I wanted to get a piercing for ages but was limited as to what I could get due to work and training to be a teacher...I wanted my tongue done but visible piercing's would not work. I'd be breaking too many rules and probably get kicked off my placements. Plus my parents and whole family are not big fans of piercing's at all, it took me until I was thirteen to get them to let me have my ear lobes done, I have now had them done three more times though!!

So Id wanted my nipple pierced for about a year...a friend and me came up with the idea on a drunken night out but as soon as we sobered up we chickened out!! I still wanted mine done but being as indecisive as I am I kept changing my mind. I would walk to the studio and hype my self up to have it done and just as I'd get there I'd turn back!!
It finally took another girl getting it done to give me the push to get mine. It was my best mates birthday and when I saw the other girls piercing I got a pang of jealousy...It was my piercing!! It did not help that she was not my favourite person in the world!!
So two days later there I was in the piercing studio at oasis waiting to go through!! It cost around £22 I think, I was asked for id and it was photocopied and all that jazz. I got a friend to come in with me but she was more scared than me, she kept screaming and shaking!! I thought it was so funny!!
I lay down on the table pulled up my top and the guy got to work I think I annoyed him a little because he started setting up on the left side (I don't know why) and I told him I wanted my right one done. He huffed and changed sides never mind... He marked my nipples and I checked the placement and looked away I felt the clamps go on (there not as bad as everyone claims) but that's it.... it all happened so quick that my friend actually had to tell me it was done!!! She suddenly went white and shouted "Did u feel that" I was totally oblivious to the fact that the needle was through and as I looked down he was putting in the barbell!! Talk about adrenaline rush!! I really could not stop laughing and looking at my new piercing!!
I don't know if it was because I was distracted but I didn't feel anything!! I said thank you fixed my top and we ran to the closest bar...a few drinks later and I realised how much I loved my piercing!!
It healed really easily and quickly I washed it twice a day with half a pint of boiled water and a teaspoon of salt...it worked really well!! I heard somewhere that holding a shot glass of salt solution over the piercing was helpful. I did this to help loosen up and blood or discharge and it worked!! I had no soreness although the holes either side were a little red for about a week.
I had no trouble sleeping (I sleep on my stomach) or with any clothes I wore. A bit of advice though get a good bra. One that's supportive but does not squash everything!! Be warned though any knocks or pulls are really painful, when looking after my two year old cousin I got kicked in the chest...ouch. Cue lots of stinging pain and a little bleeding. It's all good now though!!
I absolutely adore my piercing and could not wait to show it to all of my friends...they all love it to, even my best mates brother and brother in law have seen it, it's a good talking point as well, I made many a new friend on holiday with it!!
If your thinking of getting this piercing then all I can say is go for it, I don't think it hurt much at all and it was quicker and easier to heal than my ears were, I found my piercing has made my nipple loads more sensitive so that good!!
If you live in Birmingham then id like to say contrary to beliefs Oasis is a good place to get your piercing there clean efficient experienced and fairly priced!! I have had no problems and neither have any of my friends.
It's been three months since I had my piercing and I can honestly say the worst part of the experience was trying to hide it from my mum when on holiday!! I'm thinking of going back to possibly get my other nipple or the nape of my neck done. Happy piercing everyone and remember it may hurt a little but its all worth it!
