I'm no stranger to getting pierced. I started with my ear cartiledge when I turned 18. I had my labret done aout six months ago right before I transferred colleges. Then, for christmas, my friend had my ears pierced as my gift. I've been mulling around with the idea of a new piercing. Maybe an industrial I thought. But I finally decided that I wanted my nipples pierced. It took me a while to decide if I wanted them done horizontally or vertically. But I had just about made up my mind that I was going to get it done when I got back to Virginia from my Florida SPring break trip. I normally go to a piercer in Bristol, VA, and had planned on getting him to do my nipples. BUT... It was my last day in Florida for Spring Break. I was with a really good friend of mine and we decided to spend the afternoon at 5 Points and San Marco shopping. We happened into a shop called Caribbean Connection.

I bought an assload of things there to begin with. But in the back is the tattoo / piercing studio. I checked things out while we were in the store and it looked SUPER clean, very sterile and professional. I was mostly just checking out the selection of body jewelry they had (which is A LOT!!) BUT, I finished my purchase and we headed down the street. I had mentioned to my friend that it would be nice to get my nipples pierced and that I had been considering doing it when I got home. He then suggested that I do it there in Florida. I told him that I was afraid it would be too painful and I would have to fly home the next day with sore nipples. But then, my friend made me an offer that I couldn't refuse. Because he didn't believe that I would go through with it, he said that he would pay for them if I would go ahead and get them pierced while I was in Florida. I told him to stop kidding around with me and I soon realized that he was dead serious. So we sloshed through the rainstorm that was passing through and made our way back to the piercing studio.
The piercer had stepped out and would be returning shortly. I filled out my paperwork and presented my ID to the ADORABLE girl who worked there. She and I went back toward the studio and picked out my jewelry. Two metallic blue captive-bead rings. I spent the next 20 minutes or so in a frenzy. The piercer finally returned to the shop and I was introduced to him by the girl who said "This is your nipples." I've never been introduced as someone's nipples before. I was so pumped up and nervous about it and really didn't know what to expect. My friend tried to comfort me and get my mind off of the anticipation by browsing tattoos in the back. Finally, everything was setup and ready. After a quick trip to the restroom (so I wouldn't piss myself) I was ready for the big moment. He started by cleaning my nipples and disinfecting them. Next, he marked them with iodine and I layed back on the table. He reassured me by saying that it wasn't going to hurt him a bit. He put the clamp on the first one (my left) and told me that most of the time, that is the most painful part. THAT made me feel a whole lot better because that really didn't hurt. Then, a deep breath in and exhale. I felt the needle go through with little effort. It burned JUST a little, but really was more uncomfortable than anything. My friend looked on in astonishment as I tried to get him talked into doing it as well. He said he was just much happier watching me go through it. The piercer and my friend switched places for the other one. Again, it was not too bad, and I felt just a little discomfort at first.
They didn't really start to even hurt til about an hour later. It wasn't unbearable. We stopped by Walgreen's and I picked up some antibacterial soap, a pack of cotton swabs and some Neosporin with pain relief. The first time I cleaned them was probably the worst of the experiece, but they have really felt fine in the 6 days since it was done. My nipples stay hard now, and playing with them is fun. It kinda turns me on a little. If you get it done, you'll probably want to show them to everyone...I do. My mom actually told me that she couldn't look at them cause it made her a little queazy...But they are SO HOT! Whether you decide to have your nipples pierced or not, just choose a good, clean, well-lit studio. I definately enjoyed my experience and my piercer was greaT!
