I was told though that for men, nipple piercings can be more painful than apposed to women's nipple being pierced. Apparently men have more nerve endings than women, as women are made to breastfeed babies. Who knew! I suppose the guys have to suffer somehow seeing they don't give birth haha! Sorry guys!

All nervous, but excited about getting this piercing I done some research on the internet and I decided that this piercing was definately for me. A few days later on a spur of the moment thing, I decided it was time to go and get this show on the road...so I went and got it done. I nervously got into the car, and drove down to the local piercing shop, the piercer wasn't there, so I had to wait 20 minutes. I spent a few minutes looking through all the gorgeous body jewellery she had for sale too...barbells, horseshoes, lots of sparkly gems too! By this time the adreneline was pumping and I just wanted it done and to be out of there. After my piercer arrived I went into the cubicle, she explained the proceedure and explained what would be done...all good. I signed the consent form and away we went (even though I'm over 21, I still had to sign the paper hehe).

First off I picked my jewellery. I decided to go for a plain Surgical Steel barbell and once my piercing was fully healed I would splurge and get a nice White Gold and diamond barbell made. After stepping into the cubical I got asked to take my top off and my bra...time to be measured up. My piercer made 2 dots and asked me to have a jiggle about because I am larger busted it can effect where the piercing goes. So I had a jiggle and got the dots re-done. All is good, ready to go now! Layed down on the table, cold clamps brrrrrrrrr, ready to go....1, 2, 3.......arghhh, then again arghhh. Phew, all finished, not too much blood either to my suprise which was great. I checked it out in the mirror....FABBO, brilliant job, told my piercer I was happy and got dressed. After the piercing I was given an after care sheet explaining the do's and don't and when I could change over my jewellery. I was also told to keep a clean tissue in my bra over the piercing, just to make sure that my bra or my clothing didn't irritate my newly adorned nipple. That in tow and a big smile on my face I went back home to tell my family.

The piercing itself was so quick and within a few seconds it was over and done with. It looks absolutely fab, I would totally recommend anyone getting this piercing done. Although it's not pain free (well for me it wasn't) the sensitivity has increased alot. The pain afterwards was just a dull ache for approx 2-3 days, not much discharge, and I've been doing my salt soaks on a regular basis.

It's now been nearly 3 weeks since I was pierced and I have had no trouble with it whatsoever. Still doing my salt soaks and washing in antibacterial soap, NO infections, and no pain.
