This is my experience about multiple piercing in the same location.

I wasn't planning on getting it done, but my roommate went to get her navel pierced, and didn't want to get pierced alone. Well, I already had my navel, eyebrow, and tongue done, so Jon suggested I get my nipple done. I could only afford to get one done, so I got the right nipple pierced. Capitol City doesn't have a separate area for piercing, so I was out in the open. I was ok with this, as I had gone to Jon for all my other piercing. I didn't expect it to hurt as bad as it did. This is defiantly something that I should have researched before I did it. The piercing healed well, but unfortunately, I had an accident about 6 months later. I was getting ready to take a bath one day, and I leaned over on the edge of the tub, and my nipple ring got caught on the ring on my hand and got ripped halfway out. There was a lot of main and even more blood. I removed the ring at tat time and just let it heal.
After another 6 months, I decided I wanted both nipples pierced. I can't actually recall who did this piercing, only that it was in Lapeer , Michigan. The piercing artist decided that he would pierced the right nipple first, as it had some scar tissue, and would hurt worse. I didn't really notice that it hurt worse than the first time, or than the other nipple that was pierced after that. I just remember feeling like a bad ass for having my nipples done. I was proud of myself for getting them done again.
I had those piercing for about a year, and eventually took them out because I was trying to have children, and would have to take them out to nurse anyway. The baby thing took longer than expected, and it has been seven years since I took my nipple rings out. I have been wanting to get them redone for quite a while, but since I had young children, I was really leery about another accident, so I kept putting it off.
Well, now oldest child is 3, and it was time to re-pierce!! I have been thinking about it for a long time, but I was really nervous about my kids and any accidents. Well, I figured if not now, never. I choose Body Armor in Kalamazoo, Michigan. I am in love with this place. Not only do they have a good reputation, but I have gone there several times before for tattoos. The guys there are awesome. I called ahead of time to make sure I would be able to have my nipples pierced with barbells, and to make sure they had ¾ inch barbells at that (yeah, big ole nipples). Everything was a go!!
I arrived at the parlor around 5:00, and only had to wait a few minutes while Scott got everything ready for me. We talked a little bit about whether my scar tissue would be an issue, so he examined my nipples and decided to pierce a little farther back(deeper) to avoid the scar tissue. He then marked my nipples and had me look with a mirror to see if I liked the placement. Scott then had me lay down on a table, which I had never had to do before for a nipple piercing. In hindsight, I was really grateful I was laying down!! It was time to pierce!! He did the right one first, which had already been pierced twice. He had me inhale, then he pierced on my exhalation. It hurt for a second, but then there was no pain. We did the same thing for the left nipple, only this one hurt really bad. I don't think anything went wrong, perhaps not all the scar tissue was avoided, though. During this piercing, my legs went all crazy, so I was defiantly glad I was laying down. My nipples were then cleaned and I w as then allowed to get dressed. Scott then asked me if I needed to know anything about aftercare, and I said no, as I have done this before. Then I went home.
It has only been 12 days since I got them pierced, and I am very happy. There is little to no pain in my right nipple, and just a little in my left. Some tenderness mostly. I am really happy with the barbells, I have never been pierced with barbells before. I was concerned about lack of movement during cleaning, but I haven't had any issues. They are actually healing better than any other time. My children know that mommy has booboos and not to touch me, so I haven't had any issues with that either. All in all, I feel that with some planning and good care, it is safe to pierce the same area several times.
