For almost half a year I was thinking about a nipple piercing. Before I really never thought about it, and even found it ugly, especially for men. But after looking at some awesome pictures here at BME, I completely changed my mind. Nipple piercings are sexy, especially for women! And there is nothing wrong with giving your body some sort of decoration.

But knowing that I wanted this piercing really bad, I started reading BME to check out the risks. And read a lot of other people's experiences with this piercing to convince myself. This comforted me a bit, but I was not yet ready to take the step.
Until three weeks ago, I visited the piercing shop with a friend of mine. She went for her second nipple piercing and a christina too. I looked around in the shop, and found myself quiet comforted with what I saw, the shop was looking clean and trustworthy. I also saw some nice looking jewels, and I began to fantasize how it would look on me. Although I would like to keep it simple.
My dear friend came back out of the little piercing-room as if nothing had happened, although she admitted the christina had hurt a lot. So listening to her experiences comforted me even more. But I was still not ready to let it done, plus there were also a lot of people in the shop, and so I decided to wait a little longer.
Last week, I took a day off to go shopping, and I passed the piercing shop again. This time the weather was really hot, and I was doubting, should I go in or not. Because of the heat I was afraid I was going to faint as soon I left the shop. I was already getting nervous only by the thought of it. But I really wanted this piercing, I certainly knew for sure, and after all I'm not the kind of girl that faints easily, I am able to stand some pain. So I said to myself : it's now or never, so I went in and just asked the guy behind the counter.
I had to fill in some paperwork (this calmed me down a bit), and I followed him to the piercing-room. Which was very clean indeed, just like my friend told me! So I sat down, we talked about what was possible (I wanted them done horizontally, and afterwards vertical). And we decided to start with one, and afterwards decide if we would go further. He disinfected my breast, put little marks on them and then he asked me to sit and lay my head down. After he put on the clamp, he asked me to breath in , and when I breathed out , the steel went through my nipple.
And it did hurt, it sure did, but maybe even more when he fixed the jewel. But then it was done, and I only felt some strange tickling feeling. The guy asked me if I wanted to do my other nipple at once (what was the initial plan). But I answered I still wanted to wait a little longer, to see how this one would evolve. He understood and told me how to take of the piercing.
When I left the shop (with all my cleaning products) it still tickled a bit, but did not hurt. And I kept feeling it for a few hours. The day after it didn't hurt at all. Now, I am already a few days later, and I can say I didn't have any pain afterwards at all. It almost didn't bleed, and I use my after-care products like written in the little after-care manual they gave me.
I'm really proud of my first piercing, and I think it's really beautiful. Next month I'm going to get my other nipple pierced. Doing them vertically afterwards could be a problem, that's what the piercing guy told me. It could be my nipples are too small and a little inverted. But I like my first piercing, it really looks great. And I hope my future boyfriend will like it too, but if he does not, well hell, that's his problem ;) I'm not planning of taking them out!
I really do hope I don't get any complications, but I expect if you take care of it, and don't touch it with dirty hands, nothing wrong will happen. Just use a glass with salted water every day to remove little pieces of dirt, and wash it with disinfecting products afterwards. Be careful not to use too much salt, as it could actually burn your nipple, or any other aggressive product. And off course don't let your girl- or boyfriend touch it during the first weeks!
So, if you are still doubting about getting it done, no need to hesitate! Just do it! It's really worth it! I'm not thinking about any other piercings (yet), because a christina looks to painful for me. (I'm a regularly horse-rider, so I think this is going to hurt a lot!) But I must admit that getting yourself pierced is like an addiction. Maybe I am going to get myself tattooed, but I have so many different ideas, and I change my mind to often to be really sure about that. It will need even more thinking and convincing myself than taking this piercings!
Kind regards,
Jade
