Today I decided that I was going to get pierced. Two and a half hours sleep and the feeling of inflicting pain on yourself will do that to you. I already have my belly button pierced and my tongue. I also have two tattoos. I thought about getting my belly button pierced again, but was told that they migrate so wasn't too sure. Anyway, onto the bus I got and took a trip to Under the Skin. I have had all my piercings and my tattoos done there, and the guys are all really nice. So I stood there for a few minutes trying to make my decision about what to get pierced, when a girl came in and asked about getting her nipples done. I thought right that's what I want. So I spoke to Vince who gave me a form to fill in and sign, which I did. He took it off me and said that he'd be with me in a few minutes. I sat there watching the clock and eyeing up the other people that were going before me and wondering what they were having done. My boyfriend got a bit angry that I was getting my boobs out in front of a guy, but hey, he only had to pay for it.

He asked me whether I was after a bar or a BCR, I chose a bar because they are supposed to heal better. I stood and followed him into the back room where he proceeded to sort out the jewellery and put the screen across so nobody else could see. He asked me to remove my top and sit on the chair which I did. He made me stand up so that he could mark up where he was going to pierce. He began to spray the numbing stuff onto my nipple and then said this may sting a little. A little my arse. It's more uncomfortable than anything else; somebody trying to push a needle through your nipple is not really all that pleasant. After pushing the needle all the way through, he told me it wasn't straight and that he'd have to do it again. I gritted my teeth and agreed, by which he repeated the process, but managed to straighten it up. He pushed the bar through, and did it up. Still want to have the other one? Yeah I might as well.
So again he sprayed the numbing stuff onto my other nipple and slowly pierced the other one, and it still hurt!!! More than the last one. He pushed the bar through and did it up. Right sweetie you're all done. I handed over the £25 and went outside to meet my boyfriend who was still mad. They stung all afternoon, and going from nipples hardly being erected, to nipples entering a room before you do is quite bizarre.
I recommend anyone that wants to get them done to do it as they actually look wicked. But do be prepared for the pain. Vince gave me aftercare instructions which were, bathe nipple in salt water twice a day, and don't wear really restrictive clothing. Make sure when you bath you don't leave soap residue around the bars and don't use perfumed stuff for a while. I was on a high for the rest of the afternoon, although as I said it does hurt. But afterwards it's just like a dull ache, and that wears off after a couple of hours and then it's all pretty good. I think my new piercings are great and even my boyfriend is getting used to them. He actually rather likes them he's admitted.
I just can't wait for them to heal now and will probably be showing them to everyone, but hey that's life. My dad wasn't too impressed to find out his darling daughter has two metal bars through her nipples but I think that's just a mans opinion.
(2 days later) Heads up though, Seatbelts are painful the day after, my dad gave us a lift out, and the seatbelt was rubbing against the bar all the way there. For pain and swelling relief, I was told to use ibuprofen for the time that it hurts. But it's now two days later and it doesn't hurt anymore at all, unless you catch it on something. They seem to be healing really well so far and I'm keeping up with the cleaning routine very well. I think they're my greatest piercings and I love them to pieces.
But make sure you research the place you get it done, and make sure they have all their health and safety certificates. Your nipples are a very tender place if they are going to get infected.
