At A Glance Author Kyndall Contact Kyndall@bme.anon When A year ago Artist can't remember Studio whatever 4 Location gulf breeze , FL Almost a year ago I was studying for my S.A.T's when I decided that I wanted to go out and do something completely random and spontaneous to get over being nervous about my test the next morning. I was going back and forth between getting a tattoo or getting something pierced. I drove to the nearest studio and the whole way there I was still trying to decide which I was going to get done. When I got there I was told by the artist that it would be a bad idea to get a tat because I had a very new sun burn. So with that news I decided to go for the piercing. I already have my navel , nose , and daith done and I wanted something simple so I decided to go with my nipples. I choose a very small gage , my choice was to go with a sixteen gage but the artist talked me into to going with a fourteen. He told me that I could go lower once they healed. Then I had to decide if I wanted hoops or barbells, I went with the barbells . Then I had to make the choice of vertical or horizontal , final decision horizontal barbells. We walked into the room where he was going to pierce them and I got very very nervous. I know plenty of people with this done and knew the pain was going to be intense. I sat down in the chair and he pulled out his marker and all the tools he was going to need . He prepped me for the piercing marked both nipples and then he began. First he did the right side , it really really hurt and there was a little bit of bleeding. It all looked completely normal to me so I told him to go ahead and do the left nipple. This one hurt even worse and bled more than the first , a lot worse. But the artist told me that it was normal and I didn't give it another thought. He cleaned up and explained to me all the after care instructions. I told him that I had some h2ocean at home and I would use that to keep it clean along with antibacterial soap. He then talked me into buying dragon mist telling me it was better than the h2ocean. Altogether I ended up paying 85 dollars after the piercings, the tip, and the dragon mist. When I got home that night about 45 minutes after the piercing had been done there was dried blood on the right one and the left was still bleeding pretty steadily. So I called a friend to see if this was normal and she said it was normal and nothing to worry about. Since she put my worries to rest I cleaned them up used the dragon mist and went to bed.
I was careful to sleep on my back all night so I did not hurt the piercing or cause them any more pain. I did good I only laid on them like once all night . When I woke up the next morning to get ready for my test my tank that I had slept in had little blood spots on it and I knew that was normal and OK so I just continued to get ready. They were so sensitive and itchy all day . So bad it was hard for me to concentrate on the test that I was taking.All day long I was so careful not to bump them or graze them and I cleaned them about once every 2 hours or so still using the dragon mist spray. I had to work that night and of course I was not wearing a bra because that was pretty much out of the question , about mid way through my shift though a coworker pointed out to me that there was blood on my shirt. So I went into the rest room and checked it out and again the left one was bleeding pretty steadily still and there was a little bit of a discharge too.i ignored it though because there was nothing I could do at that point. The bleeding stopped after about 10 minutes so I just assumed I must have hit it or something like that. My night at work ended and I went home cleaned them up and went to bed. I continued to clean the piercings about every 2 hours for the next 5 days still experiencing trouble with the left one. I decided to stop using the dragon mist and use the h2ocean instead because it was what I had used on my other piercings and thought maybe the spray was part of the problem. After two days of switching spray the itching had gone away but they were still bleeding every so often and the left one was still worse than right one . But since progress was being made I continued with my new routine.
After 5 days of using the h2ocean and not the dragon mist things were still about the same. One night I went to bed and woke up a few hours later with a sharp pain on my left nipple so I naturally checked it out. When I looked at my nipple it was bleeding pretty bad and not from where the jewelry was but from my actual nipple. It was Leaking blood as if I was lactating. I had a feeling this was not at all normal so I called my friends and all of them told me to take it out. So I took the left one out and left the right one in since I was not experiencing anything weird with it. When I woke up the next morning my left nipple had dried blood at the tip of it and all around where the piercing had been , but it did not appear to be bleeding any more . Then when I cleaned it up it started to bleed again. As the day went by the bleeding let up and by the time I woke up the next morning the bleeding had stopped.luckily I have no scars or anything from it , but the experience really freaked me out.
A few days later the same thing happened with the right nipple. This time the pain came in the middle of the day, so instead of just taking the piercing out I went to go see a piercing artist. When he looked at the right one that was still pierced he told me he was going to go ahead and take it out because it was not supposed to look like that at all. So he took the right one out then looked at the left one where it had been pierced and came to the conclusion that the piercing's had been done too deep. For anyone, especially females, thinking about getting their nipples pierced be sure to know where the piercing should be placed. Check out your piercers background and if possible have another artist take a look at it the markings before you get pierced. I'm still having issues with my nipples because of this.It's caused me to continually get a discharge and has made my nipple extra sensitive . I also get sharp pains every now then . So just be sure you check out the person you're getting pierced by.
