I had been thinking about piercing my nipples for several years, but I never thought I would actually have the courage to do it. I had read many experiences and seen lots of pictures. Most of the experiences end with something like "if you've been thinking about this piercing, just do it," or something to that effect.

My first piercing was a scrotum ring about 6 years ago. I followed that with a few more scrotum rings and eventually a PA. For various reasons, I took out all of the scrotum rings within a few years. I have always kept the PA, and I have stretched it over the years. When I moved to a large city and had easier access to a good piercer, I again started a scrotal ladder. I currently have 5 rings (1 is 6 gauge, the others are all 8 gauge). My PA is currently a 0 gauge circular barbell.
You might be asking yourself, "does he have any other piercings?" Well, no. You might think that genital piercing is a much bigger step than nipple piercing or other piercings, but the opposite is true for me. From the moment I learned about genital piercing, I knew that it was right for me. It just felt right. Nipples seemed like a much bigger deal. I didn't know if I was going to be able to do it. Reading experiences on BME wasn't much help. The one constant was that each person's experience was different.
So here we go. I decided last week that I wanted a new piercing. My first thought was, of course, adding to my scrotal ladder. And then, as I was taking a shower, I looked down, and there they were...my nipples.
I called my neighbor and asked if she wanted to go with me. I have talked with her about my other piercings, and she was excited that I wanted her to go with me. She has several piercings, but she also hesitates at the thought of piercing her nipples. That was comforting.
We arrived at 5 Point Studios in Johnston, and I told my piercer, Leo, that I wanted to pierce my nipples. I had called earlier that day to set up an appointment for that night. Leo has done all of my piercings, except the PA, so I knew I was in good hands. The studio is very clean and full of interesting art on the walls.
Leo and I went into the piercing room and he closed the curtain. My neighbor asked if she could come in. Leo looked at me and I said it was ok. I took my shirt off and Leo prepared his supplies. We discussed whether barbells or CBRs were going to work better. Apparently, my nipples are quite small; we decided that small gauge CBRs were a better choice. Leo marked my nipples several times before he felt confident that the placement was right. I laid back on the table and took a deep breath.
We started with my right nipple. The clamp went on, which I can only describe as oddly uncomfortable. Deep breath in...and out. That was it? My scrotum piercings were more painful. On a scale from 1 to 10, with 10 being the most painful, I would give it about a 2.5. I was mildly disappointed by that. That feeling was quickly replaced with a tremendous feeling of accomplishment. Then the realization hit me that the second nipple was coming. I had read that piercing the second nipple was more painful. Leo asked if I was ok to go on. Of course I was. I had already waited too long for this. The clamp went on...deep breath in...and out...This piercing was more intense than the first, but not unbearable. I would give it about a 4 on a scale from 1 to 10. On a side note, I will say that inserting the jewelry was not at all uncomfortable, as I had read in many experiences on BME. My neighbor commented that they looked great. I took a deep breath, preparing myself for what I was about to see...
I sat up slowly and looked in the mirror. They were perfect. They belonged there. I could not believe I had waited so long for this moment. Leo and I talked about aftercare and he gave me some tips for doing sea salt soaks.
On the way home, my nipples were hypersensitive. I felt EVERYTHING. My nipples felt like they were on fire. This was the most uncomfortable (and pleasing) part of the entire experience. I took my shirt off as soon as I got home. The intensity of the burning sensation lessened after about 30 minutes.
That all took place about a week ago. My nipples are (of course) very sensitive, but they are healing nicely. The sea salt soaks definitely help. My experience is unique to my body, so please don't take anything I have said as absolute truth. What I can say is that my experience with this piercing has been excellent, due in large part to Leo at 5 Point Studios.
