My nipple piercings

Let me first start off to say that I am not a newbie to piercings. I got my belly button pierced when I was 13 years old. Next was my nose at 17 and tongue at 18. During winter break from my second year at college my best friend and I were talking about our piercings, we have the same things done. I had been investigation nipple piercings for the past couple weeks, because frankly, that's just about all I had left to get pierced, and you should ALWAYS investigate a piercing before you do it. It should never be something done on a whim.

I proceeded to mention it to my best friend, "hey, lets go get our nipples pierced! I mean, it's all we've got left, right!?" So, we drove on up to town and checked out the local piercing shop. I had never been there before, but it had been the place where she had gone for all her other piercings, and she never had any trouble with them, so I followed her there.

We checked out some photos of piercings by each piercer in the studio, and talked to the owner to get some more information on nipple piercings, to make sure this was really what we wanted. Then, we actually made appointments, for THE NEXT DAY!

I came home that night and went back on the internet to do some more investigating and to see if there's any information that the studio had been lacking. Nothing. Everything seemed like it's go ok.

The next day I was pretty nervous, obviously, who wouldn't be? Granted, it would be my 10th piercing, but never had I been pierced somewhere that I felt would be that painful. The day just dragged on, it seemed like our 8:00 appointment would never come!

Finally it did. We drove together to the studio, complaining about the cold. We had heard a myth that once your nipples are piercing that when you go outside into the cold that your piercings would get disturbed by the hardening of the nipples, which, by the way, did NOT happen.

We arrived at the studio and met with our piercer, Aaron. He let us in the room together so that we could hold each others hands and it were happened. I went first. I always go first when I go with someone to get something pierced. I feel that if I go second and the person before me crys or passes out that I will definately decide against the piercing.

I sat down in the chair, and Aaron asked me to remove my shirt. At first, that was kind of wierd. I felt a little self conscious, but he was very businesslike. He prepped both my nipples by wiping them clean. Next was marking where the piercings would go. Finally, it was time for the clamps. At this time he called in another piercer from the studio to help. Luckily I was at a studio that did both nipples at once. After it was done I could not imagine only doing one at a time. It helped me realize why some people only have one done, haha.

Aaron clamped one and the other piercer, a female, clamped the other. They checked to make sure they were even with each other and told me to get ready.

I was scared.

Flat out, scared. I told them to give me a minute, because at the time I was freaking out.

They gave me a minute and Aaron told me that he'd count to three and then pierce.

One.. two...

PIERCED!

And oh boy, did it hurt. Not a pain like a cartilage piercing, a burning sensation. My whole chest started to burn. He put in the barbells and checked to make sure they were tightly on and that was it. At the time, my piercings were still burning, but they didn't really 'hurt'. It wasn't nearly as bad as I had thought it would be.

My friend went next. He prepped her the same way and called in the other piercer to help. My friend proceeded to pass out after the piercings were done. They had to give her a sugar pill to help her. They also put a fan on her to help cool her down. Luckily she was fine afterwards.

I've had them done for over a year and they really do make the nipples more sensitive. They were sore for a couple months, and you can't have anyone else's bodily fluids (aka spit) on them for at least two months, so in a way, that was hard. And they do show through in tank tops if you aren't wearing a bra, but as long as you don't mind that, flaunt them! All and all I'm glad I got them done.
