I finally have time to put up my experience. I promised Jay that I would since he was so nice to me. I had been thinking about getting my piercing for almost a year... which was like torture. Since I know that I faint easily with needles. I also think too much about what my family will do when they find out. I am 19, but my family is super religious about certain things. The devil makes you do thinks like pierce anything other then your ear lobes once. So that bugged me because... its not the devil... I just like how it looks. J

So I had thought about it and even bought the after care supplies off of Elaine Angel's site. (ringsofdesire.com) So, one day I was talking to my friend and his girlfriend over the internet and he suddenly got all "holy" on me and started telling me not to do it. Along with a story that his friend got them done and her friends hated them and pulled them out. That pissed me off so I decided the next day to go talk to someone at Mystical Body about the piercing the next morning.

After 7 cars honking and some 40 year old trying to pick me up to go drink with him and his friends I walked into the shop with an Icee. It was 10 am and Mystical Body had just opened. There was one guy in there before me and he walked in got his piercing and was out. I swear it took 1 minute at max for him. So the piercer (Jay) walked out and I asked him a few questions and said that my original plan was to wait and go with my cousin to get the piercing. Then I realized that I was already there, had the money, was anxious to get it from looking at the rings and had no worry time that setting up another date would cause. So I said that I would do it right then.

After saying that, I realized that I was starting to get nervous. I signed the papers and walked into the room to get my piercing. While he washed up I removed one shirt and pulled my undershirt down a bit. (I wore layers. Good idea too. I felt less naked) Then, the nerves turned into fear... and Jay kept calming me down and asking if I was alright. He marked them in the right spot and finally after a year (5 min real time) it was time. Jay made me laugh saying that "if I faint it will be the first time someone fainted on this piercing for him and I would ruin his perfect record". He put on the clamp which is a clamp... not that painful just annoying and told me to breath. A sting of pain and a boo boo later the needle was through and I was light headed. The jewelry going through was a little weird, but after it was in (and he cleaned it with something cool) I was fine. He waited and gave me some water until I was ready again. (About 5-10 min) The second one actually felt the needle went a tiny bit slower, and I started to panic a bit... but it was just me freaking out. I was going "Ow ow ow" and Jay was trying to calm me down since the needle had been in... I was like having a delayed reaction to it or something. I guess I was more calmed on the second one. I don't know, but soon jewelry was in and another cleaning with the cool stuff and I was done... to lay there and talk more with Jay until I recouped from the second one. Eventually I got up to look at them and they were perfect! Unfortunately, that was short lived because I had to get my clothes on and catch the bus.. I talked more though and we watched the bus go right past the window... so I walked 15 minutes to school. It is better then waiting 30 min for the next one and 15 for the transfer one.

Now it has been 3 weeks and a day and they are doing perfect. The first cleaning was interesting and a bit painful since I was dumb and decided to attempt to lay on my stomach. Don't do that... it is just a dumb idea especially since I have read many times that the first two weeks you are laying on your back, for females that is. I will tell you why too... they bleed and have to be cleaned again... which the first few times is not that fun since you are sore and stuff. A sports bra is a must... even Jay said he wore a tight shirt to bed because he got caught on the sheet once and it woke him up in seconds in pain. He also gave me a fear of water slides though... he said he was terrified to come down bleeding and missing a ring. I had never thought about that before he said it.

If you are thinking about getting this piercing... then do it. Whoever said it is all in your head is right. After you get the piercing you seriously don't feel it. I thought is was going to burn for a few days like my ears, but it did not. They are so pretty too. Good luck!
