Nipple Piercing has interested me for a while now. I have always been to shy to get it done professionally, so about a month ago I ordered some needles offline. My boyfriend tried to pierce my right nipple and the needle got stuck right as we could see it poking out. The pain was tolerable; I was trying to stay calm. It burned really bad and I could barely stand it, so instead of trying to shove the jewelry in, I took the needle out and called it a day.

Josh and I were dropping Jake at work and he mentioned that he might be getting his nipples pierced. The only thing I could think about all day was how I was jealous and how I wish I had the courage to get my own pierced professionally.
Josh and I had to drive an hour to and from picking his little brother up for the weekend and all I could think about was getting pretty jewelry in my nipples. I decided about halfway home that I was going to try and get it done. I mentioned it to Josh and he just shrugged, he has never been a fan of nipple piercing but he always supports me in what I want.
We were planning on going to Evolution that day anyways, because Josh was going to get one of his three eyebrows repierced. The plan was we were going to go to Evolution at night, but I was anxious and wanted to get it over with, so about 20 minutes after we got home from picking his little brother up we decided to got Evolution.
The funny thing was Jake called while we were driving there and we walked in the shop while on the phone with him... Anyways, back to the story, I walked in nervously and picked up the clipboard with the forms on it. I held it nervously for a few minutes before slowly filling it out. I kept watching over my shoulder like someone was going to sneak up on me and see what I was writing. I skipped the part about what I was getting pierced until the end and I wrote: both nipples.
After I was done with the form I carried it around the shop with me pretending to look around and I nervously showed Josh. I was even more nervous because Jake was standing there starring at me waiting on me to bring it to him so he could copy it. I knew the moment I gave it to him he would embarrass me. After joking about my fears I finally got the courage to hand him my form. He took one look at it and started making fun of the "both" part and told Trent (tattoo artist) that I should get them all three done.
Finally, Jeremy came out and by then I was bright red and Jake told him about me waiting "both done" and they laughed then he whispered "I'm Sorry". I was so nervous by then I wanted to walk out the front door, but Jeremy smiled kindly at me and told me to follow him.
I went back alone since Josh's brother was with him and he wanted to stay with him. I guess that was better in the long run, he did not have to see some other guy touching my breasts. Anyways, I walked in and sat on the table. Jeremy shut the door and asked me if this was my first time. I told him about how Josh and me tried it before and how it did not work. He put me at ease talking to me and said he would not lie that it would hurt.
I laid my glasses down, and then it was time to take my shirt off. I turned around toward the wall and took off my shirt and laid it on the ground and shyly climbed back on the table. I asked Jeremy if I should lie down and he said no stand up. I stood up and he marked me then told me I could lie down.
I was actually more at ease with my shirt being off than I thought I would be. Jeremy was saying how we were friends and I should not be nervous, because I told him I was. He joked about how I knew him and he was not a sexual predator. I was completely at ease with having no shirt on by the time he was ready to pierce me.
Jeremy started with the right nipple and placed the clamp on the marks. He told me the clamps would be awkward, but I barely felt them at all. He got the needle rubbed in lubricant and positioned it. After a few seconds of positioning the needle right he told me to take a deep breath. He shoved the needle in. He said I had a tough nipple; he had a little difficult time shoving it through at first. The pain was not what I expected. It hurt less than when Josh did it (and it was numbed then) and was more of a burning sensation. I told Jeremy that it felt less painful than my ear cartilage!
After the needle was in, the jewelry had to slide through. The jewelry sliding in hurt more than I expected and I felt a deep burning sensation, but it was quick and subsided. After the CBR ring was in, Jeremy put on the ball with grace and we started chatting again.
Jeremy moved sides of the bed (it was like a doctors office bed) and got prepared again. He put the clamps on me and got the needle lubricated. He asked me if I was ready and instead of saying no this time I said yes and he shoved the needle in. I guess he got used to how tough my nipple was because this needle slide right in easily and a few seconds faster than the first one.
The pain of the second one was greater than the first and that took me by surprise. The burn felt deeper and stronger. It still hurt less than my ear cartilage (which felt like someone stabbed me) though. After the needle was in, Jeremy slides in the jewelry very fast and easily. Jeremy told me that the jewelry went in smoother this time and I could tell; I did not even feel it going in me.
After the jewelry was in, I laid on the table for about a minute. Jeremy had to find another ball, because the one packaged did not fit it to well and he did not want me to loose it. It felt nice to lie down anyways, I had overcome my shyness by now and I was not looking forward to putting on my shirt.
After he found a ball, Jeremy put it on with ease and I was done. I stood up slowly and got my shirt. I put it on carefully and the moment it touched my piercing I wanted to scream. That hurt almost as much as piercing it. Jeremy was telling me how my bra would make it feel much better; I had not worn one to the shop, because I did not want to have to take it off.
I stayed in the back chatting with Jeremy while he cleaned up. We talked about how this was one of my few piercing below the neck and I told him I never had my navel done. He took a look at my navel and said he thought it was pierable and that made me extremely happy and I agreed to come back sometime and have him pierce it.
After he was done cleaning, we went out front and I paid. Josh got his eyebrow pierced after me and we were going to stay at the shop and wait on the owner Dave, Jeremy wanted to experiment a surface piercing on me, but my nipples were killing me so we told him to call us when Dave got there and we went home.
My nipples were all gross when I got home. They had dried blood all over them and were very sore. The left CBR ring wanted to hang up for some reason and my right CBR wanted to stick straight out. My right nipple was hiding and was flat against my areola and did not want to come out no matter what.
I noticed after getting them pierced, but was not able to check it out in great depth until I got home, but Jeremy pierced my nipples very deep. I read up on BME and other websites when I got home that it was supposed to be pierced between the areola and the end of the nipple, mine seems to be pierced a little more towards the areola.
All of this happened yesterday. I left the piercing in overnight and when I woke up it was gross looking. It had dried blood on it and looked more even than ever. The pain was subsiding finally, it had hurt all day yesterday, and I was able to sleep on it but did not change the fact it was pierced wrong. I cleaned it and debated on what to do. Yesterday, I wrote to BME with a picture of my new piercings and was told they were done wrong and should be taken out. I was going to try to leave them in, but I decided if I could turn them the best thing would be to take them out.
After using Dial and Sea Salt to clean the rings, I was able to turn them. I got my camera out and took goodbye pictures then slowly took the right ring out and then the left. Taking the jewelry out did not hurt at all, but it was a little tricky to pull off the ball and not pinch myself. After the CBR's were out I cleaned them as best as I could. I held a washcloth with Sea Salt to stop the bleeding over them.
I have had them out for about 2 hours now. I can see very clearly where the holes where and now that the rings are out I can tell even more how much the piercing was done wrong. They have also been bleeding as I can see dried blood all over my bra and shirt. I am disappointed and sadden. My boyfriend told me I should not get this piercing redone and I agree with him at least for now.
I wish I could say it was good while it lasted, but it hurt to much for me to enjoy them. I have decided that nipple piercing is not for me and while it saddens me that I will never know what it is like to have a secret piercing of such I do not regret my decision. I would suggest this piercing to anyone that wants it, but do your research first. Also, it is not as bad as you think to take your shirt off and get them pierced, I am very shy, and if I can do it I think anyone can. I think that being able to have the courage and go in and get this piercing is a better memory for me than any piece of jewelry ever will be.
