Hopefully a little bio won't get this rejected. I feel it's needed to compliment the piercing experience for anyone reading and especially those close to my age.

I have never fit in with the mainstream of society and that can be lonely sometimes. Sometimes it's hard for me to believe I'm 48 and doing all these body mods that you equate to people in their teens and twenties. It's great though and I wouldn't have it any other way. I would love to find other people around my age to swap experiences with.
I am the mother of two grown sons and some say gorgeous, though I have never viewed myself that way. I know I stand out in the crowd, so to speak and have all my life. It's the way I dress, groom and carry myself more than physical beauty that gets me noticed by women as well as men. The body under the clothes is still pretty good, but has a lot of imperfections so, why get pierced?
It makes me feel good, different and sexy!
Nipple piercing has always intrigued me, but I was very concerned that the piercing might damage nerves and decrease sensitivity. I have always had very sensitive nipples and didn't want to screw up my sex life for the sake of "cool piercings".
I had my navel pierced four years ago, nose three years ago and lip three months ago. I've also been getting new tattoos this year and began to seriously consider nipple piercing.
I got a computer last year an decided to research nipple piercing on line. I looked up the medical aspect of nipple piercing, read piercing site's information and a lot of personal experience stories. this information answered a lot of my questions and alleviated a lot of my concerns.
I went to my piercer Daniel to discuss my concerns and what I had read on line to be sure I had the correct information. He confirmed what I read was correct for the most part and filled in any gaps with the right answers.
With my questions answered and my concerns alleviated, I said: Let's do it! Daniel said: Now? I said: Yes, now! Daniel said: O.K. and got right to it.
He had me fill out the standard form and show my Driver's License for I.D. and photo copied it.
We then went into his piercing room which looks like a doctor's office, it's so clean and professional. He scrubbed up, put on gloves and proceeded to set up his piercing supplies. He went through his explanation of the colors on the instrument packaging and how the different colors tell you that the instruments have been sterilized.
We discussed barbells verses captive bead rings. I wanted barbells. I think they're sexier and more attractive. Then we discussed the placement of the piercings. From the pictures I'd seen on line, I like the piercings at the bottom of the nipple closet to the breast the best.
I was a little concerned that this piercing might either turn me on or be a bit disconcerting, but all went very well. Daniel is very professional and I just treated it like any other medical procedure.
He had me stand up straight in front of him while he measured my nipples to determine the size and placement of the barbells. He then explained he was going to use 14 gauge barbells, 9/16" long. He explained they were a little longer than I might want later, but this was to allow for any little swelling there might be.
Daniel is the first and only member of The Association of Professional Piercers in our city. He uses only Implant Grade Titanium jewelry. This is the same material used in bone pins and pace makers. All his jewelry is internally threaded, so there's less trauma when the jewelry is put in after piercing and reduces the amount of bacteria between the threading. I have never had any problems with any piercing Daniel has done for me or my partner. Daniel's great!
He changes his gloves yet again and while I'm still standing he washes both my nipples and surrounding area with Technicare, a surgical scrub.
He uses the sides of his fingers to gently tap my nipple until they're erect, so he can determine the best placement of the piercings. He marks the piercing sites with ink and has me sit in his reclining dentist type chair.
As he's getting the final preparations complete, I remember that I read online that the second nipple usually hurts worse than the first. It occurs to me that if he pierces my more sensitive nipple first it might help. I felt pretty stupid for a moment because I couldn't remember which was more sensitive. They've been my nipples for 48 years, I ought to know which is more sensitive, but I guess in the excitement of the moment a brain freeze is quite normal. Anyway after a second of panic I remembered it was the right one, told Daniel what I'd read and would he start with the right nipple. He said: O.K., switched the chair around and changed his gloves again. He must change gloves twenty times a procedure, which is good.
O.K. Here we go. Oh boy! I'm getting nervous. I've pierced my ears myself ten times, had my nose, belly and lip pierced and have fourteen tattoos, but this had me really nervous.
Daniel gets set up, perks my nipple up, puts on the clamp and says starting to pierce or whatever he says. It's always the same words, but I can never remember them after he pierces me. That spark of pain drives the words right out of my head. The needle goes through my right nipple, the more sensitive one and it hurt like hell. It hurt and burned like fire for a split second, then was done. I didn't feel the jewelry go in.
Now I'm anticipating the second nipple hurting worse than the first, which was damned unappealing. Daniel turns the chair around and sets things up for the second nipple, perks it up, puts the clamp on, says his start to pierce words..... and he's done. Wow! the second was far less painful than the first! So, all you women out there, if one nipple is more sensitive than the other, have that one done first. It worked for me, it might just work for you.
I didn't feel him put the barbell into the second nipple either. My nipples burned a bit for an hour or so. Since then I've had no real discomfort, unless I bump my tit into something or hook it on the rolled back sleeve of my bathrobe
Daniel then said he was done and had me watch him discard the needles he'd used into the biologically hazardous waste container.
He said I could get up and asked was I O.K., not dizzy, lightheaded or anything. I was fine. I always am, but I must have been a little rattled, because I almost forgot to look in the mirror at my pretty little pink pierced nipples. They looked great!
Daniel gave me his after care talk even though I've heard it before several times. I paid him and tipped him. He's great! I went home with my newly pierced nipples, my aftercare pamphlet and my sea salt.
I soaked my nipples a couple hours later in warm sea salt water in two shot glasses and twice a day ever since.
I had no bleeding when Daniel pierced my nipples and none until three days later. The second night my left nipple was terribly itchy and I gently scratched the very tip with my fingernail. The next morning there was just a little blood at each side of the piercing and none since.
My nipples are healing wonderfully. They've never been sore and they're more sensitive than ever. Yee Ha!
I love to look at them and go around topless at home all the time. My partner really likes them too, except he can't wait until they're healed to he can suck on them again.
I can't wait until they're healed, so I can wear nipple shields. I have a pair picked out, they're spider webs with a little spider on them.
I wish I lived somewhere where I could go out doors topless. I saw the greatest pictures of an older woman with pierced nipple in an outdoor setting, it was wonderful.
I 'm very happy with my new piercings and would recommend it to anyone who truly wants to have it done.
