Well, going to get my boobs pierced was a LITTLE spur of the moment, I decided the night before that I was going to do it THAT day but I had known I was going to at some point for a few months.

I got on the bus with my sister and discussed how completely mad I was to get metal bars forced through such a sensitive area and how the girls all dressed in red and white look stupid and clone like.

Once in town Mia made it quite clear that she didn't want to be anywhere near me while being pierced so she trotted off to H and Emo while I wandered on down to Trinket Box. I had those wonderful pre-piercing butterflies and the buzz that makes you feel very aware of everything around you.

"Hey, you doing piercings now?"

"Yep, Paul's just in with someone at the moment he'll be about five minutes if you want to wait?"

"Ok I'll hang around, thanks."

I looked at cheesy poem postcards, deciding which one I would send to who and then came to the conclusion that they were all far to cheesy to send to anyone I know.

"Ok! Who's next?!"

By this time there was an actual queue! I walk back over to the desk grinning from nerves.

"Me!"

"Ok, what are you getting done?"

"Nipples" Still grinning and probably going quite pink too (though it was very hot anyway).

"Ah ok, rings or bar bells?"

"Bar bells, I was thinking diagonal?" I held my fingers up to show what I meant. (\)(/)

"Oh yea, cool, no problem! What made you decide on that?"

"Just a bit different really."

"Ok, I'll just get set up."

It's a wonder I can remember this whole conversation really, I was very nervous by this point.

Anyone who knows me knows I've got no issues with being topless providing it's not bothering anyone else so I wasn't worried about that part! Paul marked it all up, then re-marked the right one as the angle wasn't as steep as the left. Once we were happy with them he had me lie down and TRY and relax (didn't really work, I was so excited and nervous).

"Are you ready?" Paul's grinning a bit, probably because I'm STILL grinning madly (and shaking a little too it has to be said!).

"Yep!!"

"You sure?" He was definitely amused.

"Yep yep! Go for it!!"

The clamps didn't hurt at all in fact, I couldn't really feel that part.

"Ready?" I swear, he asked me so many times, like he thought I was going to back out!!

"Yuhuh."

"Ok, big breath in for me... and...."

THAT hurt!! Hurt quite a lot BUT it was for such a short amount of time (we're talking less than half a second here folks) that it wasn't that bad at all, it was over so quick!! And yes, I was STILL grinning.

"There we go that's that done. Just got to change it to the bar now for you."

I made the mistake of relaxing a little as, usually inserting the jewellery doesn't hurt but is actually more of a relief. Not in this case!

"1, 2, *OUCH*, 3 done..."

That hurt just as much as the needle going through, that being said it was also over very, very fast!

Same process again for the other nipple and that was that!!! I was feeling very light-headed so I stayed laying down for a few minutes with the fan on my face (it was VERY hot that day). Paul cleaned up the little bit of blood and showed me in the mirror, they're perfect! I love them! ^_^

He put two huge plasters on them and I got dressed, paid, thanked him and left with a huge grin on my face (which provoked some strange looks from those waiting outside!).

And thus ends another piercing adventure!! Only the second time I've been pierced without a friend there with me to have their hand crushed!! As it happens I'm very proud of myself for going on my own. I think it took guts and I feel better about myself for doing it alone. It also makes them very personal piercings it's MY thing, I did it by myself, it's my body, etc.

A week later they've stopped bleeding and are looking very happy so far. The exit hole on the left one is slightly lower than on the right one which kind of bugs me, but not enough to take it out and re-pierce it, I don't think the difference will be that noticeable when they're healed. It's not been at all painful so far and very little swelling. I can sleep on my front still, which is a blessing as I find it difficult to get to sleep on my back or side!

Once again my nostril piercing has a rival for the stop of "Lollys Favourite Piercing"! I love 'em THAT much!! I spent a veeery long time (about 6 months!) thinking about getting my nipples done, as I wasn't 18 (legal age to get them done here in the UK) when I started thinking about it that gave me lots of time, in the end I'm VERY glad I did it. It seems everyone's main question, and it was mine too, was about how much it hurts. For me, the pain was completely bearable and it shouldn't let anyone be put off!!!

About a month later:

All looking very good now! No blood at all, a little lymph now and then. I've been going for the LITHA option and it seems to be working, I'm trusting my body to do it's own thing and I'm just generally being carefull with them and keeping them clean and I've had NO pain at all, which is great!!!
