I've been going through some rough times lately, and was ready for a change. I'm a pretty straight laced person, not the type you'd expect to get tattooed, or pierced, though I have 3 piercings in each ear.

I was thinking about getting a nose piercing done (believe me, that is wild for me), when I mentioned it to a good friend. He suggested getting my nipples pierced instead. I laughed, and told him no way. But, like any idea, it stayed in my head. I started researching, and decided that it couldn't be that bad. After looking at the pictures on many sites, I also really thought it looked attractive on women. Something appealed to me also about the secrecy of it. It's something I can tell people, or not tell people about.

My first thought, was if I ever have a child, will it affect breast feeding? That was easily answered to be no. I can take it out, or change to barbells. So with that in mind, I went onto risk of infection. That's fairly low with this piercing, as long as you take proper precautions.

I talked to my friend again the next day, and he suggested using his tattoo artist, Spirit who he loves. He even gave her a call for me to check on pricing, and get more info. After talking to him again, and then calling her myself, I was down to 2 concerns. First, I react really badly to a lot of earrings, and didn't want to risk a reaction to a body piercing. The other was that I am petrified of needles. The 2nd thing was easy, I do fine as long as I don't see the needle, and I told Spirit this. Like any excellent artist she said she'd make sure to keep everything out of my line of vision. The first, was solved by using titanium for my piercings. With that, I also got a choice of color, though when I looked, I decided on silver. My nipples are dark, and silver sets them off. I had originally wanted barbells, but Spirit would only do new piercings with rings. That was ok, and I trusted her.

I went into the back room, and undressed, Spirit marked my nipples and disinfected the area. I laid down in a chair and she put on the first clamp. I closed my eyes, and in a few seconds it was over. I honestly felt no more than I did when I had my ears pierced. We went onto the next, and that one DID hurt. A sharp pain, and then it was over though. I did bleed some, but it cleared up fairly quickly. I will say, for the record, the needle is BIG. This is not a tiny piercing. I didn't look, but be prepared for some pain, and if you are needle phobic, talk to your artist to figure out how to prevent you from panicking.

After paying and tipping, I left with my instruction sheet. The left nipple (the 2nd one done) was still really throbbing, the right, I didn't feel. I had a long drive home, but I was on a total high, I couldn't believe I'd done, and done it so calmly. When I finally got home and had time to really look at them, I fell in love. I feel so much more sexual now. I love how they feel, and look. They just make me feel more complete, and more powerful. Not to mention, even I think they look hot. Ironically enough, I also really like the captive bead rings. Eventually I'll want to change them out, but for now, I love them.

My boyfriend fell in love with them too, and can't wait to play with them once they're healed. Per the care sheet, we need to be really careful for 2 weeks, and keep any eye on things for a few months after that; but I can't wait to see how they feel then. It's a huge turn on overall to have the metal there, and have the feeling there.

The instructions are really clear to use Bactine 4 times a day, along with antibacterial soap which I am doing. Just like with my ears, I find if I don't, they start hurting worse. It's just a twinge, barely enough to know they're there but occasionally they'll burn. Sleeping the first night was a bit uncomfortable but no worse than any other piercing. The only thing I've really noticed, is driving a car is a little iffy, where the seat belt hits can put pressure on the piercing.

Overall though, I am SO happy I had this done. It's something I'd never considered, but the effect is wonderful, the feeling of power is wonderful, and it's completely worth the pain. Go for it! You won't regret it.
